“Come one, come on all! Go ahead and don't be shy!”
"I never believed in love at first sight, but that was before I saw you."
"I hope you know CPR, because you just took my breath!"
"If being sexy was a crime, you'd be guilty as charged."
"I wonder if you're an artist because you're so good at drawing me."
William looked at the scene in front of him in a daze. After entering the temple gate, he found himself in a place that looked like a market.
The beautiful and handsome merchant wearing a unique dress called out to the people who had entered the temple with him. William's colleagues were immediately attracted by the flattery of this man and woman.
The boy was astonished because these merchants were able to utter the most cheesy words of invitation without having to bother. Other than William's group, there were other people wandering around the different stalls as if they were shopping.
William amused because some of these traders even scrambled to attract these “customer” to browse the goods they offer.
While he was still trying to understand what was happening around him, a fat man wearing an elegant robe walked towards him with a smile.
"Good day, young friend," said the fat man. "Are you interested in becoming the strongest man in the world?"
William looked back. Seeing no one there, he looked back at the fat man and pointed to himself.
"Are you talking to me?" William asked.
"Yes." Yeah." The fat man nodded. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gavin and I am the God of all Trade. If you are looking for the most amazing Guardian God in this temple, then that is me.”
Suddenly, an apple hit the back of Gavin's head which made him cry out loud in pain.
"You bastard, how dare you lie in front of the kids ?!" A beautiful woman wearing a "tree hat" filled with small apples roared furiously. “How dare you call yourself the most amazing Guardian God in this temple? Well, forget that lame guy. Come here and choose me as your guardian God. ”
The woman made a "movement come here" and William found her body drifting towards her stall. He did his best to control his body. However, no matter how hard he tried, he could not even move his finger.
In the end, he resigned himself to his fate and floated towards the Goddess stall.
"My name is Lulu and I am the Goddess of Apples," Lulu patted William on the shoulder with a smile. “Have you heard the famous saying about apples?”
"A single apple a day can prevent disease?" William replied uncertainly.
"You're only half right." Lulu grinned.
“Hei Lu! I saw him first! Don't take my son!” Gavin charged towards Lulu's stall with a determined expression.
The Gods within the Shrines were all competitors. Whenever a group of "chosen ones" appeared, they would all do their best to make them their followers before they reincarnated into the next life.
"Go!" Lulu yelled out incompatible with her beauty.
He then took one of the small apples in his hat and threw it at Gavin. Small apples grow in mid-flight size until they become as big as a basketball. It hit Gavin right in his chest which made him fly a hundred meters from his stall.
"You see that, William?" Lulu smile. "An apple a day keeps everyone away, if you throw it hard enough!"
“B-True...,” replied William as he slowly moved away from the Goddess of Apples.
“Aww, don't be like that.” Lulu comes out of her cage and grabs William's hand. “Why don't we know each other first? You know, if you make me your Guardian God, you will receive many benefits! ”
“Um, what benefits?”
“For example, I can give you the power to plant apple trees anywhere. Whether it is a desert, frozen tundra, underwater, or any place you want to grow apples. Heck, you can even grow it in your body!”
"I-It sounds eco-friendly," William stuttered.
"I know!?" Lulu smile. "Now, just sign this contract and we're ready to go."
Lulu took out a contract and a pen from thin air. He even personally handed the pen to the hands of the shaking William and urged him to sign the contract.
William was unwilling to sign the contract, but the representative's grip on his shoulders prevented him from escaping.
Fortunately, Gavin returns and releases Lulu's arm from William.
“Oi! Play by the rules!” Gavin stands between William and Lulu. "You can't force anyone to sign a contract!"
Gavin stood beside William and patted his shoulder. “Do not worry, brother. As long as I am around, no one can force you to sign the contract! Since you have just arrived, let me be your tour guide. ”
Gavin then gave Lulu the question "you have a problem with that?" the gaze that made the Apple Goddess glare at him.
Lulu snorts and returns to her stall, but before doing so, she calls William and tells him that she can always come back to him if she does not find a suitable God for him.
Gavin walked side by side with William as they toured the Bazaar. He answered William's question and even corrected some of the boy's misconceptions about Gods.
“There are three types of Gods,” Gavin explained as they walked. “Primordial Gods, Personification Gods, and New Generation Gods. Primordial Gods consist of Gods born when the multiverse was created. You may know them as the God of Fire, the God of Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, etc.”
“The Personification God is a God born of emotions and professions. The God of Fear, the God of Lust, the God of Vanity, and the God of Pride, are examples of Gods born of emotions. God of War, God of Iron, God of Hunters, God of Music, God of Art, is a God born of the profession.”
Gavin paused before continuing his explanation. “As for the New Generation of Gods, this is a God who has just been born and has very unique properties.”
“Unique nature?” ask William.
“We will soon see one of the Gods of this new generation,” replied Gavin. “Did you see the long queue of people there? They lined up to sign the 'New Generation God's' contract.”
Seeing William's curiosity, Gavin smiled wryly and took the boy to see the Goddess who was standing guard at the stall.
A little girl who seemed no older than twelve shook hands with a teenage boy with a big smile on her face. Her pink hair, red eyes, and cute lips made her look very adorable.
"Sister, I love you!" The little goddess kissed the cheek of the boy. "Now, please sign your name here."
The boy happily signed the contract while the people in line chanted slogans like “Flat is Justice” and “Lolita no Touch!”
William freezes when he sees the little girl and Gavin. He had a hunch about who the Goddess was, but he was not one hundred percent sure.
As if reading his thoughts, Gavin nodded. “This Kiosk belongs to Goddess Loli, Lily.”
"Goddess Loli?"
"Yes. She is the Goddess of the New Generation who was born from a belief. William, don't tell me.. You're one of these assholes-I mean, people with unique tastes?”
"Of course not!" William denies with every fiber of his being.
As if sensing that they were talking about it, Lily looked at William and Gavin. The cute loli smiled and waved at William.
'I'm a simple man,' thought William as he waved back. "I saw a cute one waving at me, I waved back."
Gavin grinned and took out reading glasses from his storage dimension.
"Don't be fooled by what you see" whispered Gavin. "Wear this."
"What's this?" ask William.
“This is a divine artifact called the Glasses of Truth,” explains Gavin. "It can see through any disguise and illusion."
William looked at Gavin with a skeptical look before putting on the glasses. He then looked at the cute girl waving at him and froze in surprise.
The funny loli was invisible. Instead, a midget with a wrinkled face, and a big nose stared back at him. The midget smiled and William could see three teeth sticking out of his gums. One tooth above and two below.
Loli-Grandma winked and gave a flying kiss to William. A pink heart with wings emerged from thin air, and flew towards the youngster. Due to reflexes, William patted the flying heart and sent it to the floor.
Determined to complete his mission, the pink heart cleared itself as it slowly stood up from the floor. He then tried to flap his wings to fly. Unfortunately, William did not give the chance to make a comeback.
He stepped on it and smashed it to pieces. After confirming that his heart was completely destroyed, he escaped as if a demon was right behind his back.
Gavin chuckled as he followed the panicked boy who was running to save himself. In his eyes, William was a very interesting person. If possible, he wanted her to be his follower.
