SEBERANG VILLAGE

SEBERANG VILLAGE
Chapter 9 - Endah (2)

After gnawing a few times, Dekka was finally able to focus his gaze on the light coming into his eyes. He looked around then stopped in the direction of Bertan who was staring in relief at him as well as Kek Retno. They looked at Dekka with astonished and curious gazes, while Dekka also gave the same gaze.

"Why did Retno come here?" his tan was instantly countered by a slow blow on his shoulder by Bertan. The young man glared, staring dislikely at Bertan who was as good as hitting him. While Kek Retno only looked while eating one of the fried bananas that Bertan had presented to him. Complete with his favorite bitter black coffee.

"How does it feel to be adventurous?" tanya Kek Retno later. Dekka frowned in surprise, even she had not told him that and Kek Retno already knew about it. Is that old man actually a suitor or what? It crossed his mind one.

"Kok grandpa know?" ask Dekka.

"Easy, after hearing the story of Bertan you are definitely invited to their world. You didn't wake up from earlier but didn't respond anyway, it's like a dead man. Though you are not sick, so the answer must be one that you are invited." Dekka fiddles to understand.

"So I panicked because you have not realized, I kept telling Kek Retno here," continued Bertan. Once again Dekka just nodded, his strength was drained a lot when he was just sleeping. His body was limp and lazy to move. He shook to the right and to the left, turning his head to dispel the aches he felt.

"Capek anyway?" tanya Kek Retno's.

"It's cake, but I don't do it."

"Yo naturally, your people have just been taken by adventurers all night. This is your first time, so you feel tired. My father said it first," said Kek Retno in response. Dekka increasingly did not understand, why the word 'father' he. Doesn't he have the same abilities as himself?

"Kok said Mr Kek Retno, did Grandpa never do anything?" Bertan asked representing the question that was in Dekka's mind. Dekka aggrudged justifying as if he also wanted to know about it, Kek Retno looked at the two then shook her head. Of course it is increasingly inviting big questions in the minds of both.

"I'm not that good, so why ask about me. It should be you who made clear what you just saw," the old man replied. Dekka finally just remembered what he saw last night as a dream. He confirmed his position to sit down, staring towards the other two with a very serious gaze.

"Grandfather, you know what's called Endah?"

Dekka's question made Bertan stiffen, and Kek Retno only sighed for a moment then nodded. Now Bertan also nodded, of course, who is not familiar with the village flower, he became a lot of targets, unfortunately he had disappeared five days before the move Dekka there. That's why they never met face-to-face, but how did Dekka find out about Endah?

"How do you know about Endah's mother?" ask Bertan.

"Kuntilanak wet semalem it's possible he, because that's what I saw semalem in a dream. He was washed away in the river after being dragged equally male to the river when the current was swift. But I don't know who the boy is, I just know his stature was not too clear I want," said Dekka.

"Yo pantes do not go home, thought to run away as his girlfriend was washed away anyway." Kek Retno nodded in understanding, while Dekka frowned in surprise. Bertan arranged for Kek Retno who modelled it to tell the incident to Dekka.

"Loh, if that's what we have to say dong with his family if Mbak Endah is killed," said Dekka. Bertan chuckled, it seemed like city life really made Dekka forget about the village. It can't be that easy to make them believe, plus how the newly moved Dekka can tell, it will definitely present a question mark.

"Wouldn't do it, the villagers here don't believe that anymore. Some of the parents of Endah's mother had already taken their child to run away," said Bertan.

"Loh, they should have checked that the body really belonged to Madam Endah. I don't want to know you have to help me, I have a plan."

Bert frowned while Dekka smiled full of mystery. Then a few hours later the village was shocked by the discovery of Endah's body stuck in a stream along with several fallen wooden branches. The discovery made the entire village stir and began to bring up a lot of gossip. Some say it's karma because Endah has been disobedient, there are also true guesses say Endah killed people.

Endah's parents were devastated by the discovery of Endah's body. It all started after a few children who Dekka had been fishing far enough away towards Endah's body. As luck would have it without being ruled, they understood Dekka's intentions, and one of the children came back and said they found a woman there. Dekka smiled triumphantly and told the other children to go home and tell the village chief.

"Don't you, you want to be cold in there."

Endah's mother's heartbreaking cries, she continues to cry while hugging her child's body. Endahpun's father could not help but cry that was left to spill beside Mother Endah while calming his wife. But there was one person who caught Dekka's attention, someone who stood not far from the two of them with a tense face and a slight stiff movement staring at Endah's body. Dekka suddenly snapped to his senses, he was the man he had seen in his dreams.

But at that time Dekka was silent, reluctant to say anything until Endah's funeral was completed in the evening. As usual, he and Bertan would sleep in the same room. And this time Dekka had no intention to stay up, he already knew that he was capable. So he wouldn't want to deal more with 'those' who shouldn't involve himself.

"Lo see the guy who was just in the middle of the funeral?" ask Dekka to Bertan. Being asked frowned in surprise, many men were present at the funeral and almost all of them were just silent. Including the two of them, so Bertan did not know for sure which one Dekka meant.

"Which one?"

"That tall white, kept a bit of that mustache lo. The one who was after the same old man Mbak Endah." Dekka.

"Oh that's the person who used to want to marry Madam Endah but rejected the same Mother Endah, why?" Dekka flinched, she thought it was Endah's future husband but it wasn't that easy. He looked towards Bertan, this time his gaze was very serious.

"He's the person I saw in the dream, the person who has been dragged and pushed Mba Endah to the river," explained Dekka.

"Udah, you don't have to interfere anymore. Lo inget what Kek Retno said just now, right? The perpetrator will confess when haunted by guilt."

"If haunted by Madam Endah too."
