The next day is better than the day before. My ankle was better and I could walk around, although I was still a bit limp while walking.
When looking around in my very much wardrobe to find something simple and comfortable to wear, while I was still wearing a towel, I was looking for something simple, I felt something cold and hard under my fingers in one of the drawers. I grabbed it and pulled it out. That's my phone. The conditions are still the same. The cracked screen and the scratched plastic cover are still intact and I prefer it that way for strange reasons. I almost forgot that my phone was there. Mrs Jenson had told me the day she showed me my finished room that the phone was placed in one of the drawers. And then I completely forgot about it.
My eyes are wide. It's been more than a week since we were kidnapped. And with that phone, I completely forgot about Mrs Odin. Oh, my God, he's gonna kill me.
I immediately turned on my phone, the battery showed that the battery power was only three percent.
I pushed myself off the floor and pulled another drawer where I was sure I would find a charging device for almost any gadget. I pulled out a charger at random, which seemed to be a good fit for my phone. Sure enough, it turned out to be a good fit and I put my phone on the nightstand, plugged it into an outlet to charge it.
Realizing that I was still unprepared, I hurriedly pulled out a dark red off shoulder top to be paired with black jeans.
I combed my hair, tidied up the tangles and left them on my back. I walked to the door, making sure it was locked. Then I rushed back to my phone, releasing it to charge. My phone battery is 14 percent charged.
Even so, I traced five or a few contacts I had and clicked on Mrs Odin's name. Thankfully, I still have the pulse on my phone.
The phone rang for about thirty seconds before someone picked it up.
"Hello?" The weak and soft voice of the familiar Bu Odin greeted me and I wanted to cry. I've missed him.
"Mrs Odin," I choked.
"Julie?!" I heard Mrs Odin flinch from the other end of the phone, "Julie, is that really you?" She asked, her voice shaking and I suspected she might be crying.
"Yes, Mrs Odin. Yes, it's Julie" I replied.
"Where have you been all this time?" He asked in panic. "You and Olivia never showed up after you went to that party. You don't come on Sunday. Neither of you came for a whole week. I'm so worried about you two. I called you many times. I'm afraid something's happened to you. I called you both," he paused for a moment to sigh. "Where are my children? I also visited your apartment and Olivia's. But they're locked. When I asked the landlord, he said he didn't know where you were." She paused for a moment and I felt my eyes glaze over at the sight of Madame Odin who had been through so much trouble just to make sure we were both safe.
"I'm sorry" I said, suddenly crying. "I'm sorry, Mrs Odin. I didn't mean to worry you. Olivia and I, we're fine. Don'worry. And I'm so sorry we didn't go to work. I know it must be hard managing a cafe alone and-"
"Shut up, Julie. I'm not mad because you didn't come to the office. I was angry that you didn't answer me when I called you to ask if you two survived or not" she said.
It made me cry even harder. "We're doing fine. Yeah, we're fine. Don'worry. Mrs Odin, please listen to me. We don't know exactly where we are but we are safe. And I'm not sure if I should tell you even if I believe you. But I can't tell you. Know that we are stuck in some very strange things and we are not sure when we will get out of this. But we're fine and we'll be back, I promise. And please don't fire us" I asked.
"Julie, what? I don't understand-"
I was blown away as Mrs Odin's words were cut off by a loud knock on my bedroom door. My heart was beating thousands of kilometers per hour and I subconsciously grasped the phone in my hand tighter. I'm not really quiet. Oh my God, there's someone at the door. What if the guy hears everything? I wish it was just Olivia.
I heard Mrs Odin say something from the phone. I immediately stuck the phone to my ear, cutting off his words.
"Mrs Odin, I have to go. Please take care of yourself and don't worry about us. We love you" I said hurriedly before severing the phone roughly, but I had no other choice.
The knock continued and I put my phone in the drawer and quickly wiped away my tears. I stole a glance towards the mirror. At least I don't look that bad. While tidying my hair and wiping my cheeks, I walked towards the door and opened it with my heart still pounding.
"What took you so long?" Ethan asked with a frown on his face. Okay, everything's fine. He doesn't know anything.
"What do you want?" I asked, sounding a little more rude than I meant.
He raised his eyebrows at my tone, "I know you're not worth talking to," he said, shaking his head, "and to answer you, I just want to check on you, you know... are you okay or not. But then I heard a whisper and a slow breath from your room," he said, putting on a face, "and I think someone hit you."
My eyes widened and I hit his arm. "You're evil. Get lost."
"That's not a good way to say goodbye" he said as he stepped closer. I refused to show him that he intimidated me.
"Of course, I've never been nice to a donkey like you" I replied.
"What are you doing?" He asked, ignoring my words and looking into the room. "Who are you talking to?" He leaned his body closer. "And are you crying?" He frowned while observing my face. I thought I almost saw his arm raised towards my face, but he quickly lowered it. "Not that I care," he said with a straight face, his frown disappearing for a long time.
I try to keep a calm face. "Nothing, I just got dressed. And I'm tuning music, so maybe that's what you hear," I said confidently, trying to sound convincing.
"You can't be trusted. But I don't care what you do, so whatever," he said, stepping away and I let go of a restrained breath, "May your day be pleasant" he said before turning to leave.
Just barely.
I have to tell Olivia that I have spoken to Mrs Odin. He needs to know. I wish I did the right thing. I trudged down the stairs, found Dennis in the kitchen. I remember when he told me yesterday how he enjoyed his days playing tennis with Dennis.
"Hi, Dennis. Do you know where Olivia is?" I asked. He looked up from his job and smiled at me.
"On the tennis court" he answered.
"You're not playing with him?"
"No, he invited others to play with him" he said, looking sad. "By the way, how's your ankle?"
"just fine. It's getting better" I said, staring at my ankle. "I'm going to go see Olivia" I said and she nodded.
"okay."
I walked out of the house and into a tennis court near the beach and swimming pool. And sure enough, I saw Olivia, sweating like a pig while bending over, trying to catch her breath.
"Olivia!" I called him but he didn't seem to hear me.
I approached the pitch and then I just saw who he was playing with. Tristani.
"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked as I stepped into the field.
"Isn't it clear?" Olivia asked, looking frustrated while glaring at Tristan.
"He lost," Tristan said with a small laugh. "What happened to the words I'm gonna beat you up, see?" He scoffed.
"The game is not over!" Olivia growling. "I already know the outcome!" Tristan tease.
"You'd better give up if you don't want to complete the challenge!"
"What challenge?" I asked, but not to be confused.
"I never give up! You should know that by now!" He snaps.
"Olivia! I have to tell you something important. Come on, you can play later," I whine.
"No, Juliet! I have to win this. I have to show this madman who he's really playing!" He said in between breaths. "NO! NO, THIS CAN'T HAPPEN!"
"OH YEAH, YEAH IT CAN!" Tristan shouted from the other end.
"No, I can't lose! Nah! It's all your fault, Juliet! If you're going to shut up!"
Oh, so he lost. "Shut up, it's not my fault that you don't know how to play better than him!"
Tristan laughed on the other hand, unscrewed the water bottle and gulped it down greedily. He was sweating, his white shirt stuck to his body that accentuated his tight muscles and stomach. For a moment, I thought I saw Olivia gawking at him. But it might just be my imagination. Olivia would never like a guy like him. I mean he hates it. He has shown it clearly more than once.
"So..." Tristan speaking. I didn't realize that he had been on our side, "about the challenge..." He let the sentence hang, because he knew Olivia would understand.
"I won't do it" Olivia insisted. "I was just kidding. I know I won't lose!"
"Oh, but you just did," said Tristan arrogantly.
"I'm distracted!"
"Oh, not Olivia," Tristan wiggled her finger at him. "You don't have to blame me for distracting you. It's not my fault you drool at me."
"Oh, please, you are as attractive as dementors to me!" Olivia retaliated.
"Then, I think you'll like a dementor's kiss" Tristan said with a frown and let out kisses. I scrunched my forehead.
"Ew, in your dirty dreams."
"Friends, hush! Can anyone tell me what a brave thing it is?" I asked, tired of their constant bickering.
"No!"
"We agreed that I would never show my face again and would stay away if he won, and he would kiss me if he lost" Tristan replied.
"No way, Tristan. My lips will never approach your slimy lips," he said, looking at her with disdain. "Who knows where your lips have been" Olivia added, sneering.
"You talk as if you've never done anything dirty" Tristan rolled his eyes.
"Oh, believe me, I've never."
Tristan looked surprised. "really?"
"Uh huh," murmured Olivia while taking a towel to wipe the sweat on her forehead and neck.
"But I'm sure your mind is not as innocent as your body" he said with a grin.
"What do you mean?" Olivia asked, chugging the bottle of water she was drinking.
"Tell me," he said, still grinning. "What's hard, long, wet and there's semen in it?"
Olivia's mouth was open like mine. "W-what?"
"You heard me. Tell me what is long, wet, hard and has***** in it?"
Olivia said nothing.
"A cucumber, of course!" Tristan said, laughing out loud. "I know what you're thinking, oh pure."
Olivia's face flushed with anger. "Shut up" he spit.
"Hey, I'm just getting started!" Tristan whining. "One more thing, what is a six-letter word ending with L ?"
Hahh.
"Speak, Olivia! Your mind is dirtier than a gutter" said Tristan, clearly teasing him.
"Tristan, shut up" said Olivia, throwing her towel at Tristan. "Or better yet, I'll go."
"Oh, at least listen to my last word!"
"No, I'm not gonna do it."
"What goes in hard and dry, but comes out wet and soft?" Tristan continued walking, ignoring him.
Olivia was fed up with it and walked out of the field. "Your penis!" He yelled at her while I rushed after him.
Tristan's laughter was so loud, I'm sure everyone in the mansion heard it. "No, not my dick. The answer is gum, you pervert!" He shouted back, still laughing out loud.
I couldn't help but a small laugh came out of my lips, but it instantly fell silent upon seeing Olivia's sharp gaze.
"I have to tell you something" I said as I grabbed her arm. I lowered my voice, making sure no one was eavesdropping. "I've spoken to Mrs Odin."
"You what?!" Olivia almost screamed. "Wait, I'll take a shower and after that I want every detail."
"OK," I said, letting him pull me and take me to his room. While she was bathing, I waited in her room, checking her out. The room is huge. Not as grand and beautiful as my room, but still amazing. The room had a large bed with dark blue pillows and a large blue blanket, a study table and chair, some beautiful paintings hung on the wall, a large closet full of clothes, bags, and a large, and shoes. The walls are painted white.
"Tell me what happened" said Olivia, her hair wet over her head, just coming out of the bathroom. He was wearing dark blue jeans with a pink top.
So I told you everything that happened. How I remember my phone, what prompted me to call it, what we talked about and how Ethan almost discovered the secret.
"I hope it's not a big mistake to call Mrs Odin" I said after I finished explaining everything to her.
"Come, Julie. I don't think it's going to be a problem" he said, but I could hear the uncertainty in his tone. "I hope this won't cause us any problems. But please don't do something like this without telling me. We have to be careful. We can't trust anyone. We can't let anyone know."
"I know, Olivia. I'll be careful next time."
"It's better that way."
We sat in silence for a while until Olivia decided to break the silence. "How's your ankle?"
"good. It healed quickly, fortunately. Ethan's gonna pay for it, "I'm pissed.
"Well, what happened to me going to be a bigger person'?"
"I don't think I can do that. If she decides to act like a child, plan a silly joke to get back at her, I can show that I'm better at it."
Olivia smirked at me. "I support you. Let's do it, girl!"
