It took Will two days to forget the spectacular success [Sherlock Holmes] had. After two days, he was already thinking about the future.
Although the media was still busy praising the film and the number of invitations she received for the party exceeded 100, she had no interest in waiting too long.
[Sherlock Holmes] was his best success, and he was very proud of his efforts, but he felt that if he was too proud of it, he would miss the opportunity to do something bigger.
Right now, his mind was already thinking about his company and how to make it bigger.
His ambition is to make Dream Vision one of the Top 6. It's even going to be leading edge, and it's not going to happen with just one movie.
That's why, early in the morning, he called Jeffrey and Amanda to the conference room to talk about the future of the company.
They were both the most trusted people around, and he needed them for his ambition.
So, as the meeting began, Will laid out his plan in front of them.
"First of all, we need to move to a bigger building. Our current workplace is too small, and we will be growing a lot from now on. Second, we need efficient people in all departments and better equipment. Dream Vision can't last as long as a one-man company always."
When it started, Will had just acquired a company to produce films for himself, but now after the success of [Sherlock Holmes], he would make them at Foxstar and Z studio level.
Amanda understood where she was headed and agreed.
"Will, then we have to recruit a lot of people and renting another place will cost a lot also depending on how big a place you want. We're going to need a clear vision of where we want to lead our company."
Hearing her response, Will felt Amanda had thought about it.
"Sounds like you have an idea?"
"Yes, that's pretty obvious when you talk about talent agencies. You are just waiting for a big success and [Sherlock Holmes] has already given you that. So, with the money in your hands, you can do a lot of things."
Jeffery was the only one who was silent in their conversation, and when Will looked at him, he scratched his head.
"Jeffery, don't you have any thoughts?"
"I don't know much about business, and the only thing I learned in college was how to operate a camera." Jefri laughing.
"But you know about Hollywood?"
"That's what I do. We can help you connect with people you can work with. Besides, I need to know what's in your head?"
Jeffery looked at her with narrowed eyes. Knowing Will, he had already planned everything and only after he was sure of his success would he tell them.
Will coughed slightly and finally revealed a bit of his plan.
"I want to produce 4-5 films in the next year."
Amanda's eyes widened, and she hurriedly asked.
"Will, there's not much time left in this year. Maybe half a year. We can't release this many movies in such a short time. And what do you mean production?"
"I'm not saying to release it this year. We can just record it and release it later. And yes, I will produce it. Dream Vision needs to produce his own films now because I can't direct them all."
As Will explains this, Jeffery asks a question.
"So you're going to be watching these movies as a producer?"
"No, you'll be my producer, Jeffery."
"What??"
For a moment, Jeffery thought Will was joking. But when she glanced at Amanda, she did not look as surprised as she had already expected this.
"Amanda needs to manage the company, and I'm busy with my own affairs. I need someone to produce the film, and you're the only right candidate for this."
"Why me?"
"Especially because you know movies, you are someone I trust with my money and can you think of anyone else I can trust with this job."
Jeffery could not answer for some time, pondering over Will's words, but in the end, he nodded his head.
After all, there was no reason to refuse.
"I'll write it. I already had an idea and had completed a script called [1917]. We'll get the director and make the whole production to shoot everything."
"Oh, that's why we need to expand the company and get better equipment."
Amanda added, and she nodded her head. Next, he explained about the type of building model he wanted.
Since most of his business will also be his talent agency, Will wants half of the building to be for the agency. The first two floors could be a production studio, and the next two could be a talent agency, with the fifth floor consisting of Will's office, Amanda, Jeffery, and a conference room.
Jeffrey points out that a five-story building will cost a lot to rent, but Will isn't worried about the money.
He will get at least about 350 million dollars of his shares from 1.1 billion dollars for [Sherlock Holmes]. The money is still through tax cuts.
In the future, when [Sherlock Holmes] stopped running in the cinema, he would get more parts.
Moreover, he had plenty of money, thanks to the FP conversion rate.
"We also had to hire a lot of people for all departments, and Amanda, did you make the list that I said too?"
"Yes, and it looks like we're gonna have to fire some people."
Amanda said with a wry smile.
As pre-production of [Sherlock Holmes] was underway, he asked Amanda to supervise the department head and other prominent staff members.
Although he did not fire people when he bought the company, he still doubted whether they could be efficient enough.
So, she had Amanda watching, and she had found a lot of people who were not very good at her job, and there were even some people who would divulge information.
They had to fire him first and remove him with a more efficient one.
"It seems like hard days are ahead of me."
Amanda said, thinking of the word she suddenly had. From going through a real estate office to choosing a building to managing recruitment interviews.
"Yes, but it's only for a while. Once we're through a stable period, you can rest."
As Will said that, he shook his head.
"No, this is exactly what I wanted. I've always wanted to be the CEO of a company that can reach the top, and I feel that Dream Vision is the only one. After all, do you have someone in mind to lead the talent? the agency? I can't handle it either, you know."
"Yes, I have one person. But I need a meeting first. And Jeffrey, I need you to handle the DTA for now."
For the record, DTA stands for Dream Talent Agency. This was the name Will had determined for his agency.
"I can do it for a while. But I'm not very good."
Jeffery answered honestly, thinking about his experience.
"We have to announce Robert and Ewan's relationship with the DTA next week because [Birdman's] announcement will happen by then. You just need to act as a temporary head."
"Then, it's okay."
Thinking about it a little, Jeffrey found it a bit unreasonable. He was the first to tell Will that his plans about an agency were ridiculous, but now he would act as the agency's interim head.
Things are different now too. Will was a great success back then, but it was not comparable to [Sherlock Holmes].
Afterwards, Will talked more about the studio and the talent agency. He has a clear plan in mind, and with Amanda's point, his plan gets better.
It was decided that talent agencies would hold auditions from all over Hollywood to find talent, and for the recruitment of management positions at Dream Vision, Amanda would handle it.
He had many connections in this sense that he could utilize.
It was only at night that the three of them left the meeting room.
For a while, the staff at Dream Vision wondered about what the meeting was about and even the head of the department was curious about it, but no information was provided.
The next day, Dream Vision's 'purification' began with 19 people being given eviction letters, including two major department heads.
