The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 50

"Hello, everybody. I'm the new owner of the company, Will Evans."

Will came out and said with a smile.

"Ah, so that's true."

"The company has really been sold."

"He's very young. Did he say his name was Will Evans?"

"Isn't that the director of the recently popular Blair Witch movie?"

"What's gonna happen to us? Are we unemployed now?"

Silent muttering and chatter ensued among Krown Studios employees. An atmosphere of agitation and anxiety surrounds them when their future uncertainty leaves them desperate.

Krown Studios is at a low point of late, and the remaining employees are there for sentimental value instead of the minimum salary they get. They were treated very well by Frank, and now that Frank has finally retired and sold the company, they have no idea what will befall them.

Will knows what they're going through. He walked past them and finally stopped in front of a middle-aged woman.

"What's your name?"

He asked with a smile.

"I'm Tiana from the Visual Department."

He answered while pondering what he was trying to do.

"I'm the new owner of this company; nice to meet you. I hope you will do your best like everyone else to make the company prosper."

“Ah..ini...”.

Now everyone understands where Will is going with this. It's like telling them, 'I've bought that company, and I'm not going to kick you out; you're still a company employee.'.

Will walks around the office and finally jumps up and sits at the table.

"I have bought this company, and I have no intention of expelling you. Even though the ownership and management of the company will change, you will still work and work. Of course, you need to renew your contract in accordance with the new policy."

"You are all someone who is experienced in your work, and I look forward to your full cooperation and dedication to this company. I'd love to chat with you all, but I'm short on time, so are you." You guys."

Will said with a smile and looked around at the crowd.

"You can take a day or two off, decide whether you want to work for the company or not and then sign the appropriate agreement. Whoever decides to stay, they need to prepare themselves because I already have a big movie production plan out and have to start working on it right away."

Everyone's eyes sparkled when they heard Will's last sentence. It was a great movie by Will, the star newcomer director, would at least be able to break even just because of his recent popularity, and if it really worked out, their lives would change.

"What kind of movie is that? Another camcorder movie? I'm good at handling cameras."

A skinny man asked, and Will shook his head.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but it will be a real cinematic film. I don't need a company if I plan on just making movies on video cameras, do I?"

"Ah, yes." He nodded, and Will turned around, facing all the employees.

"The film I'm going to direct next is worth tens of millions, and I need you all to help it be a success."

Everyone cheered to hear it. Due to Will's age, some people still don't believe him, but even they know that he is a multi-millionaire thanks to [The Blair Witch Project].

In the end, they just clapped and hoped everything would go well.

Frank saw all this and just smiled to himself. He was still reluctant to give up on his company, but perhaps, it was for the best.

After all, he was old, and the future was for the young.

He only hopes Will can realize his dream of making an Oscar-nominated film.

***

In the evening, Will and June go out at a small restaurant close to her apartment. They are here to celebrate because it is a day of success.

Like Will, June also managed to bag the role of Maggie. Edward was very pleased with his portrayal, and his performance was on target.

What's more, with his closeness to Will, there are more reasons to include him in the role.

"I can't believe I got the role. It's like a dream!"

June said cheerfully and took a sip of wine in her hand.

"Congratulations, June."

Will said as he raised his own wine glass lightly. He usually doesn't drink, even he hasn't drank at all since he moved in. But today is special. As June herself says it's okay to let go once in a while, she agrees to have a drink.

Surprisingly, after taking a sip, he received a system notification.

[Drinking wine for the first time]

He didn't expect this, but after much deliberation, he couldn't help but consider the deep bond that alcohol has with Hollywood.

Will just chuckles to himself and decides to let it go for now. After all, he was here to enjoy his time with June, not with the system.

"You know, I was actually a little messed up and thought that I wasn't going to get the role. But Edward told me to try again, and I was so nervous and self-conscious that I didn't do anything wrong later."

June said, her expression was still bright like a star but her cheeks carried a healthy red hue, perhaps due to the excitement of getting a role maybe from wine, or maybe both.

"Oh, Oh. What about the company you are talking to? Did it all work out?"

June asks Will as he thinks that he is the only one who is talking and continues to babble.

"Everything's going well, there's actually only a few documents to complete, and the company's already as good as mine."

will said gladly. He was very happy that the company matters were going well, but he had not felt like taking a break; he wanted to get the Actors Agency as well.

"Good job! By the way, have you decided on a name for that company?"

June asked curiously. As far as he knows Will, he's sure he won't run the company under his existing name.

"Actually about that, yeah, I've thought of a good name."

As he took another sip, Will said that the food was just a garnish as the two were just busy with their conversation and wine.

"Wait for what else? Aww come on, tell me what it is .. please."

June gives Will puppy eyes as he only laughs at Will's antics.

"Dream Vision Studios .. that's the name I've decided."

Will said as he waved the wine glass in his hand with a smile.

"Ah.. that's.that's a good name."

June commented with emotion.

"Yes, well, I've been thinking about it in my college days. It was my dream to have my own company, and I had a vision to be the best director, this was just the beginning of many of my dreams that would come true."

Will said confidently, and June could only look at him. If another man were to say it, he would definitely take it as nonsense and would not bother.

But Will said this. He did whatever he said he would do. And he was not arrogant about it, but it was his confidence that made him say such things without batting an eye.

The belief that she found it very sexy.

Will only chuckled, looking at June, who was staring at him with a predatory gaze.

"I want this company attached to my identity. The name of this company should appear whenever someone talks about me and vice versa. I've even thought of a good logo for that company."

Will said as he took another sip and sighed, looking somewhat tired.

"I'll be busy from tomorrow. I also need to find a capable CEO for the company and hold board meetings to stabilize the company situation. Not only that, I also had to obtain the rights of [Sherlock Holmes] from Z Studios. as well and enter the pre-production phase for the film."

"Wait, what? Sherlock Holmes's? I mean, you told me that you needed to buy the rights of some existing company for your new movie, but I didn't know that the movie was Sherlock Holmes… right?”

June said somewhat cautiously. It's just natural.

In this world, someone has made a Sherlock Holmes movie in the 90s. It was called [Detective Sherlock Holmes], and it was a film that people considered to be one of the greatest disappointments in Hollywood history.

If Will made a remake, it would be affected by that bad reputation as well. Reputation is very important in Hollywood.

Will, who already knew what kind of reaction he would get from the audience in the early phases of the film, was ready for something like that. Nevertheless, it did not disappoint him; instead, it gave him a challenge that he would overcome with his own efforts.

"Will, I really don't think you should try to buy the rights. That's too risky."

june said, hoping she would change her mind. He felt Will was betting too much in a fickle industry like Hollywood.

"I understand your concern, but please trust me. How about this? The script is almost ready, so you can read it and tell me if it's good or not. If you think it's gonna fail, I'm gonna give it up." ."

Nada's self-confidence makes June a little confident in her project. He nodded his head and replied,

"OKAY. It's just I don't want you to make the wrong move."

"I know."

Will softly said and squeezed his hand.

She feels this is just the beginning of her journey, and even if no one believes her enough, June will.
