Chapter 2 - Interrogated

They are now in Malik's residence. Nadine and Darwin sat next to each other. Dito sat across from them.

Rita sat still with an upset and angry heart.

"Who gave an explanation first?" ask Malik in a standing position.

Nadine, Darwin and Dito looked at each other.

"Me, Pa!" answer Nadine.

"Explain!" he said he was trying to contain emotions.

"The night I met Mitha at the nightclub, I ordered an orange juice drink as usual. I don't know why after drinking it my head's dizzy, Pa."

"Then why are you in the room with Dito?" ask Darwin.

"I don't know either" he answered.

"Call Mitha right now!" malik's orders to his daughter.

"Good, Pa." Nadine called her best friend.

Nadine explains why she called Mitha and the woman is willing to be a witness.

While waiting for his daughter's friend to come, Malik asked Dito, "Is it true that last night you weren't alone with Nadine?"

"I came to the hotel because I got a message from someone. The contents of the message said that Nadine was in danger" Dito showed a chat on his phone.

"He's lying, Om!" Darwin stood up to show Dito's face. "Nadine used to tell me that she wasn't comfortable with Dito, but she kept getting close to Nadine" he continued.

"I do like Nadine, but not in this crazy way!" Dito also stood up and gave a defense.

"Darwin, Dito, sit down!" malik's orders were trying to calm down.

"I have a photo of Nadine and Dito together!" Darwin opens his phone and shows Malik some photos.

"Pa, me and Dito are just friends" Nadine explained. He turned his eyes to Darwin, "Why would you accuse me of that?" he asked with a sad face.

"This is proof, Nadine. You and Dito are obviously having an affair!"

Nadine stood up and said sternly, "That's all slander, you have to believe me!"

"I can't trust you anymore, after the incident at the hotel," Darwin said.

Nadine sat down, she came back crying.

Mitha came, Nadine then stood up and hugged her best friend.

"What's really going on?" ask Mitha.

"Please explain to my parents and Darwin. Who was I with last night" replied Nadine with trembling lips.

Mitha also explained that she was with Nadine last night, after which she left because of business.

Shortly after his affairs were completed he returned to see Nadine, once he reached the nightclub he had Nadine home.

"I contacted Nadine, but her phone was off" Mitha explained.

"Mama, Papa, listen to Mitha's explanation. I'm defamed!" said it.

"Sorry, Om. I still can't continue this engagement, let alone Nadine being so very familiar with Dito. It could have been the three of them conspiring to cover up the affair" Darwin accused.

"Me and Nadine don't cheat!" dito said firmly.

"really? Then why are you hugging my future wife?" ask Darwin.

"I hugged him because he had given me a surprise" Nadine replied.

"Wow, surprise someone else's lover" Darwin said.

"Yes, because he was there when I needed you. Where have you been all this time? Yesterday morning I said I'd fly to Switzerland, how come it's so early in the city?" Nadine defends Dito.

"I want to give you a surprise, it turns out that I even get a surprise from you!" darwin.

Nadine laughed bitterly.

"Can I go home?" ask Dito.

Rita, unable to contain her anger, approaches Dito and slaps him.

"Mama!" pekik Nadine and Malik.

"Because of this asshole, my daughter failed to get married!" rita Maki.

Nadine approached Dito, standing behind him.

"Ma, Dito's innocent. He is also a victim of slander" Nadine said.

"You keep defending him, do you have a relationship?" ask Rita.

"No, Ma." Nadine replied firmly.

"Dito must marry Nadine!" malik.

"What!" Rita and Nadine looked shocked.

"Mama doesn't agree, Pa!" reject Rita.

"Nadine and Dito have slept in bed, Ma." Malik.

"We didn't do anything, Pa!" Nadine said firmly.

"If Om marries Nadine to Dito it only makes Malik Ikssa's family cornered. Everyone is going to ask me why Nadine and I ended the engagement" Darwin said.

"What Darwin said is true, Pa. We can't possibly marry them off, our big surname will be smeared. They'll insult us for not taking care of Nadine" Rita chimed in.

"You see, Nadine. A good man like him you've betrayed!" said Rita.

Nadine was silent.

Dito clenched his hand, he wanted to vent his anger but he tried to hold it back.

In the afternoon at Darwin's parents' home.

Darwin had told him everything about the betrayal Nadine had committed to him.

Perrie and Selly are very sorry for Nadine's attitude, even though they like her so much.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Perrie. We as parents cannot take care of and educate Nadine well" Malik said.

"We really hope Nadine will be part of this family" Perrie said.

"As our apology and fulfill the promise.I will transfer the money to your company account, Mr. Perrie." Malik.

Nadine, who had sat down and lowered her face, raised her head. "Money? What do you mean, Pa?"

"We promise that if one of you betrays you, he will have to compensate you" Malik replied.

"What kind of deal is that," Nadine looked unhappy.

"That's why you don't betray us, so our money's gone!" tangent Rita.

"I've told you, I'm not a traitor!" said Nadine.

"Everything has happened, Nadine. I'm sorry, I can't marry you" Darwin said.

Nadine stood up, "I'll prove that I never betrayed you!"

"Please, but I won't change my mind, Nadine." Darwin said here.

"It's up to you to change your mind or not. I don't give a shit!" Nadine leaves Darwin's house.

"Nadine, where are you going?" Rita shouted to her daughter.

"Once again forgive us!" malik.

"Yes, Mr. Malik." Perrie.

Nadine who was upset, disappointed, angry and sad could not hold back her tears. He left Darwin's residence in a taxi.

Nadine then contacted Dito but the man's cell phone could not be reached. He was increasingly disappointed, finally Nadine chose to go to a beach located on the edge of the city where she lived.

Nadine screamed loudly on the beach where there were no visitors. "I've never lied to you, Darwin!"

Nadine was sitting on the beach, crying. All her dreams of marrying the man she loves are memories.

Nadine's phone rang with Dito's name, and she rushed to pick him up.

"Hello!"

"Where are you?" ask Dito at the end of the phone.

Nadine told me where she was.

Half an hour later, Dito arrived at the beach.

"What else did you see me for?"

"Didn't you call me first?"

"I called you just to say that I hate you so much!"

Dito laughed a little hearing it.

"You're laughing because I'm glad I didn't get married to Darwin?" tuding Nadine's.

"Din, I'm not happy. You should be grateful to be free of Darwin."

"Thankful you said? Since our engagement is over, my family has to give money to them!"

"Money?" Dito scrunched his forehead.

"Yes, my papa and Darwin's papa have a pact. If one of us betrays us, then whoever becomes a traitor must give some money and that's not the least" replied Nadine.

"So, this is the reason he made an offer to me," Dito's inner self.

"It's all because of you!" Nadine screamed in the man's face.

"Nadine, I'm sorry."

"Are you sorry you could give Darwin back to me? No, right?" stop with a high note.

Dito was silent.

Nadine was back on the beach.

Dito did the same.

"Why is it still here? Go!"

"I'm not leaving, I have to take responsibility for you!"

"Imresponsible? We didn't do anything in that room!"

"Yes, but I'm the man you're in bed with!"
