SAKYA PARAKA: THE LIBERATOR

SAKYA PARAKA: THE LIBERATOR
DESTRUCTION OF PARAKA VILLAGE

On the edge of Vanaya forest, Vadya and Sakya are seen walking out of the forest. The day starts at noon. The trees protect them from the sun. They walked leisurely among the grass and reeds that grew knee-high. No hurry as they knew it was almost at Paraka village.

Vadya is a hunter. He's about 40 years old.  His facial lines look resolute complete with whiskers and a thin beard decorating his face. His body is tall and strong. Wrapped in leather clothes covered the body up to his shoulders.

Sakya is Vadya's 16-year-old first child. His hair was shoulder-black bound neatly by some kind of rope from animal skin. The parasites are quite handsome with mature brown skin color. Shoulder field with proportional height and weight.

On Sakya's right shoulder the crossbow extends all the way to his left thigh. Made of maple wood with bowstring from horse hair that has been twisted. Strong, pliable and smooth. The arrow bow that was his father's pride as it was made by his own hands. This arrowhead had accompanied his father hunting for twenty years.

The two of them had two days to go hunting in the outskirts of the Vanaya forest and decided to go home because they had obtained the results of their hunt. A young deer was carried on Vadya's shoulders. Today they were quite lucky.

For Sakya this isn't the first time she's been hunting with her father. In one month, his father always took him hunting for two or three days. He taught me how to hunt. How to recognize an animal based on its footprints, track it, set traps, and skin its game. Occasionally, he was allowed to slaughter his hunted beasts.

Since Sakya is only 16 years old, she has not been allowed to hunt on her own. Right now, Sakya's main task is to bring her father's son and bow. At least until he was 17.

"What's your mom cooking this time?" Vadya asked with a smile looking at Sakya who was only as high as her chest.

"As usual, father, both of us's favorite foods." Sakya answered while smiling back at Vadya. He could not wait to get to his house soon. Usually, when he arrived with his father after hunting, his mother would cook a very delicious honey roast.

"Remember, said the father, when you find a wife, look for a woman who is good at cooking" said Vadya patted Sakya's left shoulder.

"Huh ... Listen, son! Beauty only lasts a decade, while gastronomy will last for generations. You remember a grandmother not because she was beautiful, you remember her because of her cooking. Remember, Son! Beauty is a bonus." Vadya said as she rubbed her stomach then laughed.

"I want to get a wife who can cook, beautiful and rich."

"Ha ha ha, a rich woman who can cook? Until death you won't get it" Vadya laughed. In this world of rich women there must be someone who cooks food for her. Sakya's wish was like a dream in broad daylight.

"Well, I'll remember father's message" Sakya replied as she scratched her head. He did not understand why his father was talking about this. Was his father raising his own heart that his wife was not beautiful and rich? Sakya shook her head.

Suddenly, Vadya stopped her steps. From the village, black smoke rose. The sound of a fart began to be heard followed by the screams of women and children. I faintly heard a scream, "Run... Rakshasa's coming!"

Sakya immediately runs to her father's side, Vadya swiftly lowering the body of the deer from his shoulder and taking his bow and arrows from Sakya.

"Come Sakya!" vadya's orders, while kneeling down then he slipped an arrow in his mouth.

"No dad, I'm coming." Sakya looked at her father. Sakya is scared because she knows what kind of rakshasa is. His heart is racing. But compared to Rakshasa, he was more afraid if he only lived alone because something happened to his father and his family in the village. He clenched his hand for his courage to appear.

"Sakya" said Vadya, then he placed his left hand on Sakya's shoulder.

"Listen son! I want you to run to the woods straight to the shelter. Wait for Daddy to come get you. I will save the villagers first. We meet again there. Run fast!" Vadya began to panic, as the sound of footsteps began to sound behind the hill.

Soon a rakshasa appeared behind the hill. It's about 5 meters high.  Wearing only the loincloth as a protector and the mace on his right hand.

The rakshasa grinned as he looked at Vadya and Sakya. Then ran towards them and shouted, like happy to get a new hunt. He ran while pointing his wheels up.

Vadya quickly pulled out her arrow, took a deep breath to calm herself down and slowed her heartbeat. After calm and the distance of the rakshasa began to docked about 20 meters, Vadya removed the arrow from his bow.

‘Seet’ The arrow shot quickly and immediately stuck in the forehead of the rakshasa. With an arrow on his forehead, the rakshasa was only able to run three steps before finally falling down.

"Come on Sakya, wait for us at the stop... NOW!" Vadya looked at Sakya while inserting a second arrow into her bow, then turned around and ran towards the top of the hill leaving Sakya.

Sakya sees her father leaving, not long after that Sakya turns around and starts running towards the Vanaya forest sobbing. He understood that if he continued to force his way with his father, he would only become a burden. Despite the weight, he decided to leave.

At the top of the hill, Vadya looks back and sees Sakya starting to run. Vadya took a deep breath and looked back towards the village. He breathed heavily and he bit his lower lip. Old habits that occur when he is nervous. Then he ran down the hill towards the village.
