SEBERANG VILLAGE

SEBERANG VILLAGE
Chapter 20 - Rondo's Mother

In the opposite village there is a hut house that is rarely seen by its residents. The house belonged to Rondo's mother, a widow who had just lost her husband two years ago to an accident. That day, Ms. Rondo who was helping to harvest the garden from the Village Chief got the news that the husband had an accident. Rondo's mother was heartbroken, her husband died in a work accident while a construction worker.

Rondo was heartbroken, added by him who had just been married 5 months before the tragedy. She had no children yet, so no one helped her to make a living. Relying on working in people's gardens, Mrs Rondo endures herself to live on. The 30-year-old woman actually received an invitation to get married again, but she always refused the invitation on the grounds of respecting her husband's family and also her deceased husband.

But a few hours ago, Mrs Rondo met Dekka. He suddenly invited Dekka to chat in a relaxed style, the two seemed to have been close for a long time until they finally became gossip on that day. The two were called the Village Chief, invited to chat because one of the residents chatted together in front of Dekka's house when Bertan was having business.

"I understand that may not be what you mean, but try not to be like that. Later there will be unpleasant talk," said the Village Chief to them. Dekka nodded, and Mbak Rondo only smiled shyly while glancing at Dekka. Dekka was actually a bit uncomfortable, so he decided to leave the Village Chief's house and immediately look for the whereabouts of Bertan who he said wanted to go to the garden.

He met the figure with a feeling of arrogance, really Dekka wanted to feel slammed because he got a warning from the Village Chief later. Bertan seemed to realize, he who was originally holding the hoe finally turned his head towards Dekka. His laughter broke when he saw Dekka's expression on the face that was upset like that.

"Lo know, cook me got a warning because of the widow," said Dekka upset. Bertan fell silent later, remembering who might have teased Dekka. Nothing came to his mind, raising his shoulders and finally raising his eyebrows to ask who Dekka meant.

"Mbak Rondo."

"HUH?" Bertan rounded his eyes, he walked towards Dekka letting the hoe free just wasted. He approached his brother, held Dekka's shoulder and shook Dekka's shoulder slowly. The one in the clatter rattled, his head dizzy from the whisk that Bertan gave to his body. He threw out Bertan's hand, staring at his cousin.

"Why?" ask Dekka.

"Jeez Dekka, you don't know. Rondo's mother is the target in this village, she's a flower widow here. There were many rich and handsome men who covered him, even to the point of turning up. But none were accepted, the reason was because of the husband and his family. But now he's making love to you, my God, Dekka, aren't you back?" ask Bertan in disbelief.

"Wait, he's been proposed repeatedly but never accepted?" tanya Dekka turned back to the one that was embraced by Bertan. Okay Dekka feels something strange now, why did her previous self only meet once suddenly approached by the widow of that one? Dekka admits Rondo's mom is pretty, but still their age is quite far away and Dekka is not interested in getting married now.

"Have we come home, I'd like to take my crutches."

"He really did deketin lo," said Bertan. Dekka rolled a lazy eye, not wanting to respond to what Bertan asked. Instead he walked towards Mbak Rondo who immediately made the woman stand up and act shy.

"Sir, what's here again?" ask Dekka.

"No, just wanted to meet you. We haven't talked much" replied Rondo.

"Sorry, but better get home. I'm afraid someone sees and returns to cause trouble, I enter first, excuse me," said Dekka. Immediately he left Mbak Rondo who looked disappointed, Bertan who felt bad with the attitude of his cousin also intended to apologize. But not a word had spoken he was immediately rewarded with a sharp gaze by Mbak Rondo who passed him just like that.

Bertan scratched his non-itchy nape, choosing to follow Dekka to enter the house. In the open shirt of his boss, take a towel and go straight to the bathroom. Dekka was in the kitchen, wrestling with the cookware for their dinner later. Just tempe fried like yesterday, with eggplant balado as a complement.

Bertan selsai shower, now it's his turn and give all the dishes that live arranged to Bertan. Bertan arranged on the table waiting for Dekka to finish the bath to eat together. After the older shower, they immediately ate. Simple food delights are chewed voraciously by those who are indeed hungry, plus all the dishes are still warm.

Finishing the dinner, the two return to their usual routine. Sitting in the living room with different activities, Dekka with his laptop and also Bertan who was getting work to paint in a fairly large plain post, to be sold later. Notably, he also earned wages in addition to relying on money from Dekka's parents during this time.

The calmness of the two did not last long, looking a long-haired woman peering from a distance towards them. Bertan was the first to realize that he was watching the woman who was standing in the dim light. His long hair covered his face so that Bertan could not be sure whether he was human or not.

But when the wind blows, making the street lights sway and display the figure more clearly which is also already unblocked how surprised Bertan. It was Rondo's brother smiling at him, or maybe at Dekka?

"De, I think there is something strange about Mbok Rondo deh."
