SEBERANG VILLAGE

SEBERANG VILLAGE
Chapter 5 - The Night of Gripping

That day, after returning home from Kek Retno, Dekka had not been able to close his eyes to sleep. The sound of life is not heard everywhere, only the animals of the night that are mutually unpretentious fill the sunyinya night. Dekka turned her back repeatedly, trying to find a comfortable position for her to sleep in. But no matter how hard he tried, it was all for free.

In the midst of the turmoil that Dekka felt, he was astonished by the sound of the door squealing coming from next to his room. He frowned, decided to sit down and stay on the bed. No sound after yes, no footsteps or any other sounds. Dekka flicked his shoulders, maybe it was just the sound of the door being blown away.

Not finished his confusion about it, he was again made to sit when he heard the sound of goods thrown from the kitchen. Dekka was left shocked, a little upset by the event. It seems like Bertan was trying to make something for himself and instead dropped one of the items in the kitchen. Angrily Dekka got up from the bed, went to the kitchen to scold Bertan who made a fuss.

Back he was taken aback, his feet that had originally stepped firmly now stopped. The condition of the kitchen is still good, only a pan that should be under the table is now far in front of the door. But that's not what makes Dekka shocked, the membrane was quiet there was no one there but him. And the door to Bertan's room was still tightly shut, and Dekka just remembered something. Bertan always locked his door during sleep, that's what he caught two days living together. That means the door that was opened was not the Dekka canal door but the front door.

Dekka wanted to step up, closing the wide-open door, but unfortunately the figure seemed to block his movement. Dekka as if always made glued every figure of 'they' present in front of him. The figure looked at him with sinister eyes, not to mention the smirking lips the figure gave him.

The white hair was dangling long down, the soso clothes were wearing like a traditional outfit. Long Dekka sat face to face with the figure, he could not move his body that was already stiff. He was like a breathing statue, which could only silently stare at all the terrible things that the figure was doing. Before long the figure slowly faded away, making the originally sculpted body move again. Dekka's body sagged instantly, a cold sweat drenched her forehead covered by hair.

His body decays, resting on the cold floor of the kitchen. He calmed down a long time ago, letting his body re-assemble the energy to enter the room. For a long time Dekka had never been this scared, even she had forgotten when the last time she felt fear. But that figure and the genderuwo figure he saw re-ignited that fear. And Dekka realized one thing, the figure he had just seen was the same figure as the one who was peeping at that time. More or less similar, but how?

Not wanting to linger there, Dekka finally got up to return to his room. The steps are limp, sweat still occasionally drips although not as severe as before. He fell back in bed, closed his eyes as he continued to pray and tried to forget what he had just seen.

But it seems that he was not allowed to calm down, because shortly after he returned to hear something surprising. The sound of objects hitting something was heard from his room, his voice was so loud that Dekka was curious. Recalling the previous incident, he paused for a moment his intention. Until the sound got louder and finally re-fished his curiosity. Defeating the fear that had been present, Dekka again fulfilled his curiosity.

Rise him up, and then he knows it was the wrong decision. There, on one of the large coconut trees, a figure with a shroud covering his entire body, the figure often called the pocong banged his head repeatedly against the tree. Dekka stared at the figure, this time his body was not stiff, probably because they did not look at each other.

However it only went for a short walk, as Dekka finally chose to go back to sleep before the figure realized his presence. Like a bad luck that comes bertubi, the sound of the impact is getting louder. Dekka hid himself behind a blanket, knowing that the figure was now banging his head against the glass of his room. All the prayers he tidied up, quieted the mind of all those things.

"Dekka's."

The shriek disturbed him, making his focus disturbed. He did not know the voice that called him, but he knew it called his name. Most likely it was one of those 'those' who wanted to attract his attention. Dekka did not dare to get out of the blanket, and then after that no sound was heard. Until finally Dekka opened his blanket, right in front of his eyes the figure was standing next to him with a face that was completely leaned towards him. Dekka could clearly see the figure and that's when Dekka couldn't remember anything more.

"Why does it have a fever, Dekka?" ask Bertan when Dekka's waking up. Dekka just shook his head, reluctant to feel like he was explaining now. He wanted to sit down, and the sensitive Bertan ended up helping out happily. He stared to the side, towards the window that last night the figure banged his head. Slowly his hand was raised, pointing towards that spotless clean window.

"Lo clean the windows?" tanya Dekna. Bertan shook his head, he would only occasionally clean the windows when he wanted to. He's not that smart to clean the house. Dekka seemed to hold his breath, something was wrong Dekka must have seen last night.

"Today you saw something?" ask Bertan.

"Lo know?" ask Dekka. Bertan shook his head initially, but nodded later. Dekka was of course astonished, his head was still dizzy and Bertan instead added to the burden of his mind with that uncertain answer.

"At first I didn't know that you could see them, but Kek Retno was the same as me. He came here, and now I've also bought porridge for you. This conversation was delayed until you ate, then I continued with Kek Retno for more clarity."

Hearing that, a small bowl of porridge Dekka ate by force. His tongue was bitter, his throat was hot to swallow. And after the final feed, Bertan smiled with satisfaction and just then Kek Retno entered Dekka's room. The old man sat on Dekka's bed, a little disoriented considering he was old.

"What did you see yesterday Dekka?"

Really Dekka made kelu, said Kek Retno kepalang to the point. Though he thought Kek Retno would have a stale first before going to the core of the question. The two waited for an answer, looking seriously at Dekka.

"The snout that grandfather was telling me about at the time, Dekka thought Dekka saw the same figure yesterday. He banged his head against the glass, Dekka was sure. One more thing, a grandmother was standing at the door of the house. Dekka didn't know how the door could open, which Dekka knew was already standing there." Kek Retno was seen sighing, as well as Bertan.

"Dekka horrified me, if you hear a strange sound do not bring curious. I can't see them, but I can see them around me." Bertan.

"Fight them Dekka, don't lose to them. Your degrees are higher than theirs, remember this grandfather's words. You can win against them if you dare, not just see you can communicate with them, Dekka."
