The Immortal Fire
Chapter 48: Planning

Xue Hongli walked into his room holding a scroll of paper, then placed the thing originally on his desk.

"Shi Xia!" call him with a little scream.

The person in question was that his personal bodyguard was now running in droves before Xue Hongli, he immediately bowed before the young man respectfully. "Gong Zi."

Xue Hongli grabbed one of the scrolls he had just brought and handed the thing to Shi Xia, he looked riled up and slightly depressed.

"Find and investigate the person in the painting. He was the only eyewitness to Prime Minister Huang's murder case," Xue Hongli ordered without turning his eyes.

Shi Xia quickly opened the scroll and watched the painting printed on top closely. "A waiter?" ask him to yourself.

Xue Hongli nodded. "This servant is the servant of Prime Minister Huang Shen's residence. Before his death, this waitress looked suspicious and then finally asked for permission to return to her village after the funeral was over."

"Gong Zi, you mean... This servant has something to do with Prime Minister Huang's death?" asked Shi Xia to make sure.

"This is uncertain, so we must investigate before the clues and eyewitnesses disappear." Xue Hongli shook his head briefly and turned towards the chair behind his desk.

Shi Xia smiled as he looked at the eyes of his master. "Once upon a time relax, Gong Zi. You look exhausted."

Xue Hongli patted Shi Xia's shoulder slowly while chuckling softly. "How can I relax when this country is in trouble? Not to mention the mission given by the Great Elder never finding the end, we don't have much time."

"Regarding the Decree of God and the Heavenly Weapon, the past few days have begun to develop. It was most likely that the existence of the precious treasure had to do with the loss of the Phoenix Tribe from the martial world many years ago," explained Shi Xia who had begun to seriously discuss their topic.

Xue Hongli raised an eyebrow. "From that, I am more worried about the alliance of Tang groups that want to overthrow the regime, the current state of affairs is really an emergency. Especially against a war that will soon break out in the near future."

"So what are you going to do, Gong Zi?"

Xue Hongli pondered for a moment, his eyes glaring far away and languishing.

"Get the Fourth Prince."

...***...

"Chairman Zhou-! We got it!!"

Zhou Li who was meditating was jolted when he heard the shouting sound from the front door of his room, the boys really could not calm him down for a second.

The middle-aged woman immediately got up to open the door to her little guests who were already waiting out there.

Without any welcome, Jia Li and Fang Yao immediately darted into the room. Zhou Li already knew their habits, so he did not bother about it too much and soon caught up with the two boys after closing the door of his room again.

"How was the selfish Chief conquered?" zhou Li asked opening the conversation.

Jia Li smiled so widely that he showed a row of his teeth. "He finally gave up after seven rounds, fortunately so many witnesses made his cunning unable to move freely."

Zhou Li heard it. He then serves a pot of tea and the glass, not forgetting their favorite pastries.

Jia Li sipped his tea with vigor, he looked satisfied with his victory. "That means, we can catch up with Liu'er and freely exit the sect."

"Stupid-!" rutuk Fang Yao spoke up. "You think this is all over? We need strenuous training in not so long a time, I'm not even sure you'll be able to break through the next level."

Jia Li elbowed Fang Yao in annoyance, he did not like the young man's words as if lecturing him.

Zhou Li took out a few boxes containing pills from within his small cabinet, then looked at them in turn. "Son Fang, you don't seem too happy. I think it's a pretty good achievement, why don't you look enthusiastic?"

Fang Yao paused for a moment before replying, "I just feel no more powerful than Long Feiye, also a little hesitant about escaping in this test."

Zhou Li laughed crisply at the young man's words, it seemed that he was starting to lose his confidence. Zhou Li opened one of the greenish-colored pill boxes and placed it before them.

"The YuTong test is divided into two branches of martial arts, namely Sanda and Taolu. Sanda is the battle number in Wushu, relying on strength and doing battle directly based on the competition rules. While Taolu is a branch of the race that matches the style or round of the movement without any fight or physical contact with the opponent, usually depends on agility and eloquence accompanied by aesthetic values. What weapons did you choose?" zhou Li asked after elaborating on his explanation at length.

Jia Li nodded in understanding. "So the competition doesn't have to fight to the death?"

"Stupid."

Fang Yao flicked Jia Li's head so as to be the start of a bickering between them, the girl even replied back to him many times over.

"If you look at the current state, Xiao Li is really bad at swordplay. He was also no match in the Sanda branch, his ability was below average," Fang Yao concluded to make Jia Li frown in annoyance.

The girl looked at Fang Yao not accepting. "Just talk about yourself, don't put me down and look at me as if I'm a weak person."

"But you are weak."

"Hey, you-!"

Zhou Li began to get caught off guard by this debate, he thrust the pill over and over again, but no one responded. "This item may be able to help a few percent in your improvement, no one is interested?"

Their focus shifts. Jia Li instantly grabbed the palm-sized box before Fang Yao could grab it, they almost waved the war flag again.

But Zhou Li quickly interceded, he hit the table a little hard and muttered, "I don't expect you guys to be the ultimate winners, qualifying in the top ten should be enough."

His smile slipped, he was certainly not too concerned about the limits of their abilities, but at least passing the examination alone was enough to have access to the entrance and exit of the sect.

Jia Li narrowed his eyes seeing Zhou Li smiling suspiciously, the almost old woman was indeed always unpredictable.

"In the Sanda Games, each participant will hang a small bell on his waist. According to the rules, the winner was who could snatch the bell from his opponent in the fight. So I don't think victory is always in strength but cleverness, using a little trick to get you to win the game. As for Taolu, gentle movements will not be difficult for you Xiao Li."

Fang Yao listened closely, his eyes glaring far away as if he was entering into his own delusion. "How long is our time?"

"If it counts solidly, then two months is your time for a full workout in totality," Zhou Li replied with the corner of his lips raised up.
