The Unusual Husband

The Unusual Husband
Part 3

The story of Anne and Spencer's childhood.

Mr. Ridhan and Mrs Sandra married in the early 1980s. They had no children during their five-year marriage. However, Mrs Sandra became pregnant with her first child after undergoing traditional herbal treatment.

They were very happy about the first pregnancy, especially after doctors reported that the sex of this baby was male. Well, the most happy of course is Mrs Sandra, she considers this baby is an eraser of her disgrace that was once insulted barren by people.

Finally, the first baby born to Mr and Mrs Halinger was named Spencer Halinger. This cute little baby was raised like a spoiled little king. The best toys, clothes, and food are provided to the heiress of the Halinger family business. Spencer grew up as a child that his mother's father loved.

Madame Sandra still wants to get pregnant again. She plans to have three children, two boys and one daughter. After Spencer was two years old, Mrs Sandra became pregnant again. Pregnancy this time is quite troublesome Madam Sandra because she continues to vomit until hospitalized. Mrs Sandra's condition was weak, and she asked her parents, Mr. Karim and Mrs Tinka, for help taking care of her and Spencer.

After nine months, the time has come for Mrs Sandra to give birth. People say, if vomiting during pregnancy then the sign is pregnant girls. However, Madame Sandra still strengthened her heart and hoped that her second child was a boy as well.

When she was in the delivery room, Ms. Sandra looked exhausted and had difficulty giving birth to her baby even though this was the second time she gave birth. After a night in the hospital, a little princess was born. When the nurse told her that the baby was a girl, how disappointed Madame Sandra and Mr. Ridhan were. That is where the beginning of the favoritism began.

Ms. Sandra did not want to breastfeed her baby on the grounds that she did not want her body shape to change and also because she was busy helping her husband's building materials company.

Finally, three-year-old Spencer and one-month-old Anne were entrusted to the home of Mr. Karim and Mrs Tinka. So, Mrs Sandra did not want to bother and use her elderly and retired parents to take care of her two children. Mrs Sandra did provide shopping money for the needs of her parents and children, and provided a household assistant to ease the burden of Mrs Tinka.

Mrs Sandra and Mr Ridhan once a week come to her parents' house in Jakarta to see their two children. Sometimes once a month, when they are busy working. How fortunate is Lady Sandra to have such a kind and compassionate mother as Lady Tinka. Of course, it is not easy for Mrs Tinka in her senior age, having to take care of two young children, especially the baby Anne who still often wakes up at night to drink milk and change diapers.

Whenever Mrs Sandra and Mr. Ridhan came, they would just take Spencer for a walk and sleep together. Instead, Anne was at home with Oma Tinka, as Anne greeted Tinka.

Madam Tinka distinguishes the school of her two children. Spencer was enrolled in a private school, while Anne was enrolled in a private school near her home. Spencer can take piano and English lessons, while Anne only has English, and many more differences are given to the two children.

One time, Anne ate French fries and Spencer complained to Lady Sandra. Eventually, Lady Sandra scolded Oma Tinka and banned frying potatoes for Anne. Oma Tinka can't do anything because she has no power, is old and has no job. Rough is Oma Tinka just hitchhiking live on her son, Mrs Sandra.

Another event was when Anne had PR make a home-residential masterpiece from cardboard. Anne had trouble, while the PR had to be gathered Monday morning. The day was Saturday afternoon and the Halingers came to stay at Oma Tinka's house. Sandra was angry and finally made the masterpiece on the condition that Anne should not sleep with her parents in Spencer's room. So, Anne ended up sleeping alone in her room. This event is so inherent in the memory of little Anne to adulthood.

Anne found out about her parents who were disappointed that she was born a daughter when she was 10. At that moment, Anne's heart was broken. It's not her fault if she was born a daughter? Why should he be hated and differentiated? It is very conservative of both parents, that the beloved is a boy because it is considered as the successor of the surname and the efforts of the parents.

Anne could only tell Oma Tinka and write in her diary. Sometimes when she was sad, Anne just cried alone in her room. Anne did not have a strong body because there was scoliosis pain in her tailbone. However, Anne is a smart child in her school. Unfortunately, no matter how much the effort to achieve academic achievement, Mr. Ridhan and Mrs Sandra only view it as a matter of course, that is, children if the school must study really in order to get to class. Another case if Spencer is the class champion, it will be greeted with a look of joy by Mr. Ridhan and Mrs Sandra.

Only Oma Tinka and Mr. Handri (youngest sister of Lady Sandra) love Anne. Mr. Handri slams into babysitting Soencer and Anne for a few years before she finally marries her lover. Anne really lost her uncle, but what do you want to say, Mr. Handri should have married, right?

Day by day passed. Anne grew up to be a good child and loved to donate to orphanages. On the other hand, Anne became a stubborn child and full of inner wounds. Only Oma Tinka, Mr. Handri and Grandpa Thomas, the father of Mr. Ridhan, know the good side of Anne Halinger. Even his parents had closed their eyes to his daughter, just because of gender issues. Actually, Mrs Sandra is also strange, if you still want to have a son, why not just get pregnant again? The answer is because you are tired of suffering during pregnancy. Two kids is enough.
