Chap 27's. Divergence

After receiving some questions and some bad news from Master Hisobu, Shira and I went to the cafeteria together for breakfast.

We talked a little bit about what Merlin said back in the Hisobu Teacher Room.

"I don't understand the exam at all" I said.

"Are you still worried about her?" ask Shira.

"Yes, what if I fail that exam later?" ask me.

Shira gave a small laugh after hearing my unrest.

"I know what Merlin is like, that's why when I knew he was going to be in charge I felt so relieved" Shira said.

"At the same time he said it would be like practice, so you don't have to worry about Yuuta," he reassured me.

"Thank you Shira, you've helped me and my friends a lot" I said with pleasure.

Shortly after, we finally arrived at the cafeteria not far from the park.

"Ah it's them" said Shira who saw Oda and Rin.

Shira and I hurried to get the food that had been prepared, and went to Oda and Rin to eat with them.

"Of course" Shira replied.

Me and Shira then sat down before them, with Rin right in front of me.

"Yuuta, what happened to you ?" ask Rin.

"Ahaha, well there are some things that are not wearing," I replied.

I explained to Rin and also Oda about what had just happened and the news I had just gotten.

They seemed to disagree if the results of my training had been considered strange by the higher-ups.

"Oh, so is Miss Merlin going to do it?" ask Oda.

"Yes, you don't have to worry, I will make sure that Yuuta is okay" Shira reassured Oda and Rin.

"Well, I believe in you two" Oda said.

"Yuuta, spirit is! I'm sure you can!" rin said encouraging me.

"We will always help you!" continued.

Hearing that clearly made me very happy and quite moved, let alone saying it was the person I liked.

Since my break time was already a bit, then Shira and I hurried to finish our breakfast.

After that as usual we returned to the training ground of each class, except for me who had to go to where Merlin was to do the exam.

"Alright, it's time to go back to each other's places" Shira said.

"Yes, I'm first!" pamit Oda's.

"Me too" Rin continued, raising her right hand slightly and waving her hand.

"You're going to Merlin's place, right? Yuuta," asked Shira.

"Yes, I have to go there to finish the exam" I replied.

"Then let me drop off" Shira asked.

"Eh? you're not training with Teacher Ziro?" ask me.

"Hisobu's teacher asked me to accompany you" Shira said, closing her eyes and raising her index finger.

"Ahaha, so that's it," said I who understood Shira's intentions.

Then Shira and I rushed to Merlin's place, which was in a large enough castle with two floors, where there was a special place to practice which was quite spacious on the roof.

The three of us were there to begin the exam to be conducted.

"Previously, your name was Hajime Yuuta?" ask Merlin

"Yes right," I replied.

"You are the son of Hajime Shimazu? a great knight in the kingdom," he asked again.

"Yes right."

"Well, can you feel the natural energy around here?" ask again.

"Hmmm, yes I can feel it" I replied.

"Then, try to gather the natural energy around you into your body" Merlin said.

Then I closed my eyes again with a very high focus, and took a deep breath.

Merlin continued to pay attention to his ability to see every energy that existed.

Slowly, the natural energy that was around started flowing into my body.

Then Merlin created a large magic circle on the edge of the place.

"Now try to break the barrier on your right" said Merlin.

I opened my eyes and took out the horses to conduct a long-range attack.

With the natural energy that had accumulated, I focused it into my clenched right hand.

*Wusssh~

I made a long-range attack, by punching my right hand right in the direction the magic circle was located.

*tresssh!!!

The wind magic I used shot out very quickly, thus making the magic circle disintegrate.

"What's that like?" ask me.

Merlin smiled and let out his small laugh.

"That was just a barrier with dark magic, which cannot be penetrated by any basic magic element" Merlin said.

"Heee?" I murmured feeling confused.

"Then why could it be destroyed just by using wind magic?" ask Shira.

"That's because the energy it uses is neutral energy that comes from nature" explains Merlin.

Then Merlin re-created the magic circle in the same place.

"Prince, now try to break the barrier with your strongest magic" said Merlin.

"The strongest magic? hmm well," Shira said.

Then Shira picked up a sword that was behind her, and prepared to make an attack.

Shira picked up the horses by unsheathing the tip of her blade in the targeted direction.

Instantly a burning fire magic appeared and enveloped the entire sword he was holding.

"FIRE BURST!!!"

Such a fierce vortex of fire shot out very quickly towards the magic circle, and struck it very strongly.

But the attack had absolutely no impact on the barrier, leaving not even a trace.

"What's? how come?" shira asked in surprise.

"Of course, it's because the energy you're using is fire element magic energy"

"While the barrier is immune to all magic elements," Merlin explained.

"So you understand the difference?" ask Merlin.

I answered him with a nod of my head, amazed by the magic power of the two of them.

"Yes, I understand now" Shira replied.

"Hmmm okay, actually what happened to you is not a strange thing," said Merlin.

"I told you, right?!" sahut Shira's.

"No wonder your father was also one of the people who could master the energy of nature"

"He trained for five years on the dragon island, and came back with his newfound strength" explained Merlin a bit about my father.

"Dragon island?" ask Shira.

"Yes, it is a place filled by the dragon race, and guarded by the four cardinal directions gods"

"There is a lot of natural energy flowing, so that one can easily practice mastering natural energy"

"Different from here the flow of natural energy is not as much as there," explained Merlin.

"Dad never told me about it" I said.

"That's why I'm so interested in you, you can master natural energy so quickly even in a place like this" said Merlin.

"If you keep practicing hard, maybe you can become like your father"

"No, it's even more powerful than that" continued Merlin who put great expectations on me.
