...Happy Reading's...
A man in a luxury sedan was staring blankly at the second-story house a few meters away from where it was parked. The eyes that usually radiated happiness looked lethargic, as if their energy had been exhausted.
His eyes now turned to the paper lying in the passenger seat next to him. A shabby paper, indicating that someone has read it dozens of times.
His eyes re-examined the neatly arranged word-for-word on the paper, as if his eyes could just change the words in the paper. Jack Hilton, the man smiled. Every time he saw this paper, his chest was always claustrophobic, as if recalling the events of one month ago. The event where the beloved mother gave up on life.
‘Jack, Judy I'm sorry,
I'm sorry for giving up, I'm sorry again. The last few months I heard that your father is in a relationship with his secretary. The secretary is pregnant with your sister, dear.
Dad told me I was going to marry the secretary. I'm sorry for telling you all this. The late-stage cancer that I suffered from will also only trouble you two. Jack has to take the time to visit Mom, and Judy has to take the time to take care of Mom.
Judy, my beautiful daughter. You must be strong Honey. Please take good care of Anne, take care of your favorite granddaughter. And Jack, I know you're Judy's sister. But I'm asking you to take care of Judy, baby. Judy needs you.’
Jack squeezed the paper, as his tears flowed. How could he not know about his father's affair? Why does his mother look okay after what happened? With terminal cancer and the betrayal of her beloved husband must have made her mother so depressed and chose to give up. Actually he knew enough about the depression that his mother had experienced. But why should it be like this?
Jack's gaze now turned back to the house in front of him. His sad gaze was now replaced with an angry look when a silver SUV began to be parked in front of the house. Jack clenched his hand tightly.
A woman with a long brown mane, and a man got out of the car. Jack squinted his eyes sharply. He knows the man. Shawn Walker, one of his friends.
Jack could clearly see the two seemed to be chatting with interspersed laughter. After a month he busied himself with work. Is this what her boyfriend did behind her? Treacheries. Betrayal was also one of the reasons his mother died.
For nearly five minutes Jack watched them, and Shawn appeared to be shaking Clara's hair gently. Jack hits his wheel hard, and Shawn starts leaving Clara's house in his SUV. After making sure Shawn was getting away, without further warning Jack got out of the car and approached Clara.
“Jack?”
Clara now looked at Jack with a sparkling look. With a run he immediately hugged Jack tightly. Jack hasn't seen her in a month. He had heard the bad news, and he tried to give Jack some space. He knows what it feels like to be abandoned by a loved one. And Jack would have needed some alone time first.
“I've heard the news Jack, I'm so sorry about your mother.”
“Did Shawn drive you home often, Chal?” Clara can see Jack's sharp gaze on her, Clara swallows her saliva. Is Jack mad like this because of Shawn?
“Shawn? Are you like this because of Shawn? Jack you just misunderstood, I'm just-“
“Jawab me!” Jack starts screaming, Clara looks at Jack in disbelief. Why is Jack so emotional? He was not the Jack he knew.
“I've only been home a few times with Shawn.” Hearing Clara's reply, Jack smiled sinisterly.
“Dan means it's not the first time?” Clara bit her lower lip scared. Why would Jack behave like this to her?
“Jack, Shawn is your friend.”
“But he's your first love right?”
Clara jerks. How did Jack know? Clara squeezed his hand. He couldn't answer, but everything Jack said was the truth. Seeing the nervous Clara Jack smiled sinisterly. Does Clara still not understand the position she has? Even from Clara still in school, he kept information about the girl.
“What did I say right?” Jack smiled in anguish.
“Shawn just drove me home Jack, that's all.”
Clara now looked at Jack inside, trying hard to convince the man. Indeed if he had waited for Shawn for years, but that was it. Shawn is a piece of his past, and he's forgotten it all. Seeing how Jack was always there for him and so serious about him, forgetting Shawn was not difficult for him.
“Send by your first love, that's all? Do you think I just believe?"
Clara clucked, somehow she could make Jack believe her. After the relationship he had with Jack almost three years ago. Did it run aground just because of a trivial thing like this? Did the mother's death make Jack so vulnerable?
“Then what do you want Jack?” Hearing Clara's question, Jack now smiled sinisterly. Jack slowly stepped closer to Clara and whispered right in her right ear.
“I'll never let you leave me, it's not just Chal's bullshit. I'll prove it to you.”
