The Ruler Of Night

The Ruler Of Night
Chap 23's. Full power

Kirei who had crashed hard enough was now trying to get back up, for him the fight was self-esteem.

He will maintain his high self-esteem by winning the match this time around, despite having to fight with a limp.

"Well, you can still stand? though it would be better if you just passed out earlier," I sneered.

"Don't be arrogant, kid! I'm not done yet" said Kirei.

"DRAGON-"

With flames blazing on both of his swords, Kirei took a step and spun along with the unidirectional swing of the sword.

"BLASTS!!!"

In harmony Kirei swung both his swords simultaneously and created a dragon-like fire that shot extremely fast towards me.

I immediately took a step with my left foot as a pedestal, and held onto the katana using both of my hands.

*BEZZZH~

The fire attack that Kirei launched instantly split in two as I swung the katana vertically upwards.

"Ckkah!"

Decak was upset that Kirei who saw his attack could be broken easily by me.

"FIRE BALLS!"

Kirei kept swinging his two swords, and created a fireball that shot towards me at each swing.

*WUSHH~

*SHHHT~

*DAR!!!

A total of five fireballs shot out in turn, but I managed to dodge and destroy the last fireball.

I grinned after that, as if saying that Kirei's attack was completely useless in front of me.

Everyone even the Masters of the five Classes were amazed by my current abilities, and rumbling sounds started to be heard from above the spectator bench.

"Great!" Audience.

"You're the best!"

"Yeah! I don't know why I liked the boy," said one student loudly.

Instantly a very sharp gaze with a strong aura of intimidation was seen from a distance, it was Rin who seemed to hear the remark.

"Fight Yuuta!" rin shouted as if he did not want to give up.

Meanwhile, it was on the second floor of the arena wall.

"The great power, and also as if it can see all the attacks that lead to it, is unmistakable that it is natural energy," said Megelda.

"What?" ask Ziro.

"Oh so, it's appropriate that Hanz's best student has a very hard time dealing with it" Stella said.

"I didn't know that you could use natural energy, Kojiro?" said Hanz.

"Where could I possibly do it, it wasn't me who taught him to master it" Kojiro replied.

"Of course" said Ziro mockingly.

Instantly Kojiro's sharp gaze was on Ziro.

"But the kid was great too, I don't think anyone else used that power" Stella said.

"Only the chosen ones are able to master that power, and it's still very difficult for them" Megelda explained.

"Seems like you know a lot huh, Megelda?" ask Ziro.

"I found out from the old book that I found in the royal library, there were written various races and powers in this world," said Megelda again.

"Heee, it seems very interesting," Ziro said.

Meanwhile, Kirei who seemed to be keeping his distance with me did not want to make the same mistake again.

"Hey! what was? if you don't want to advance then I will attack you!" say me with confidence.

Kirei just fell silent as if he was thinking of a way.

"All right then," I said.

I moved very quickly towards Kirei,

and made an attack by swinging my katana at him.

With a good enough reflex Kirei resisted my attack with the sword still enveloped by the burning fire, but it seemed like he was unable to accept such a powerful attack.

Kirei tried to counterattack by slashing the other sword at me.

But I quickly brushed it away by swinging the katana, but instead of holding back the counterattack, it was even Kirei's sword slash that seemed to be pushed back by me.

'What?!'

inner Kirei, who was surprised his attack instead bounced back.

'Lack of Ajar!!!'

His face instantly turned furious.

"Hahaha!!!" Shouted Kirei who continued to mount attacks on me.

Kirei's quick attack plus he used two swords, made it difficult for me to counterattack and could only withstand all of those attacks.

I could have continued to withstand the attacks made by Kirei until he ran out of steam, but I also could not linger in this fight.

The natural energy I can gather is still very limited, so I should be able to defeat the opponent before the natural energy I have is drained out.

"YES!!! Die you!!!" shouted Kirei, who then swung his two swords crosswise with all his might.

*Craaak~

*c!!!

Kirei's two swords suddenly broke after making such a powerful attack.

Kirei looked extremely surprised upon seeing that, and only fell silent without a word.

"It's over" I murmured.

I used that moment to make an attack that would end the game this time.

By pulling the katana horizontally, I focus the energy on the right hand and drain it to the katana.

"Wind Blow!"

I made a stabbing motion with a katana towards Kirei without hitting him, as the wind magic hit him so strongly that it made him bounce.

*WOOFHH~

*BLARR!

Once again, Kirei who had run out of energy hit the arena wall violently, and that rendered him unconscious.

Likewise with me who was no longer able to fight, because the attack that just drained the natural energy I had.

With gasping breaths and sweat running down my face, I asked in my mind if this was over?

A moment of silence, as if everyone did not believe what was happening above the arena.

Shortly thereafter Master Hisobu re-entered the arena and confirmed Kirei's condition.

Master Hisobu gestured by crossing his hands up after learning of Kirei's unconscious state, and immediately approached me.

*TENG!!!

The bell marking the end of the match has sounded.

"Game over! the one who won the match this time was Yuuta Hajime!" guru Hisobu loudly announced the winner of the match, while raising my left hand.

"YYYYAHYYYY!!!" Shouted Oda very loudly.

And followed by the boisterous disciples who were watching cheering shouted and called my name.

"Feel that arrogant noble!" shouted one of the male disciples who seemed to dislike Kirei as well.

"You're so great!"

"Show them!"

"Yutaaaa!!!"

From down here, I was moved by those who were happy with my victory over Kirei.

I realized that there were a lot of people who had put their hopes on me, and I felt very happy that I was able to meet all those expectations.

The hysterical Oda, the overjoyed Rin, and the smiling Shira, as well as other disciples who were also from the village, supported me.

All of that gave me new strength and encouraged me to become even stronger, in order to protect their smiles.

I had no idea what kind of road I was going to take, but I knew they would help me when I fell.
