SEBERANG VILLAGE

SEBERANG VILLAGE
Chapter 4 - Spooky Story

That afternoon Dekka could not calm down at all, he still clearly remembered how the figure looked and expression. Dekka pinched her dizzy temples, unlucky that she could see 'them' again, when her mother said she would never see them again. But why did he see her? And was yesterday the one he saw also one of 'them'?

"Bertan, do you believe in ghosts?" ask Dekka at the end. His hands still painstakingly cleaned the contents of the fish that they had just gotten. Three big fish just for the two of them, it really is very much according to Dekka. This time he'll cook, after all he can't just hitchhike here.

"Why is that so?" ask Bertan wonder. Dekka quietly did not answer, wanted to say what he saw but was afraid that Bertan would not believe later. Feeling no response from Dekka, Bertan turned to look at Dekka who was still cleaning the entrails of the fish. His hand patted Dekka on the shoulder, making his cousin turn his head while raising one of his eyebrows.

"If I say believe, how?" tanya Bertan who made Dekka shocked. Everything Bertan said on their way to the river seemed to show he did not believe in ghosts. Dekka turned his head, his eyes displaying a slight twinkle hearing Bertan's reply.

"Lo has a horror experience? I want to write on my blogger," said Dekka suddenly. For some reason he said that, it was just a spontaneous speech he said. Bertan seemed to think for a while, he tried to remember then nodded later. It was not her personal experience, but something that grandmother had told her about before.

"Later if I tell you the cooking spit, while anterin one fish for grandfather next door, there is no one," said Bertan who was finally nodded by Dekka. "Oh if you want a horror experience, ask your grandfather, he would know because people used to be mystical that." Once again Dekka just nodded in agreement.

Dekka finally continued cooking, just the simple thing she cooked. Fried fish that he previously marinated with instant seasoning and also sambel terasi wrap. Already everything he went on to arrange everything in a bushel complete with rice and vegetables kale impromptu only boiled and given salt. At least eat vegetables, that's what Dekka told Bertan earlier.

They prepared to go to grandfather's house, intending to eat there and accompany him. The sun had already set and they both passed lunch because they were too cool to cook. The slow knock Bertan gave to the traditional house, it looks like the house holds many secrets.

The open door of the house featured an old man with almost completely grayed hair. Grandfather smiled towards the two, slightly stepping aside giving them room to enter his house. The two entered, and Dekka slightly lowered her body past grandfather. The grandfather smiled at Dekka, then after they entered the door again closed. Retno's real-name grandfather followed behind and began to sit between the two who had arranged all the food on the carpet.

"The cake was eaten, it was the same Bertan Dekka had been fishing all along with his intention to recognize Dekka to grandfather," said Bertan. Kek Retno nodded, staring fixedly at Dekka who introduced herself.

"Call it Retno Cake, just like the others. Grandpa can eat this? Hungry grandfather's stomach," said Kek Retno. Dekka laughed then nodded, preparing food for Retno's cake with the fish meat that had been sliced from her bones. Then he continued to prepare food for himself, the three began to eat on the carpet with rice puffed out by rice paper.

His third stomach finally filled to the brim after one last mouthful of rice was fed. Kek Retno drank water, then with difficulty stood up and washed his hands behind his house. Dekka followed, letting Bertan who was still reassembling the rantang. The three finally returned to the room five minutes later.

"Dekka, how does it feel to see them?" ask Kek Retno suddenly. Dekka was surprised, while Bertan stared at Dekka. How did Kek Retno know that she could see 'them' and was it just spontaneous speech?

"Grandfather, how did you know I could see them?"

"Um, it's a cake. I haven't seen 'them' in a long time." Dekka replied, and Kek Retno just nodded. Bertan stared at Dekka full of question marks, Dekka hinted to be quiet on Bertan. Please don't talk about him first.

"You hear my grandfather's experience?" tawar Kek Retno which of course is influenced by Dekka. This was what he was waiting for, at least he could make a continuation of the story later. Retno Cake smiled, nodded, began to open his mouth to tell a story.

That day, in 1970, Retno's grandfather who was only in his 40s at that time threw his fishing hook into the river. The sounds of small animals began to be heard accompanied by the sound of flowing river water. The weather was already a little dark, considering Retno's grandfather was fishing deliberately at dusk. The worms he used as bait wriggled around the plastic he was using, trying to escape from inside the cage.

Long enough, the fishing rod ended up twitching in the water signifying something had eaten the bait. The fishing was lifted, and a medium-sized fish rose to the surface. Retno's cake smiled happily, throwing a second lure.

Just as Dekka felt, Retno cake also felt the change of air around it. He looked to the right, left and back there was nothing around there. But everything was different as he turned his head towards the front back, across the river. Right in front of Kek Retno, a large hairy figure stood between the two trees. The size almost matched that of the trees, his red eyes staring towards Kek Retno.

Kek Retno shuddered, as soon as she took care of her fishing gear and left. Is the story of Kek Retno finished there? The answer is no, because on the way to his house aira remains the same as in the river. Kek Retno did not care about it, she kept walking quickly to get to her house. And something looked strange around him then, he had been walking for a long time and that was all he saw.

The weather is getting cooler with a view that is getting smaller because the day is dark. Kek Retno started to realize something, she was being worked on. He looked back, that huge figure standing there, still staring at him with those fiery red eyes. Kek Retno sat at each other with the figure, and before long something scary happened again.

Behind that huge figure, there were dozens of other figures who were also looking towards him. There was one that caught the attention of Kek Retno, making her book stand up. The figure was wrapped in a shroud all over his body, blood and soil soiling his shroud. His face was shattered apart, with maggots coming out of his seven face holes. It makes Kek Retno sculpting, stiff body can not be moved. The figure that he believed the pocong was approaching towards him, in the heart of the cake Retno could only pray that he immediately returned to his origin.

Returning to this moment, Dekka breathed in hearing that. It turned out that he was quite lucky unlike the Retno Cake who was brought into their realm. Scratch the feathers made by the story of Kek Retno. In contrast to Dekka, Bertan even more curious about the continuation.

"How about the cake?" ask Bertan.

"Grandfather out of their nature, then went home. Especially?" reply Retno Cake that makes Bertan disappointed. Dekka does not believe, it can not be that easy Retno cake can come out that easily.

"You've met one of them, haven't you?" tanga Kek Retno on Dekka. Dekka replied with a nod, she had already met her one figure.

"You are destined for this," echoed Kek Retno, who can still be heard by Dekka. Wanting him to ask further, but it was getting darker, making him undo the intention to ask and decide to return home.
