Second-Chance Genius Child
AGKK Chapter 19 - New Mobile Phone

Mas Haris really kept his word to buy me a new phone. At 8 pm Jodi came to the hospital with the phone.

I used to have a phone like this before I sold it with other things for Alena's treatment.

My first meeting with Jodi felt so awkward. We used to be coworkers and now I don't know what it's called. We sat together in the living room to open the box, to move my SIM card to the new phone.

"Where's your SIM card Mom? let me arrange everything" Jodi said.

God, hearing that call made me feel bad for myself.

"Don't call me that, Jo. Call me my name" I asked. I'm a nobody, I'm just the mother of Haris's son, not the man's wife. I don't want Jodi to treat me any differently. Like I'm on par with Mas Haris. Even though our age is the same.

"Sorry Mom, but I can't do it. You're the mother of Mr. Haris's child, so I have to respect you" Jodi explained, so formally speaking, made me feel bad for myself.

"I'm not comfortable if you're like this" I said, not giving up. I even put on a gloomy face, turning a reluctant face towards Jodi.

"You're great Nin, you've come this far" Jodi said later, instead of feeling happy to hear Jodi treat me so well, I felt full of myself. The sentence was actually so simple, yet it directly touched my heart.

I lowered my head, biting my lower lip hard, not wanting to be sad anymore. Alena's situation is improving. I raised my face and I looked back at Jodi with lips that were trying to smile.

"Well, look ... This is just my friend Jodi," I replied trying to be carefree, no longer wanting to see the distress I had made memories. Let it be a story of my own struggle, I don't want to share it with anyone else.

"But you're not beautiful anymore, you look skinny" Jodi said.

I snorted in annoyance.

"After Alena's out of the hospital let's eat outside, the chicken in front of the office is still open. I'll treat you with a lot of beefy chicken" said Jodi, the chicken menu was my favorite all along. Every time we eat together, it's the chicken I order.

"You make me sad, Jo," I said, I blinked quickly so that no tears would fall.

"Stupid, why sad? I'm trying to cheer you up" said Jodi.

I didn't answer anything, because now my tears are really falling. But I hurriedly removed it and tried to stop it.

"Well, I'll bill you a promise later," I said later.

"Hem, where's your butut phone? I haven't seen it yet" said Jodi anyway.

"Don't insult me!" annoyed Anin anyway, I saw Jodi instead chuckle.

"No, I was just following what Mr. Haris said this afternoon. Said your phone was so butute, it looked more like an AC remote."

I stared cynically, Mas Haris and Jodi instead made you a laughing stock.

I take my phone out of my pants pocket, I give it to Jodi and this guy laughs.

"Astaghfirullahaladzim, it turns out to be completely butut. Even the numbers are starting to fade" Jodi said, her laughter becoming more and more obvious. If it's Haris I won't dare to fight the tearing, but if Jodi's hands itch like it's trying to hit.

So I took a couch pillow and hit her arm. But it turns out that Jodi can hold it easily, then takes the pillow for her to keep to herself. His laughter still adorns.

"What's so funny?" ask mas Haris to make me jerk in shock, Jodi's laughter even disappeared right then and there.

Mas Haris loved to come suddenly like this, he was like floating until I was unable to hear his footsteps.

"Sorry sir, I will soon install the SIM card of Anin's mother on her new phone" Jodi said later, now I know we will only be formal like this if in front of Mas Haris alone.

"Where's Alena, Mas?" I asked because Haris mas came alone, I also wanted to melt the sudden awkward situation. Mas Haris sat down with his face that looked cold.

"Alena with Mom, playing Barbie. I was told to go out because the barbie wanted to wear clothes" explained Mas Haris.

Really, I want to laugh when I hear the story. But as hard as I can I hold myself so as not to make a sound.

"It's done sir, Anin's mother's phone can already be used," Jodi explained later. He also held out the phone and Haris received it.

"When you're done, go."

"Okay sir, excuse me," replied Jodi, she stood up from her seat and lowered her head in salute. We were only able to look at each other before we actually parted ways.

I saw Haris open the phone for a moment, then took out his phone too and was seen to arrange some things, no matter what he was working on.

"Save this," said Mas Haris, after he was done with his own business, Mas Haris handed me this phone.

I accepted it awkwardly, and then I saw that this phone wallpaper was a picture of the three of us this afternoon.

"Don't be awkward to call me" said Mas Haris.

I nodded obediently, of course I will always contact her about Alena.

"What did you talk to Jodi about?" ask Haris again.

"There's nothing Mas, just plain chatter."

"What is that ordinary talk like?"

I was silent, confused as to what to answer. Suddenly my head was blank on the question.

"What are you talking about?" ask Haris, maybe because I just kept quiet he asked me a question again.

"If Alena's out of the hospital, Jodi wants to take me to a meal together. At the cafe in front of the office that sells beefy chicken," I explained in detail.

"Do you want to eat chicken? why didn't you say?"

"Don't want Mas, Jodi just offered it."

"I'm gonna order that clap chicken right now, the one in front of the office right?"

"But we've had dinner, Mas" I replied with a face that began to be clear, do not want to mas Haris to do the saying.

"It's okay, let your weight rise quickly. So you should have dinner often."

I have not had time to talk, but mas Haris has already made an order through the go-food application.

Not until 20 minutes the order arrived.6 servings of beefy chicken already presented on the table. Some are not spicy for Alena. But Alena can only eat half, not all. Some are medium to mother, and others are spicy to me and mas Haris.

I said it wasn't necessary, but when all these puffed chickens were in sight, my saliva flowed.

"Eat, don't worry" said Mas Haris.
