The Fate of Adipura Kingdom

The Fate of Adipura Kingdom
51. The War Begins IX

They believe that the opposing cavalry has lost more than half of their strength making them nothing if they are desperate to hold their movement.

When they reached the sea of corpses and horses that fell victim to the arrows of the opposing forces, their movements became a little hampered because the bodies were blocking their way.

“Take it! They are dead!”

“Do not stop, you guys have more important tasks!”

“Quick! Hurry along! Hurry along!"

The Patih who joined the reinforcements cried out to the soldiers he led. They ordered that the movement not be stopped because of the road that was blocked by this sea of corpses.

But in fact it is not easy, sometimes the soldiers who are running must fall to the ground because they stumble with the bodies of their colleagues.

With great difficulty they were finally able to pass through the sea of corpses even though it was only half of it, but eventually they could pass through it but of course with considerable effort.

They then connected the running to narrow the distance with the cavalry from the other side. But to their surprise a moment later, dozens of large-sized arrows faintly visible in the air shot towards them quickly.

Seeing the large arrow made their hearts beat faster, not because of love but because of fear of what would happen to them. The leading troops who had passed through the sea of horse corpses then lifted their shields to take cover so that the arrow did not hit them.

Just as they thought dozens of arrows were about to land right in their direction the instant they heard a shout from behind. It turned out that the large arrow shot down right in the sea of horse corpses, the troops who were crossing the sea of corpses that became the target of the arrow.

"This scent is not foreign!"

"Isn't this the scent of torch oil?"

"Yes!"

What the soldier said was true, the large arrow was equipped with a small but large number of jars. The jars were filled by the torch oil of Patih Purno's command bag, when the arrow landed on the ground or stuck into the body of the enemy troops who are dead or still alive immediately the jar broke and pulled out the torch oil.

Not yet had they thought of what his opponent had done moments later there was a soldier shouting hysterically.

"Rain arrows! Raining arrows!"

Suddenly the other troops immediately turned to the soldier who shouted earlier and found that from the sky now thousands of arrows were pointing at them.

Seeing the thousands of arrows coming quickly made the soldiers who were in front again raise their shields intending to hold the enemy arrows. In fact, the arrows were not fully able to be held back with their shields, this was because their leaders did not have enough experience in dealing with this kind of situation.

He only ordered that his soldiers raise their respective shields, useful but only temporarily. Because of the large number of arrows, his troops had to receive more casualties as well.

The leader of the enemy reinforcements was lucky, out of the thousands of arrows that shot down him not hit by any of the arrows that came. He looked at the surroundings that were currently filled with corpses as well as arrows that stuck in the bodies of his soldiers and that stuck on the ground.

The scene turned even worse when he saw thousands more arrows flying through the air, his body instantly trembling at the sight of it. Just finished one attack, now that the next attack had come and led to them again.

He fell in a kneeling position, what he saw would be impossible for him to bear. He then closed his eyes ready to accept the fate that will happen next.

In fact, thousands of arrows never fell into their place but passed through it. Thousands of arrows were now aimed at the troops who were in the sea of corpses and horses that were struggling through the place.

Because their limited movement made the troops in that place easy targets of thousands of arrows earlier. More than half of the enemy reinforcements had to fall for not being able to do much to even survive.

The most victims were right in the sea of dead horses because they were huddled through the sea of dead bodies. That's why when the attacks of the thousands of arrows came there wasn't much they could overcome.

The sea of corpses again increased by a very large number, seeing the second attack had succeeded Patih Purno and gave direction to the soldiers beside him.

"Now! Fire arrows!"

The soldier nodded his head and immediately made a movement of raising his spear using both hands. The old man understood the meaning and after that thousands of arrows with fire at the tip of his arrow shot towards their opposing forces.

Thousands of arrows equipped with the fire shot quickly to where the sea of dead bodies of horses, after which the fire blazed brightly when the sun was almost dimmed.

"Aarghghghhkk...."

"Aarggkp... Tol.gk.."

The screams of extreme pain echoed as the flames devoured the sea of corpses. Because not a few of the troops who were hit by the attack of thousands of arrows were both wounded and trapped in a sea of corpses.

The fire quickly spread and became a huge blaze because the torch oil had previously lubricated the lifeless bodies. A very terrible sight then occurred, from within the blaze a heartbreaking cry filled the ears of everyone who heard it.

The reinforcements who made it through the sea of corpses were horrified. They clearly saw some of their comrades trying to get out of the blaze but in fact their bodies were unable to withstand the heat from the flames that gnawed at their bodies.

The smell of meat charred alive burst into the air, the enemy soldiers who smelled the unpleasant aroma fell down a lot and pulled out their entrails.

They closed their eyes and closed their ears as much as possible, they could not see the suffering of their comrades who were in a blaze that was getting bigger and bigger and devouring the sea of lifeless bodies.

The flames continued to burn and devour everything around him, the screams of pain were now inaudible because the wounded troops in the blaze were finally killed by the red hero.
