The Ruler Of Night

The Ruler Of Night
Chap 34's. Mysterious goa

Half a day had passed since the start of the exam, each group had made a move.

This survival test lasted for 2 days and 2 nights, and we were given supplies that didn't seem to be enough for that long.

"Do you want to rest first?" ask Frey.

"I don't think it's necessary, we have to save that very limited supply" Julian replied.

"He's right, we're halfway there anyway" Kana continued.

"Alright then" said Frey.

The herd of Hyena monsters that surrounded us at the foot of the hill was quite draining, but we also had to save supplies.

After walking for a long time, we finally arrived at the top of the hill, and we could see the atmosphere of the forest from up here.

"Hufh, it turns out that this forest is also vast" said Mio while looking at the view from the edge of the hill.

"Well, and that worries me a little" Frey said.

"About what?" ask me.

"About those monsters, I'm sure there must still be a lot more dangerous monsters than we've faced before" Frey said.

"Haha, maybe" I said with a stiff laugh.

"Where is the scroll?" ask Kana.

"Ah yes," muttered Frey while taking out a map.

Then Frey spread out his map on the ground so that we could all see it clearly.

"From the one on the map, the scroll should be near here" Frey said.

All were silent for a moment while looking at the map, while I continued to pay attention to the circumstances around.

"Hey! look up there" I said, pointing towards the higher ground.

The four of them looked at me, and looked in the direction I was pointing.

"Is that a Goa?" ask me.

"Yes, you seem to be right" said Frey.

"Is the scroll there?" ask Kana.

"We won't know if we don't look for it" Julian said.

"Are we going there?" ask Mio.

"Yes, there's no harm in us trying to find it there" Frey said.

"But it seems like I felt something from inside that Goa," Mio said.

"Is there a monster in there?" ask Frey.

"It feels darker but also quieter than the monsters we encounter" Mio explained.

At that time I felt nothing at all, because I preferred not to use natural energy to save it.

"How guys? are we going there?" ask Frey for another opinion.

"Wait what else?" Julian.

"We are training very hard for something like this" Kana continued.

Then Frey looked at me as if waiting for my answer, and I answered him with a nod of my head.

"All right! we're all going to enter that Goa!" Frey smiled so excitedly.

"And if there really is a monster in there, the five of us will finish it off together!" continued.

Serious expressions began to appear on the faces of the five of us, signaling that everything was ready with what we were about to face in there.

Without wasting a long time, the five of us walked back to be slightly higher than the edge of the hilltop.

Until we arrived at the mouth of Goa, and stopped for a moment to ascertain the circumstances around.

"It looks like there are no disturbing monsters here, unlike when we were down there" Frey said.

"It's best for me and Yuuta to wander around this Goa, just to make sure that no more herds of monsters will surround us" Julian suggested.

"That's much better, please huh?!" said Frey.

Julian and I looked at each other, and gestured with nods of their heads.

Instantly, we both moved very quickly in the opposite direction, to shorten the time we had.

"We wait until they both come back" Frey told Mio and Kana.

Julian and I just walked around the area not far from Goa so as not to get lost.

Along the route I went, I saw a huge bear monster eating its meat under a tree.

Looking like a bear in general but he had a large body and claws, his long fangs also seemed to be enough to perforate a human body.

It surprised me and stopped my steps right in front of him, I did not want to disturb him and immediately left from there.

But the bear monster suddenly looked at me and looked at me, as if he was also surprised and curious about the creature that had suddenly appeared before him.

"Great," I murmured.

"I'd better get out of here."

But when I was just a step away from there, the bear monster immediately got up from its seat and roared very loudly.

Standing firmly with his claws spread out, he blocked my path as if he would not let me go, just like that,

"Come on, I don't want to bother you!" my lament.

Then the bear ran towards me with fangs that were perfectly ready to tear my body apart.

"Alright if that's what you want" said I, who then closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

*BING!!!~

By moving as fast as lightning, I passed through the monster just like that.

"Felt it! a gust of twilight wind," I said as I sheathed back the katana.

Blood flowed profusely out, and instantly the body of the bear monster split in two, with the left and right halves.

Shortly thereafter, Julian and I returned to the gathering point simultaneously.

"Hey Julian's! Yuta! what was that voice?" ask Frey to both of us.

"What sound do you mean? I didn't find any monsters around there" Julian said.

"Ah, it's just a bear monster" I explained.

"The bear monster you said?" frey was surprised.

"really?" julian asked.

"Well, but I killed him, so it's safe around there, too" I said.

"You're not too far from around here, are you?" ask Kana.

"Ahaha, a little bit" I replied.

"A-aah, fine then," said Frey with a slight stammer.

"okay! since the surrounding area is safe, now let's get inside Goa!" said Frey.

With complete confidence, the five of us began to enter Goa.

*Tik~

*Tik~

*Tik~

A sound that is not the sound of rain, but the water droplets from the ceiling of Goa that echo in the darkness.

Making a quiet and dark atmosphere becomes quite stressful and also gripping.

"Geez, it's so dark in here" Julian said.

"Hey Kana's! use your fire magic to light the way" Frey said.

"What's? my spear is not a torch tofu!" refuse Kana feeling offended.

"Come on, it's for the sake of graduation, all of us" said Frey.

"hemh!" muttered Kana turned her face away.
