In the business world, profit and loss is common. The ebb and flow is always traversed by business people who are just pioneering their business. And that is what is happening now in a small business owned by a hijab-wearing woman from Indonesia named Jinan.
The first six months of starting the business, the restaurant that Jinan founded with the help of Ria and Rico family was very extraordinary development. But as he entered the seventh month, Jinan's business slowly began to decline. Especially since Jinan implemented a slow order policy at certain times in his restaurant three days ago, making Jinan restaurant look much quieter than the previous days.
Jinan implemented this slow order policy to invite his employees to worship on time. Yes, Jinan did have aspirations, if when he had a business later, he wanted to apply the kebijan close order on his business. Where the time of worship has arrived, all employees who are Muslim must leave their work to perform worship.
He wants to familiarize his employees to pray on time so that this effort becomes a blessing. In addition, so that the employees who have never or are used to retreat the prayer time become accustomed to praying and on time.
Because he lives in a country that is majority non-Muslim, so Jinan did not close all orders. He only gave a slow order policy. Which is where five to ten minutes before entering prayer time, employees who are Muslim must prepare for ablution to perform congregational prayers. And for the rest of the non-Islamic employees will work as usual.
With the policy he made, many customers prefer to eat elsewhere. The reason for that was because they waited too long for the food to come. How not for long if only one person cooks. But even so, Jinan will never change the policy he made. For him, if we put God first, then God will put our interests first. It is just that at this time, perhaps God is testing it by making his efforts lonely so that God knows whether Jinan prefers his world over He who has the world and its contents.
This afternoon when Jinan was about to walk in after giving a close order on the entrance glass, suddenly his resto door glass was knocked from the outside. Jinan turned around, he saw a handsome man with a flat face knocking on the glass door of his restaurant.
The door that was actually unlocked was now opened by Jinan, he smiled at the man before greeting him.
"Good day, sir. Can I help you?" ask Jinan in German.
The man remained silent as he looked at Jinan's face. A second later he regained his senses from his daydream as Jinan flicked his finger in front of his face.
"Can I help you?" jinan asked again when she saw the man as if she had just realized from her dream.
"Oh, yeah. Is the restaurant closed?" ask the man.
"Our restaurant is still open, only for food reservations is closed until the next thirty minutes. If Master wants to order a drink while waiting for our chef to finish praying, our barista can serve you now."
The man scrunched his forehead. "Two days ago you implemented a slow order system, why is it now a close order?" ask the man again.
"One of our chefs is on holiday, and the other two chefs are currently praying, sir."
The man had not heard Jinan's words, he was seen observing Jinan's distended stomach.
"Master?" call Jinan by shaking her hand in front of the man's face.
"Why should they be together, can't they take turns to pray? Not everyone who wants to eat here wants to wait for this kind of thing" the man protested in a casual manner.
Jinan smiled. "Yes, I know that. This policy is personal to me, and I never force people to wait until my employees finish praying. Aren't there many restaurants here? You and the others can eat wherever you like, not just in this restaurant," Jinan said calmly. Yes, one of the keys he learned from Rico in dealing with customer complaints is calmness. With calm, customers will think that what we say is true and can not be contested.
"Get aside," said the man.
Jinan frowned, not understanding.
"You waiting?" ask Jinan plain.
"If not, I'll go."
"Oh okay," Jinan said quickly. When it is difficult to find customers, golden opportunities like this should not be wasted. When else would anyone willingly wait for a plate of Jinan-style Asian home-cooked food.
Jinan shifted, giving way to the man. At the feeling that the man had already stepped in, Jinan muttered in Indonesian. "Basic bule."
Jinan was shocked as the man stopped his steps. Jinan put on a relaxed face with a smile as the man turned around and looked at her.
"What did you say?"
"I didn't say anything, sir," Jinan said evasively. He thought the man had not heard, but it turned out that the man's ears were quite observant as well with his voice. But that's okay, anyway the guy won't understand what he's saying, Jinan thought. But it turns out that Jinan's guess was wrong when the man asked her one question.
"Do you think I'm deaf?" said the man in Indonesian.
Jinan turned her eyes. "Gosh," inner.
He could not believe that the man understood his language.
"You can speak?" ask Jinan. He tried as quietly as possible as if he was innocent in every way.
Instead of answering, the man went away from Jinan. Jinan let out his breath while shaking his head. He closed the door and stepped into his private room to perform dzuhur prayer alone. He did not participate in the congregational prayer because the greater content it makes it difficult to move quickly. If he attended prayers for long hours, there he would miss the movement. Each person's prayer reading is different.
...
The next day, while Jinan was with Ria and Rico had just arrived at his restaurant, he, Jinan saw the figure of a handsome man who yesterday afternoon willingly waiting for the completion of the close order time to enjoy food in his restaurant was sitting at the same table with the man who was sitting yesterday.
Jinan thought the man was a regular customer of his restaurant since it had already been two consecutive days eating at the same place. It's just that the difference is, if yesterday he came at the time of close order berangsunv, but today the man came before the time of close or slow order took place. It was possible that the man did not want to wait as long as yesterday, he thought.
Jinan stepped about to enter his room and ignored the man. But who would have thought if the man called Jinan by saying his name. Jinan turned her body to look at the man, pointing to herself as a code to the man that whether or not the man was calling her.
The man nodded and managed to make Jinan frown. How did the man know his name, Jinan thought. Ria and Rico who saw it were no less shocked, while here Jinan had no friends other than them, but they were, but how can there be a handsome foreign man just mention Jinan's name as if they are already close friends.
