The Love of the Unknown Man

The Love of the Unknown Man
Last 30 Chances

Inside the study, a man stands gazing at the view of London through a glass wall. The man kept daydreaming about something as both of his hands were put into his pants pocket.

The man's ears caught the sound of the door opening. However, he was silent unmoved as someone stepped foot into the room.

Until someone who had just entered stopped right in that spacious room.

“Starting next week, I want you to handle my work here. I have to go home to Indonesia,” said Gustav to take his eyes off the city view, then turn his body to look at Gordon who just entered.

“Just trust me, Gus.” One end of Gordon's lips curved upwards.

“By the way, not usually you are willing to meet the woman who will be betrothed to you.”

Hearing this, Gustavo clucked and threw himself into the seat of his greatness. He cast a sharp glare at his cousin who was one year younger than Gustav.

“That's not my goal to go home. I have another purpose. Never mind, I just want to convey that,” said Gustav who then threw attention to the laptop on the desk.

"Is that all?" Gordon gasp. For he was called only to hear one sentence of command from Gustav which he could speak by telephone.

There is no word from Gustav that Gordon also chose to leave the workspace of his cousin.

After the door closed, Gustav received word from Henri that Lisa would be transferred to a branch hospital. Then a smile appeared on Gustav's thin lips.

Then Gustav contacted his confidant who was assigned to handle the construction of the village where Lisa lived.

Gustav wanted to find out to what extent the construction had gone on and Gustav smiled faintly when he got a report that everything was in order.

From the photos sent by his men, it looks like the village has now undergone many changes.

Village roads that were once only rocky roads, are now on asphalt with the best quality. Tower Tower was established so that communication access is smooth.

Not to forget also dams and clean water channels that are deliberately built so that villagers no longer have trouble getting clean water during the dry season.

“You definitely wouldn't have expected the change of your village, Lisa. I did all this because I knew you would definitely return to your village,” Gustav murmured.

Then Gustav threw his back against the back of the chair. Sighing for a moment then her fingers shifted the screen of the phone that displayed a photo of Lisa at graduation.

During this time, Gustav had placed some bodyguards that Lisa was unaware of. The bodyguard periodically reports on Lisa's condition. So it's no wonder Gustav's cell phone is filled with photos of Lisa.

Just as Gustav was looking at Lisa's photo, a phone call came in with Grandma's name on the screen.

Gustav sighed in frustration as he knew that his grandmother was calling just to discuss the matter of matchmaking.

“Halo, Gus, Grandma heard you were going home to Indonesia,” Camilla said as soon as the phone connected.

“Yes, Grandma. What's wrong? Don't tell me Grandma will introduce me to a woman,” says Gustav uninspired.

On the other end, Gustav heard Camilla sigh.

“Grandma does not believe you have a lover because in fact until now you have not introduced him to Grandma. So Grandma will give you one last chance.”

Gustav massaged the base of his nose. A sign that he was very dizzy about Camilla's behavior as if always managing her personal affairs.

Even for love affairs. Gustav never thought if later he married, would his grandmother also arrange the affairs of his bed?

“Grandma, I will indeed introduce Lisa to Grandma when I come home later,” said Gustav firmly.

“OK, fine. But Grandma gave a time limit until Grandma's birthday. If at the birthday event you can not bring a woman named Lisa, then Grandma will marry you to the woman of choice Grandma,” Camilla's greeting is no less firm than the grandchild.

Then, Camilla hung up the phone unilaterally which made Gustav throw his phone on the table then scramble his frustrated hair.

For a moment Gustav weighed. However, before long, Gustav again straightened his back because now in his mind crossed an idea.

A red car drove at moderate speed across a deserted country road. A woman who became a car driver seemed amazed at the scenery of the village.

Moreover, the state of the village now looked different from the last time he left.

The woman slowed down the speed of the car when her bead saw the dam that looked like it had just been built. The corner of the woman's lips rose to form a smile. Then he returned to his car.

Until he arrived at the yard of the house that had been abandoned five years. The car door opened and the woman's legs came down on the green grass.

“Lisa?” a heavy voice called out the woman's name which made her turn to the source of the voice.

“I didn't see wrong, did I? You Lisa?” said Doni as he swung his legs closer to Lisa.

Several times Doni blinked his eyes looking incredulous to his sense of sight.

While Lisa only smiles to be able to meet again with her late father's friend. The man's hair is now gray and wrinkles are clearly visible in the corners of the eyes.

“True. I'm Lisa. Mr Doni, how are you?”

Doni laughed and patted Lisa on the shoulder. The two men began to chat until Doni's eyes glanced at the car that Lisa had been riding.

“This is your car?”

Lisa nodded in response.

“Wah now you are a successful person. Your late father and mother must be proud of you, Lisa.”

Both of Doni's eyes sparkled as he stared at the red car in front of him. Although he is an old man from the village, but he knows with confidence if the car owned by Lisa was priced at an expensive price.

Even Doni unceasingly praised Lisa's car.

“Actually this car I got from the raffle prize,” said Lisa scratching her non-itchy head.

Honestly, Lisa was surprised by the events she experienced for approximately five years. Because not infrequently Lisa gets a prize in the name of a lottery, give away, or something like that.

Including the red car that now belongs to him is the car that he got right on graduation day.

Not wanting to take a headache, Lisa turned her body to see a very well-maintained house. Make Lisa's forehead shrivel.

The house he had left for so long was not only well-maintained. However, it is obvious that the house has been renovated.

“Pak Doni, who has renovated my house?” Lisa asks Doni who still faithfully admires every part of the car.

“Oh, that,” Doni glances at the house and then stares back at the car.

“A few years ago, there was a man coming here. He said you sold him this house. So I wasn't too suspicious when the guy did the renovation,” Doni said.

The frown on Lisa's forehead is getting more and more visible. As he remembered he did not sell the land and house that was the only relic of the father. Even the land ownership papers were still kept by Lisa.
