Chapter 8 - Visiting Mitha's Cake Shop
The next morning, Nadine pulled out her small suitcase. It made both his parents both astonished and confused.
"You want to get out of this house?" ask Rita.
"If I'm gonna run away from last night, Ma. Where is it possible to also carry a small suitcase like this," Nadine pulled a chair and sat down.
"Mama thought you were going to run away with her" Rita said.
"I want to go with him, Ma."
"What!" Rita looked surprised. "You want to run?" continue asking.
"What am I running for, Ma. Better get in the car," replied Nadine smearing bread with jam.
Malik who heard it laughed.
"Serious mom, Nadine!" upset Rita.
"I'm serious too, Ma."
"Where are you going with Dito?" ask Malik.
"I'm going out of town to see Mitha, Pa. I haven't seen him in a long time."
"Why not just send Mitha here?" ask Rita.
"Mitha has been very busy lately, the last time we met was the night before the incident" he replied.
"Have you told him you were coming?" ask Rita.
"Yet, Ma. I wanted to surprise her, "he replied.
"What if he's not there?" ask Malik again.
"Yes, Dito and I are going to spend some time together. We're not tied to a marriage with anyone anyway."
"You have to keep your distance from Dito, remember because the man was your engagement relationship ran aground" said Rita.
"Yes, Ma. Me and Dito can take care of themselves. If Papa and Mama want him to propose to me, today he will come to do it, too" Nadine said casually.
"What would Darwin's family tell you if Dito proposed to you?" ask Rita who doesn't like it.
"Leave it, Mom. Our relationship is over, papa has given us some money. If they dare bring up the past of me and his son, I'll tell everyone." Nadine said with a smile.
Nadine's phone rings.
"Send him to go see Papa!" malik.
Nadine picked up the phone and replied, "Papa told you to meet him, so please come in!"
Nadine hung up on him.
Shortly after Dito appeared, he was very polite greeting his parents Nadine.
"Dito, we meet often but I don't know about your family yet. Can you explain it?" ask Malik.
"Pa, just ask for an explanation later. I want to go out of town" Nadine replied.
"Papa just wants to know who you are friends with" said Malik.
"Father if you want to know who Dito just ask Darwin, he knows all about it" explained Nadine.
"Papa wants to hear straight from his mouth, Nadine."
"Look at it, Om. I'm going to get someone to Om Malik's office to explain who I really am" Dito said.
"Why should you tell someone else? They could be lying" Rita said.
"Ma, enough. Me and Dito have to go. Tomorrow afternoon we'll be back, you guys take it easy. There's nothing special between us" Nadine said.
"Alright, Om will wait for your man at the office" said Malik.
"Then we leave. Go Dito!" take Nadine.
Once in the car, Dito questioned why Nadine was carrying a suitcase.
"I don't know the weather conditions there" Nadine gave an excuse.
"We'll be able to stay at the hotel if it's hot there" said Dito.
"Yes, I know. Don't ask too many questions, quickly turn on your car we're leaving. I can't wait to meet Mitha and chat with her."
"All right, Miss!" Dito started the car engine and then sped up.

The journey took 2 hours, finally Nadine and Dito arrived at Mitha's cake shop.
The two women hugged each other.
"Why not tell me if you're going here?"
"I want to surprise you!" Nadine let go of his embrace. "I miss you so much, we haven't seen each other in a long time" he continued.
"But you should have said that you were coming, so I could prepare something" Mitha said stammeringly.
"What do you want to prepare? No need to bother, if we overnight can stay at the hotel, eat and buy. Is there something you're hiding from me?" ask Nadine.
Mitha did not answer immediately.
"Hey!"
"There's nothing I'm hiding, aren't we best friends?" Mitha smiled.
"Yes, you're right. Now quickly give us a drink, I'm so thirsty" Nadine said.
"All right, wait a minute!" Mitha stepped towards the mini kitchen that was inside the store.
Nadine and Dito sat in the available seats.
Dito looked around Mitha's pastry shop.
"I didn't expect Mitha to open a cake shop like this" Nadine said.
"Do you doubt his abilities?"
"No, just a year ago he said that his parents broke the car rental business and lodging must be closed" said Nadine.
"So, where do you think he's from to build this?" ask Dito.
"I don't know either, I'll ask" replied Nadine.
Mitha came up with 2 cups of warm tea and a few pieces of cake on a medium-sized ceramic plate.
"I'm sorry, I'm just presenting this. If you want to eat, I'll take you to the restaurant up ahead!" said it.
"It's okay, we'll just eat your cake!" Nadine.
"Why can you go with him?" ask Mitha.
"Who should I go with? Darwin and I are over. He has time, which is why I'm taking him" Nadine explained.
"Oh," he said briefly.
"Mitha, you once said that both of your parents went bankrupt. Where did you get the capital to build a store this big?" ask Nadine.
Mitha glanced at Dito and replied, "From my savings."
"Oh, so. But, I salute you. Being able to save and build this store, especially the price of land on the edge of the city is very expensive" said Nadine.
"Eh, yes Din. It's just a lease, I can't afford it" Mitha said nervously.
Mitha's phone rang, she looked at the caller's name carefully. He deactivated it.
"Who? Why not answer?" ask Nadine.
"No, anybody. Just a prankster!" answer Mitha.
"It turns out there are also pranksters who bother him, just like me!" Dito quipped as he grinned looking at Mitha.
"Yes, right." Nadine chimed.
"If he's a prankster, why do you still want to be close to him?" mitha asked Nadine.
"Because I had no choice, he was always on time and on standby" Nadine said.
"It looks like you and him are a good fit too" Mitha chirped.
"Don't say that, he'll be proud" said Nadine, making Dito pull his hair back.
"Kan, you guys are so familiar," Mitha said.
"It's just a coincidence, somehow he's different from Darwin" Nadine said.
"I've never told you, if I was the best," Dito said proudly.
"You better get married" Mitha advised.
"It looks like we should wait for you to get married first" Dito sneered.
Mitha swallowed her saliva.
