The conversation that night continued with a light discussion. Billy and Milly spoke to each other in a calm mood. Discussing Milly's new job which turns out to be housed in the Wahana Group branch under Billy's own supervision.
Sometimes they put on a serious face during their discussion of serious things. But not infrequently they laugh when their conversation is funny and funny.
For a moment they were both silent as the chatter stopped in the middle of the road. Either out of words or topics of conversation, or maybe both are busy with their respective inner struggles.
"Milly," Billy's voice was heard breaking the silence that night.
"Yes," Milly who looked down immediately turned her head, returning Billy's gaze that seemed to be seriously aimed at him.
"I want to talk."
"Huh? Have we not spoken since?" the little girl smiled faintly, while her eyes were twitching with a happy look.
"But this time it's serious." Billy firmly with a fixed eye gaze that persisted without blinking.
The smile on Milly's face faded along with the onset of an unpleasant premonition that suddenly swirled in the head. But as much as possible, he remained calm.
Giving a smile, Milly turned the sitting position until it turned more toward Billy. He looked steady with confidence, as if ready to listen to whatever Billy would say. Eye contact ensued between them, until Milly said, "Speak, sir. I'm ready to hear it."
"How do you feel about me?" ask Billy quickly and without further ado.
The question surprised Milly. Milly who had previously looked calm was suddenly wracked with confusion. Don't know what to answer. Moreover, Billy's view is not at all shifted when observing it, to make it clumsy and misbehavior.
"Why do you ask like that?" milly asked then in a stammering voice.
"Because it's important for me to know."
"For what?"
"There is no misunderstanding between us."
"Misunderstand it?" Milly frowned. "What does Father mean? Sorry, I'm still confused about this," smiling wryly Milly spoke frankly.
"You never thought I was in love with you, did you?" Billy responded with a question, but in a slow tone. His eyes seemed to narrow while watching Milly as if he was researching.
"Fell in love with me? "Milly acted as if she was completely unexpected. "Geez sir, how could I dare to think that ...!" he said while laughing and shaking his hand.
While Billy frowned confused by the strange reaction that Milly showed. Because clearly the laughter sounded made-up without any trace of happiness or the element of humor there that makes someone amused and provoked to laugh.
"Why are you laughing?" ask Billy later because he feels weird.
"Because you're funny." Milly answered briefly after stopping her laughter.
"His cut?"
"Funny Father's thoughts. When I think you love me, that's impossible?"
Billy looked at Milly with a flabbergasted expression. Increasingly surprised he even scratched his head that did not itch before then raised the question. "Can you say? Impossible how"
"Because we are different, sir, we are like the earth and the sky. Boro-boro thinks you're in love with me. Good father as I was already grateful thank God." replied Milly in a humble tone. The little girl smiled bitterly and lowered her head, rubbing her soft knees wrapped in sleeping pajamas.
"Then what about you? You never thought about falling in love with me, did you?"
Hearing the question, Milly who had initially lowered her head immediately raised her head. His expression also seemed stiffened when he returned Billy's gaze as if waiting for a response.
Somehow Milly felt Billy's question contained a trace of prohibition, as if he didn't want Milly to really fall for him. Of course it raises prejudice in the mind of Milly, so that's him until Billy forbid him to love.
"Mr ...!" milly exclaimed with a pat on Billy's shoulder. Truly a reaction beyond Billy's expectations, even the sudden clap managed to shock the sternly-casted man. "Aya-aya wae the father, ah!" (There's only one, Father, ah). "Where may I fall in love with you ...!" milly firmly followed by his booming laughter.
"So you don't love me?" Billy stared fixedly at the pair of netra Milly as if he was looking deeper into how the girl really felt.
Hufthh,, good." Billy seemed to sigh in relief. Afterwards the man put a happy smile on his lips. "Just our status is tied to marriage, if our hearts can not. Don't rush it more precisely. Let everything flow like water. I really don't want to give you false hope, Milly. I'm sorry," she said with regretful eyes.
"It's okay, sir. I really understand. Even though we live under one roof, we can still live each other's lives. You do not have to be disturbed by my presence. Let's just say I don't exist. And I will try not to disturb the peace of your life." Unknowingly Milly's fingers were clenched. Although his lips ceaseless smile, but he could not be denied now his mind was destroyed like being crushed by thousands of stones.
While Billy seemed to be nodding faintly, it was as if he was in agreement with what Milly had just said. "Milly, do you know?" tanyanya while looking at Milly.
"Yes" Milly's voice rang out as she said.
"I've been used to my quiet and quiet life. I was too busy thinking about work and I loved it. For the time being I don't want to be bothered with any other business, let alone it's about the heart or the woman. I brought you here just because I felt the responsibility to marry you. But I hope you understand how our marriage came to be. I can't easily drop a heart on someone who has previously scratched a wound. Honestly, I used to hate you for thinking you set me up." Billy paused his speech while researching Milly's reaction.
"I understand Sir. I'm sorry that this bond really makes you depressed." Milly replied in a sorry tone. Salut, because so far he's been so smart to hide his feelings. He was still calm as if he was okay.
"I don't blame you or your father, Milly. Maybe it's all fate to be lived." Billy was silent, then sighed softly. "In love affairs, I feel not as lucky as men in general."
Milly turned away surprised to hear Billy say that. He immediately directed his curious gaze towards Billy.
Billy chuckled when remembering the history of his love story that never felt the sweetness of romance honey. But the laughter sounded bitter without a trace of happiness.
"From several times in a relationship, I always end up abandoned because my busyness is too dense. All my exes want me to be who they want me to be. Always there when they need it. Take care of them in the salon. Dating every Sunday night. But I can't be like that!" Billy spoke in a high tone at the end of the sentence. "I always make promises but can't keep them. I really suck, don't I?"
Milly shook her head as Billy looked at her with eyes filled with a trace of wound. "No, I don't suck. But you're so focused on work that you forget about your personal life." Milly spoke softly, as if she was giving strength and refuting the desperate words that Billy had uttered.
"I'm always serious when I decide to commit. I really love the woman who was once my lover. Maybe it's because it's not a soul mate, to have to lose what I love."
"And ended up suffering by marrying a crazy girl like me, didn't you?" Milly replied quickly in a condescending tone to herself.
Suddenly it made Billy look at Milly with a face full of regret. "No, that's not what I mean," he said feeling guilty. Milly's chin deliberately turned away, forcing the girl to look at him. "Are you offended by my words? Are you heartbroken to hear my complaint?"
"No, sir, I'm just telling you the truth." Milly replied in a choked voice, barely even stopping in the throat. At the brink of Billy's hand that still touches his chin, and again turned his face trying to avoid a face-to-face fight with her husband.
"Mill, are you crying?" Billy was surprised to find a pair of clear neutrals glazed over. His expression softened and fretted when his heart was covered in guilt. Her hand moved about to rub Milly's face, but the girl hurriedly brushed her aside subtly.
"No, Sir. I'm just sleepy." Milly continued to argue and tried to give reasonable reasons. She even smiled so sweetly to cover her sad face.
"really?"
"Yes ,,,!" his reply was full of emphasis trying to convince. Milly laughed as if she was happy. "Tuh, right. I even laughed." He said as he rubbed the liquid that melted from the corner of his eye. He got up without forgetting his vibe. "If so, then go to sleep, sir. It's heavy sleep." Without waiting for Billy's answer, Milly immediately moved on from there.
Arriving at the room, Milly could no longer hold back her tears. The girl's body slumped as she leaned against the door she had just closed. The slender hand moved hugging his knees and buried his tear-filled face between his knees and chest.
Should he give up? Fighting for feelings is also free. It is like a helpless bird. His wing had been broken, even before he flapped to try to fly.
His hope of having Billy completely disappeared from his heart. Now he is determined to continue life even without his loved ones. With his parents he was happy.
Milly got up from her bed. His hand moved rubbing the tears that had wet the bed of flowers in his room. Again the bitter shadow comes and haunts the mind. It was enough to imagine the thing that sliced his heart back.
But does it depend on her husband? Even the man always appeared to color his beautiful dreams. So much hope for Billy to come to pick him up, that the man was carried away to dreamland. But in fact what, boro-boro came. Calling her phone was reluctant.
Maybe this is the fate of his love. Just enough to be a secret admirer. "Thank you for the experience you gave me, sir. Being your wife even if it's only two weeks." she mumbled softly.
