Chapter 20 - Mitha And Darwin Plead

The next morning Darwin came to Nadine's office. Yes, he came to tell the woman if Dito had threatened her lover.

"I don't want to meet him, please get him out of here!" Nadine's orders.

"Good, Miss."

Darwin seemed annoyed that the office receptionist told him to go home.

Darwin threw away his embarrassment and sent a message to Nadine, asking her ex-fiance to return all of Mitha's pastry shop customers.

Nadine simply read the message without answering it.

Darwin didn't want to give up waiting for Nadine to get out of the office in his car.

And sure enough, Nadine came out of the building walking alone.

Darwin got out of the car and ran to his ex-girlfriend. "Nadine!" call him.

Nadine turned her head, then continued her footsteps.

"Nadine, wait. I need to talk to you" said Darwin.

"There's nothing we need to talk about anymore" Nadine said without staring.

"But I need us to talk!"

Nadine stopped her steps and turned her back, "What do you want to talk about?"

"I want you to return Mitha's cookie shop customers" Darwin replied.

Nadine scrunched her forehead.

"Your husband-to-be has slandered Mitha" Darwin said.

"Oh, great!" Nadine smiled instead.

"Nadine, I admit I was wrong. But, please don't ruin our business!" begingly.

"Have you forgotten that you destroyed me?"

"I don't forget, please forgive me and Mitha!"

"I've forgiven you, so get out of my life!"

"I promise I won't bother you anymore!"

"Alright, then I don't promise to return your customers either!"

"Nadine, only you can speak to Dito" Darwin said.

"I can't help because our marriage is about to take place. Better, just meet him!" Nadine stepped up and entered her car.

Darwin headed to Dito's office building. Until he was denied by the security guards.

"I want to talk to Mr. Pradito for a moment" Darwin said.

"Sorry, Sir. You are forbidden to enter this building. Lagian Tuan Pradito is not here. He's out of town" the man explained.

"You're not lying, are you?"

"What are we lying for, sir."

Darwin then passed.

An hour later, the two met at a cafe.

"How's it?" mitha asked impatiently.

"I haven't succeeded."

"Why?"

"Nadine told me to see Dito but he's out of town."

"How long has he been out of town?" ask Mitha.

"I don't know."

Mitha looked silent and thought.

"You're the only one who's seen Nadine" Darwin suggested.

"You put where my face is" Mitha said.

"As much as you want your customers back or not!" Darwin was upset.

Throwing away her ego, Mitha went to Nadine's office alone. He walked into the building.

"I would like to meet Miss Nadine Malika" he said.

"Sorry, whose name are you?"

"Mitha."

"All right, wait a minute!" the woman's employee then contacted Nadine's secretary.

Soon he hung up and said, "Sorry, Miss Nadine doesn't want to see you."

"I am his friend!"

"Sorry, I'm just following Miss Nadine's orders."

Mitha who was upset then left the building. In the car, he bent his face.

"How's it?"

"She doesn't want to see me at all" Mitha replied.

"How else can we meet them?"

Darwin thought for a moment.

"Are we going to Nadine's parents' house?" mitha.

"I don't want to!"

"Then we wait for Dito to come home from out of town" Mitha said.

"Forced, we don't have a choice anymore."

"May Dito forgive us!"

"Yes, I hope!" darwin.
