One night, I dreamed of being in a very strange place. It is difficult to describe, because the place looks different from human nature. I've never seen one, let alone gone to such a place in my life.
In that place, I could not determine the direction of the wind. North, south, east, and west, all look the same. The place looks so bright. The white floor was emitting light like it was getting the reflection of light from the sky, but there was no sun. The sky was white, with no clouds covering it. Although it is very bright, this place feels very cool. I'm guessing, maybe it's about 24 degrees Celsius. There was no feeling of fatigue even though I walked non-stop.
I continued to set foot aimlessly in that vast and boundless place. I can't guess the time either, because it all looks the same. As I walked without that direction, there was no one there. I would love to ask you about this place.
I kept walking, not knowing how far, not knowing how long. Suddenly in the distance, there was someone lying down. And finally! I felt so happy and relieved at that time. I tried to speed things up, but I couldn't. My speed in walking was like someone was setting.
I walked for a long time, and I came to the place where the man was lying. The man looked surprised to see me. He was lying down, and now he is sitting. I could see it clearly. She is a middle-aged woman. The clothing is traditional, wearing a barricade along the calf and a new flea kebaya. He got up from his seat, but his face remained bowed and partially covered by hair. Her hair was not tangled, as it had not been washed for many years.
No one opened their mouths between us. Not a word was said. But we understand each other, like we're talking in silence. The woman pointed in a direction with her finger. He told me to walk that way. I followed, and continued on my way.
I don't know how long I've been walking, whether I'm going right or wrong, I don't know. Without realizing it, I was already in front of a door.
In front of me, the door was tightly closed, but the surroundings remained empty. It does not look like a wall like a room. I pushed the door open a few feet. I pushed it again strongly, but only until there the door could open.
Even though I can't get into it, I can look behind the door. The light from where I was standing penetrated into the dark room. There's a big black whiteboard inside. In front of the blackboard, there was a woman in a long, light-gray dress. He was standing facing the blackboard. Her hair was long and black, very nice. It was very different from the middle-aged woman I had previously met.
With my eyesight limited, I turned to my left and looked like a teacher teaching from behind the door where I was standing. Apparently, it was the teacher who blocked this door, so I could not open it wide. In front of him, there were several rows of benches and tables filled with three men and three women. They look like school children who are attending teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
Suddenly, there was a male student who was on the leading bench shifting the seat to the right, near the door where I was standing. The figure of the student tilted his head towards the door, but with a slightly bowed face. The light that hit it, even if only a little, clarified the color of the student's clothes and face. His clothes were white with gray pants. I'm guessing they're High School students. The student's haircut was smashed with long bangs covering his eyes. His skin is very pale.
I who was confused what to do, can only gap because amazed to see the entire room that is awkward. The teacher then thrust out a red map that he had been holding since.
"It's a registration form" said the teacher.
After which, he immediately pushed the door shut again. Instantly, the door was gone. The place was empty again as before.
I didn't get a chance to talk and ask. What am I supposed to do with this map? Do I have to open it? Or should I take her somewhere?
As before, I walked again without direction and purpose. Suddenly, I saw the middle-aged lady in kebaya that I first met. The position was the same as the one I saw earlier, he was lying down. But this time, he did not lie on the floor, but rather floated in the air without a mattress, chair, or anything that supported him. I wanted to get to him, but I couldn't control my steps. I felt soaring with a very light body. I tried to get close to the woman. With a still hovering position, he sat down and turned his head towards me with his face still down.
I'm getting curious about everything I've been through. Where am I at? I looked all over, but there were no signs or clues that could diminish this curiosity.
With my steps getting lighter and almost hovering, I walked on and on to try to reach the woman. But my steps never got there. Though from far away, began to look another view, the white hill. I can't say clearly, it's a hill or not, because I can never get there. Only my eyes see it as a hill.
With great difficulty, I thrust out the red map I held onto the woman. But the woman didn't budge, and I couldn't reach her either. The woman who was down then looked at me.
Desperate, I finally could only look at the red map. When I intended to open it, the woman in kebaya reminded me that I was not worthy to be accepted in that class. I wanted to ask more clearly, but the woman raised her hand and gestured for me to leave the place immediately. Then the woman returned to her body as before, and I woke up...
Until now, I never understood the meaning of this strange dream. Who is that middle-aged woman? What about the gray dress woman I met in class? Who are the teachers and students? I don't know the answer.
