"Stupid! You're stupid Jack!”

Mary screamed in anger, for the first time seeing Jack so stupid in his act. Just one step away they will be in front of Chris, but Jack could do something very very careless.

Stupidly he hit Chris in front of dozens of reporters, and here they are. Being in the GrantHill Company was like a fool, being returned without bringing any shares they learned in the past few weeks. Even they are still lucky because they are not exposed to blacklists from the stock market.

“Why can't you look after Clara, Mary?”

The cold question from Jack was able to make Mary silence for a moment, he looked at Jack in disbelief.

Mary took a deep breath and threw it away slowly, she looked at Jack with a pus. A man as strong as Jack could even do anything for a weak girl like Clara. Clara did not even have any strength, she was not comparable to her own family, not even a distinguished throne. But Clara is able to make Jack submit to her, able to make Jack do anything for her.

“Can't you look at me just once Jack?”

Jack's gaze now turned to look at Mary, he could see the girl was looking at him with tears. Mary's hand was now squeezing her chest strongly, she could feel her chest start to tighten, her face started to heat up, and slowly her tears began to urge her to come out.

Six years he waited for Jack to be by his side, everything he did was in vain. From threats through Clara to even helping Jack as he does today. But in vain, Jack will still choose Clara, how big and how long he was on Jack's side, Clara will remain the winner.

“Mary, I don't understand what-“

Stevenson, or commonly called Steve, breathed out in annoyance as the sarcastic speech came out of Jack's mouth. Jack just giggled at hearing it.

And here he is, one of the cafes on the beach, where he often hangs out with Steve a few years ago. At least before the man focused his efforts in Paris, France, one of the countries he loved so much. Even the man proposed to his girlfriend in France. That's right, Steve's engaged.

“Do you need help Boy?”

Jack smiled at the question his best friend asked. He tried hard to cover this up from Steve, but the man must have heard the news about him hitting Chris at the auction market. It must have been so fast to fly to Paris.

“No, I'm fine Steve, believe me.”

Steve looked at his sidekick who was concerned. A few years ago Jack helped him, at which time his company was already on the verge of bankruptcy, surprisingly Jack put some of his shares in his company, even at that time he betrayed Jack with Mary. But this time he doesn't want to close his eyes and ears when Jack needs his help.

“Say, what should I do Jack.”

Jack was silent for a moment when he heard Steve. On the other hand Steve was right, with him having a pretend relationship with Mary, it would make Clara even more hurt. Why doesn't he protect Clara so Chris can't touch a single strand of her hair.

"I apologize to the girl, and ask her what made her on Chris' side." Jack now nodded in understanding hearing Steve's words. Steve who saw Jack who remained silent in place now looked at his best friend with annoyance.

"What else are you waiting for?"

“Chris's hand legs, can you find out for me Steve?”

The big smile that Steve had given him had faded away. He looked at Jack with a guilty look. Jack just looked at the man in a daze, Steve wouldn't betray him, would he? At least one of those questions came to her mind when she saw Steve's guilty look at her.

“I can't be sure about Chris' current accomplice Jack, but I have one name lately.” Jack looked at Steve in confusion, seeing how Steve talked to him, he began to understand the direction of Steve's conversation this time.

“Who is that?"

“Tiffany Boston.”
