On a sunny Sunday afternoon, I was at home alone with Kak Luni. At that time, papa and mama were away, while grandma was at Mr. RT's house for the gathering and meeting of residents.
Meanwhile, Luni and I were watching a movie. Suddenly, the sound of people ringing my doorbell.
"Ting keg!"
"Yes for a minute" I shouted.
As it turned out, Aciel rang my doorbell. I barely recognized him, because I hadn't seen him in a long time. I've only met Aciel a few times. First at the exhibition, and once we met at a cafe with Arlo and Jaya. We don't talk too much. Just plain trite talk. Therefore, I was a bit surprised when I saw him behind the fence of my house.
"Eh, Aciel, huh? How are you doing? Come inside!" I said while opening the fence.
"How are you, Alit? Sorry, but impromptu. I know your house from Arlo, it just so happens to pass around here. So the thought of stopping by," he replied with a whimper.
I let Aciel in and sat in the living room. Then, Brother Luni approached me to check on the guests who came. I introduced him to Aciel. Just a few minutes, Aciel and Kak Luni looked familiar quickly. Maybe because they are both third grade High School. Aciel was only a few months older than Kak Luni.
In fact, I was the one who initially knew Aciel, even those who were engrossed in chatting. But I'm okay, because there is Ireng who always accompany me. I also invited Ireng to play in the living room.
At about 7pm, Arlo called me. I went straight into the living room and picked up the phone. He told me that today he was busy helping to clean the house his father had just bought. We chatted casually, telling each other about their activities over the past few days.
"For Aciel is home" I said.
"Well, why is he there?" Ask Arlo.
"Then talk to Luni. Though here must have been my first taste, but I'm just dicuekin now," I replied jokingly.
Arlo laughed at my answer. Arlo and I continued our chat until grandma came home at half 8. From the living room, there was the sound of Aciel introducing herself to grandma. I immediately said goodbye to Arlo to hang up the phone, and rushed to greet grandma.
"Here, Grandma brought a snack from the meeting of the residents earlier," said the grandmother while offering the snack to us.
The three of us thanked. Grandma entered the house, while Kak Luni and Aciel continued the conversation in the living room while eating a snack given by grandma. I, who was bored, finally followed Grandma into the house.
"Grandmother ate? Alit wants to eat, but is lazy to be alone. So no lust," I said.
"Grandmother ate. Here, Grandma Temenin Alit aja," replied Grandma pampering me.
Grandma who was sitting with me eating in the living room also heard their laughter. He looked at me and laughed.
"Luni and her new friend seem to fit in. Very familiar," said grandma.
From what I heard at a glance, they talked a lot about the habits in their respective schools. I had eavesdropped on Aciel's story of her kind and diligent friend. His friend always came in the morning and waited in front of the library until it was open.
Every day, he spent the morning and hours of rest by reading the books in the perpus. He also brought a rag from home to clean the school library tables. His other friends often mocked him. Some even told him to do other people's PR. But he was never angry at all.
There is also another friend of Aciel who is inversely proportional to the nerd. This one always comes late. Funny thing is, he never had a haircut. So, when he starts to growl, his teachers will cut his hair. After the teacher shaved his hair, he was not ashamed, but instead proud. He often shows off to his friends "frozen, shaving free".
That was one of the stories of Aciel that made them laugh out loud. My grandmother and I, who heard the story from the living room, laughed.
Not long after, the sound of a car came from the yard. Luni's sister ran out to open the fence, and Aciel followed. I watched them from the living room window. Aciel is seen reaching out and shaking the hands of papa and mama to introduce himself. Then, Aciel followed papa, mama, and Kak Luni into the house. She was looking for me and my grandmother for saying goodbye.
From the look on his face, it looks like Kak Luni is very sumringah. I just smiled a little at him and continued to finish my interrupted dinner. Then, Kak Luni was seen picking up a snack bag brought by mama and pouring it into some jars.
"Tumben" I thought in wonder.
Usually, Luni's sister was always indifferent. Where had he prepared such food before!
After moving the snack to some glass jars, Kak Luni glanced at the dinner available at the dining table. He picked up the plate and started his dinner.
After finishing dinner, I sat down on the sofa while still watching Kak Luni who was acting like she always was. Meanwhile, papa and mama who are aware of Kak Luni's change of attitude also look at each other in confusion. But they smiled happily, while talking about Kak Luni with sign language.
Luni looks good enjoying her dinner. Perhaps he had already restrained his hunger from being accompanying Aciel.
On the eve of sleep, I told Arlo the events of the day via chat. Starting from the change in attitude of Kak Luni who became the sumringah, and some chatter of Aciel and Kak Luni who I accidentally heard. Not to forget also the story about Aciel's friend who likes to clean the library, as well as the one often cut his hair by the teacher. As it turns out, due to frequent play to the school of Aciel, Arlo also knows the friends of Aciel.
Today, the atmosphere of the house is completely different from the usual. All thanks to Aciel who can make Kak Luni's mood to be as good as that.
"May Aciel go to the house often." I said in my heart.
