Day two: Hidden messages

"It seems they (the inhabitants of this forest) want to convey a message to me, I'm sure because from the beginning only I can see their existence." Ahmad.

" If you think so, I agree, they might want to show their existence by simply giving a welcome note." Johan.

" Isn't this too dangerous for us, we become unfocused on the real goal, the atmosphere becomes uncomfortable."

Say iwan with fear as my hair stands.

" Already..have not been discussed again, it's night we should rest, gather energy for tomorrow morning." Cindy Exclamation.

They then decided to rest and sleep.

The clock shows at 00.30 , in the middle of the night ,Ahmad has not been able to fall asleep, then he decided to make a bonfire.

" The temperature is so cold that I can't close my eyes, maybe a little bit of the warmth of the campfire can be soothing." Ahmad said in his heart.

After making a campfire, he while reading his favorite book that he deliberately brought. When Ahmad was engrossed with a book in his hand, Iwan woke up and saw Ahmad sleeping beside him was not there, when he saw a fire burning, he came out of the tent ,and saw Ahmad reading a book.

" Ahmad, is that you ? " Task iwan.

" Loh wan, you're awake apparently." Reply Ahmad.

"I woke up when there was warmth, and realized you might have woken up first." Ivan.

" What are you doing, Mad ? can you not fall asleep yet ? " Iwan asked Ahmad again.

" Well, I haven't been able to fall asleep yet, the temperature was so cold that I made a campfire, and I read a book." Reply Ahmad.

" I'm sorry before, but I don't think just because of this cold temperature you haven't been able to fall asleep, I'm guessing something's been bothering you." Connect iwan.

" It turns out that I can't cover up, yes you're right Wan, there's something that bothers my mind, it's the sighting on the big tree , this is the first time in my life, this is the first time in my life, somehow my curiosity just got bigger." Answer ahmad.

" So that's what's bothering you, yes I can understand, maybe if a coward like me was in your position, maybe I wouldn't be able to sleep either." Iwan in answering.

Immediately Iwan shuddered, his hair stood up imagining himself in the position of Ahmad.

" It's Mad, I don't feel good talking about the unseen, especially now at 2 am, like someone is watching us from a distance." Iwan's whisper to Ahmad.

" Okay, I'm actually a little scared too, but I'm a lot quieter awake than sleeping late, let's just say we're on patrol." Sanggah Ahmad's.

" Oiya Wan, here I bring my favorite book, will you read it no ? it's a cool book about exciting adventures, getting lost for forty days ." Ahmad said while showing his book to iwan.

" Maybe, it seems interesting just hearing the title alone has made me curious. What about the contents , oiya do not you leak yes, let me read it myself." Answer iwan.

On the morning of 'Iwan and Ahmad fell asleep again until they woke up at dawn. When dawn came, they all got up and prepared to worship. Cindy and Selly ask Johan for help to accompany them to show the road because it is still so dark despite the light.

Meanwhile, Johan tells Iwan and Ahmad to prepare a fire and prepare food for their breakfast.

" Iwan, Ahmad, please prepare the fire, all with the food so that we will immediately cook again." Johan.

"Okay Jo, leave it to us, you guys be careful, bring a flashlight if you have to." Reply Iwan.

The three of them then set off towards the river which was in the south direction. Johan, Selly and Cindy leave with flashlights because the fog still covers the cool morning.

" Let's go, let's prepare the groceries first." Bring Ahmad.

They cook the food they have prepared from home. After that Ahmad prepared firewood and started a fire.

Meanwhile, Johan , Selly, and Cindy have reached the river.

" Yeah, okay, it's fast there." Reply Johan.

Johan waited for them under the bamboo tree, he sat among the bamboo trees, he accidentally saw a sparkling object, just as Ahmad told him on the first day, out of curiosity Johan approached him. Johan intended to take it, but for a moment he thought.

" But at that time, I warned Ahmad not to take it, I also should not take it, then maybe it was a big tree that Ahmad said, where he saw the appearance of kuntilanak." He murmured in his heart.

When Johan was busy observing, it was a shocking incident experienced by Cindy who was urinating, Cindy suddenly saw a head that poked to the surface from the bottom of the river.

" Gosh, what was that." Shouting Cindy.

Selly who was still waiting was startled after hearing Cindy scream. Then Selly approached Cindy because she was worried about her friend.

" You why Cin, what are you seeing exactly ? " Tanya Selly was curious.

Without giving a definitive answer, Cindy invites Selly to return.

" Here you go, I'll tell you later in the tent, but we have to hurry back." Cindy answered while holding Selly.

" Johan, let's go back." Take Cindy.

On the way home, Johan was a little curious about the screams Cindy had heard.

" So I heard you yell, is there anything you saw ? " Ask Johan.

Yet again Cindy was just silent, Cindy walking with quick steps rushing back to the tent.

Cindy and Selly are still reluctant to tell stories, even until after their return to the tent, they are like different from usual. They look strange, especially Cindy who while cooking her hands tremble like having a burden of mind.

After breakfast was ready, they ate, and then Cindy ventured to open the conversation.

" I'm sorry Jo, I actually saw something just now, just after I peed, I saw a head popping into the surface of the water, and I'm sure it wasn't a hallucination, that's why I decided to finish up and take Selly." His word.

" Where did you see it Cin ? " Tanya Ahmad.

" I saw him downstream of the river, about ten meters away from where I was urinating. " Answer Cindy.

" It's worth it, I kind of heard you yell, when I asked you you you just fell silent." Johan Imbuh.

Johan diverted the conversation by recounting the experience he had just experienced while in the bamboo forest.

" Oiya Ahmad, when I was above precisely in the bamboo forest, I saw like a shiny object, exactly what you have told me." Johan.

" Did you take it Jo ? I hope you don't forget your advice to be careful with the residents here." Ahmad says.

Ahmad seemed to understand the meaning of his friends' stories, and now he was worried about them all.

" Already..let's finish breakfast immediately, we must get ready to continue our research, even though the sky is cloudy, and the fog is still thick." Johan said excitedly.

At 8 they set off, headed to another location, to do research, actually their research location was quite a lot , they were only given a few days at one campground. If there is a problem they can ask for help to the builder who is ready to be on standby at the house of the nearest resident.

" To begin this morning's activity, let us pray for salvation, and not to experience strange things." Take Selly.

After they prayed they began to walk while looking around. As the research progressed, they were researching the carcass of a hedgehog, Selly helping iwan and Cindy to identify the body organs of the hedgehog, while Johan kept busy paying attention to the compass.

But no one realized that one of them, Ahmad , walking in the opposite direction broke away from the group, it seemed that Ahmad was not aware of his steps ?maybe something happened to Ahmad ?
