The Winged Angel

The Winged Angel
71. Fireworks

"What's wrong with them, huh,?"I muttered while sitting on the bench.

Dion pressed his shoulder. He took a deep breath and then leaned his back. Silence took over, we fell silent and dissolved with each other's thoughts.

"Huh, I'm hungry" complained Dion.

"Me too,"

"What do you want to eat, then,?"ask Dion.

"Whatever,"

"There is no such thing as whatever" replied Dion.

I looked around the park. There's only a meatball cart. Too tired to go back to that place, where there are more food choices.

"Eat that meatball, yuk" I asked.

Dion got up from his seat and extended his hand. With a smile, I grabbed that hand. We're heading for the meatballs seller.

After ordering, we sat in the plastic chair provided. No table, just a plastic chair with no backrest.

Not far from our place, there was a musical performance. There are some people watching. I murmured slowly following the lyrics of the song being performed by the singer.

Our order meatballs are ready.

"Can,?"dion asked to see me having trouble eating while holding a bowl.

I'm nodding. Although actually a little uncomfortable.

"Sarah's the same Rey why, huh,?"I asked for food.

"No need to think about it" said Dion.

We continued eating in silence. Finish eating we go back walking - walk. I actually wanted to go home, but Dion said he still wanted to spend more time with me.

Until the sun returns, we are still here. The dark night is welcome. The lights along the river looked beautiful. Instead of getting quieter, this place is getting crowded. Especially with young people.

The glowing fireworks light graced the night sky. I stared in amazement, those flashes of light in the sky looking mesmerizing.

Dion grabbed my waist. We were standing on the riverbank leaning against the guardrail.

"Who was the first to discover fireworks,?"my many. I don't know why I'm curious about the origin of the thing that exploded in the air.

"Hem, according to historians, the fireworks came from China, which used to be used to ward off evil spirits," explained Dion.

"You know where it came from, right,?"

"Now there is Google Dea, we can find any information," replied Dion.

"But not all google know," I argue.

"Yes depends, if what you ask nyeleneh yes do not know, for example, google who my soul mate? Yes google don't know," said Dion.

I chuckled as I elbowed Dion's stomach.

Dion released his grip on my waist, then grabbed my shoulder to face him.

"If I no longer need to ask who my soul mate is, because the person is in sight" Dion said.

Dion looked me in the eyes with a smile adorning his face.

"Why are you so sure,?Our journey is still long. The human heart is easy to change, especially we are young" I replied.

Dion's gaze turned soft. He took his hand off my shoulder. Dion turned his body facing straight ahead with his hands resting on the fence.

"You don't want our relationship to continue on to a more serious one, do you,?"ask her in a weak voice.

"That's not what I mean, we're still in high school. After this you will go to college, then work. On that trip you will definitely meet many girls who are better than me,"

"In my heart there is only you Dea, you have nothing to fear. I'm not a person who easily falls in love" said Dion firmly.

I'm out of words. I chose silence while staring at the sky that was still decorated with fireworks. There is a feeling I cannot explain within my heart. I've gone too deep into my feelings for Dion. If we're destined to split up later, I'm not sure we'll be able to get back to the surface easily. For some people romance in adolescence is just a stopover. Rarely does it go all the way to marriage.

"Are you afraid our relationship will run aground in the middle of the road?"

"Hem, because we don't know what's going to happen after this."

Dion turned my body back towards him.

"Dea, look me in the eye." said Dion.

"Listen, no matter what happens, we'll go through together. And my heart is only yours, and vice versa. Rest assured, our love will not waver so easily. This relationship is not just monkey love, but it will continue and continue until we are ready to get married" Dion said.

I chuckled, our conversation was too heavy for an 18-year-old.

" Why are you laughing,?"Dion.

"No, I just feel funny" I said.

"What's so funny, then,?"Dion frowning.

"Forget it,"

Dion put his hands away, his face looking annoyed.

"Hey, are you angry,?" I looked into his eyes.

"No,"

"Then why is the face bent so,?"

"Here you go, let's go over there. Too many here,"

Dion pulled my hand towards the bridge that spanned the river and we stopped in the middle. The view is better from here, the reflection of light on the surface of the water looks stunning.

"Dea," Dion called me softly.

" Hum, uh,"

"Do you want to wait for me until I become a successful person,?"said Dion.

I'm staring. Reviewing smiles while nodding his head. Dion stretched out his arms to welcome me into his arms.

"Six more years I'm gonna propose to you, don't you mind waiting that long,?"said Dion. His hand stroked the back of my head. I nodded in his arms.

"I promise, I'll make you happy. Be patient for now. As hard as your life is to live well,"

I buried my face in the chest of Dion's field. My chest arrived - it felt tight. Dion's words touched the deepest recesses in my heart.

" Dea, huh,? You crying,?"ask Dion.

He let go of his arms, tilted his head to look at my face.

"Hey, are you crying, huh,?"

"No, my eyes are flickering," I told a lie.

Dion chuckled, then he scooped both of my cheeks. With teary eyes I returned his gaze. Dion stroked my cheek with his thumb. Suddenly Dion kissed my forehead long ago. After that, the kiss turned to my lips. At first it was just a short kiss. But the situation supports doing more.

I can't refuse either. Dion grabbed my nape and kissed me deeper. Our lips are intertwined. Stamp each other. Looks like I'm getting good. The burning passion of love makes us forget ourselves. The longer the kiss goes deeper.

" Hey, what are you guys doing,!"

A loud shout managed to make us finish the scene. Dion and I looked at each other.

"You perverts yes,"

The voice sounded again. I swallowed my saliva rough. Dion grabbed my hand, grasped it tightly.

"On the count of three we run" whispered Dion.

I'm nodding.

" Ok, One..two..three,_"

Dion pulled my hand, and we started running. Footsteps were heard behind us. I put all my energy into running. I don't know who's chasing, obviously he keeps yelling telling us to stop.

Dion glanced at me, and he smiled instead. We kept running away from that guy's job. Until we hid behind a tree. And the man who was chasing it didn't seem to be anymore, maybe he lost track of us. My breath went out, and so did Dion. But then a moment later we laughed.

Seriate...
