The Unusual Husband

Part 2

Anne's Home.

Afternoon after work. Anne immediately walked into the house and wanted to have a shower and dinner.

"Robert, where are you? What are you cooking for dinner?" ask Anne.

Robert immediately came out of the kitchen and greeted Anne, as well as retrieving Anne's briefcase.

"Hi Anne, how are you doing today? I cooked butter fried chicken and sauteed spinach for our dinner" Robert said with a smile.

"Well, that's great tonight's menu. Okay, I take a shower first huh," Anne said as she headed to her room.

Robert immediately tidied up Anne's briefcase and lunch bag. While lifting the bag, Robert accidentally saw the invitation card for Gerry Bush's birthday party to be held at the Parker Hotel Jakarta. Robert paused for a moment.

"Hmm, that arrogant Gerry wants to celebrate his big birthday huh? And he invited Anne on purpose, definitely to make fun of me at the party later" Robert muttered.

Then, Anne came out of the room and said, "Oh, Robert you want to come with me Saturday night, there's an invitation from Gerry Bush. He's his birthday. I want to come and eat good there."

Robert paused for a moment and then said, "OK, let's go. Oh yes, let's continue chatting while eating yes."

When they were already sitting in the dining room, suddenly a knock was heard at the front door.

"Tok, tok, tok!"

Anne rushed to the front door and looked through the window. It turned out that Mrs Sandra Halinger and Spencer Halinger were scrambling their waists at the door. Sandra is Anne's mother and Spencer is Anne's older brother.

Anne immediately opened the door and said, "Hello Mother and Brother Spencer. What are these nights here?"

Anne guessed their arrival was related to Gerry Bush's birthday invitation.

"Anne, I'm just talking to the point. If you want to come to Mr. Gerry's birthday, you don't have to bring your useless husband. He'll just be a humiliation to all the party guests!" madame Sandra said in a fiery voice.

Anne did not have time to answer, Spencer immediately connected and said, "Wear cool clothes at the party later, do not wear your ugly clothes. We're going to a rich man's party, not to social service."

Robert who heard the noise immediately approached Anne and the two uninvited guests. Robert knew that the two of them must have been insulting Anne and her. Were it not for the kind-hearted Anne, Robert would have long wanted to destroy the Halinger family through the hands of Matt, his confidant.

"Hello Mother and Spencer. How are you?" ask Robert kindly.

"Huh, no need to ask us. Our business is done. Ask Anne what we said. We go home first. Oh yeah, don't forget to stop by Halinger's house and wash my car when you're done with the house's cleaning, '" Spencer said arrogantly.

"Spencer, you don't have to be afraid. Even if we come to Mr. Gerry's birthday party, we won't bother you. We could go alone and with decent clothes. You don't need to be afraid, even you can pretend you don't know us at the party later. Oh yes one more, my husband is not your servant. For the day he helped wash your car because your driver was going home. So, please respect him and don't be rude!" anne shouted loudly.

Lady Sandra and Spencer were stunned by Anne's words.

Anne was a gentle person, but she would turn violent if the person closest to her was insulted. Robert was only a husband on paper, but Anne really appreciated Robert who took care of her for three years. The whole city of Jakarta may be insulting Robert as a useless son-in-law. Robert was a friend to Anne.

A smile rose on Robert's lips. She did not expect Anne to dare to argue with her family to defend her. Although this was not the first time Anne had defended Robert in front of the Halingers, Robert was happy with Anne's treatment of him. Robert hopes that one day Anne will love him as her husband.

"Well, you're a matching couple. Come on, Mom, let's go home. Don't stay in this rickety house for long" Spencer sneered again. Then, Mrs Spencer and Robert left immediately.

"Robert, you don't have to be upset. We don't have to go to the party, why eat well, but if our hearts are irritated throughout the event? We'll just eat at home, okay?" ask Anne.

"No, we'll come there, Anne." Robert had already decided on that and then immediately went to the kitchen to prepare his rice and side dishes.

Anne fell silent.

"With what we're going there, the party clothes alone we don't have, ha-ha," Anne's inner beauty.

Robert turned to Anne and knew what Anne was thinking. Ordinary clothes were in the closet, but fancy party clothes, Anne had none. Anne was busy saving up to pay for the KPR installments. Anne did not want to wasteful to buy a party dress that was only worn once or twice. Not to mention there are water, electricity, gasoline, etc bills that he has to pay every month. Robert was not in thought with Mrs Sandra and Mr. Ridhan who was so miserly and favoritism to Anne. Though they have a building materials company, but why is it so cruel to his only daughter.

Robert pondered for a moment.is it time for him to repay all the treatment of the Halinger family to himself and Anne? Robert dumps his phone and sends a brief Whatsapp message to Matt regarding his plans. A sly grin was seen at the corner of Robert's lips.

"Tap, tap, tap."

Anne's slippers sounded as Anne stepped closer to the kitchen.

"Come, we'll eat, Anne." Robert immediately scooped up the rice and butter fried chicken for Anne. They ate and chatted as usual, Anne helped wash the dishes and Robert wiped the dining table.

The wall clock is showing at nine o'clock in the evening. Anne was already yawning and was about to go to sleep. After Anne entered her room, Robert immediately called Matt and said, "Matt, immediately prepare a beautiful and expensive party dress for Anne and a cool tuxedo for me. I'll avenge Halinger's family and I'll repay Gerry's humiliation to me the other day!" robert exclaimed with fire.

On the other end of the phone, Matt replies, "Your Young Master, ready to do it." Matt smiled anyway. Finally the sleeping tiger woke up as well after being humiliated for these three years. Matt immediately contacted his subordinates to prepare for all the needs of the young Master and Miss.
