Chapter 41. Edward's Promise to Gerald

Seeing Edward enter Kanaya's room, Daddy Ded stared intently at Edward.

"Let it be Dad, don't make a fuss here like my daughter" said Mommy Lingga.

Hearing the words of his wife Daddy Ded just silence not flinching while sighing muffle his anger. However, He helped Kanaya, so Daddy Ded softened a little. Shortly thereafter Edward approached Brankar where Kanaya was lying, and his finger stroked Kanaya's face very gently.

"Does this hurt Nay?" ask Edward.

"I'm sorry for hurting you, I promise anything I'll do to make amends for all my past mistakes" Edward said.

Edward said in tears.

Richard was surprised to see Edward crying over his sister like that, as Richard recalled, Edward had never cried like that. Richard watched Edward closely, and wondered in his heart.

"Can an Edward Kusuma cry like that?"

"How long before Edward looked into the eyes of Kanaya's parents and said.

"Om, Auntie, please let me here accompany Kanaya, let me Om, Auntie," Edward pleaded.

Daddy Ded and Mommy Lingga and Richard who heard Edward's plea stared intently at him.

Shortly after Kanaya's door opened, the Doctor and Sister examined Kanaya.

"How's my daughter Doc doing?" ask Mommy Lingga.

"The situation is still the same" said the doctor.

"Doctor, shouldn't my daughter be taken out of the country?" ask Daddy Ded.

"for now the patient's condition does not allow Mr" said the doctor.

"Sorry ladies and gentlemen, it's better to wait outside, only one person can wait for the patient" said the doctor.

"Okay doc" said Daddy Ded.

"I'm sorry sir, madam" said the doctor as he walked out of Kanaya's room.

Daddy Ded, Mommy Lingga and Richard and Mr. Iwan and Bi Wati, came out of Kanaya's room, and Edward was in Kanaya's room sitting glued to Kanaya's pale face.

"When are you going to be like this, Nay? Is your sleep so deep that you refuse to open your eyes? Open your eyes for a moment, so that I can see the beauty of your eyes, that or your angry look at me" said Edward. Holding Kanaya's palm and watching the palm, he said again.

"Take Nay, don't take it, '" said Edward. Then laying his head on Kanaya's side, his gaze stared at Kanaya's palm that was gently grasped by her.

Meanwhile, behind the doors of Daddy Ded and Mommy Lingga and Richard watched Edward and listened to Edward's every word, their hearts were filled to hear Edward's every word. With a deep breath Richard said.

"Now that he's got his own punishment, I've never seen him like this" Richard said, then looked at his parents and said.

"I'm going to pick up Gerald" he said, then walked away leaving his pensive parents to see Edward in Kanaya's room.

An hour later Richard and Gerald arrive, confused as to why his uncle is taking him to the hospital, running to Opa and Omanya.

"Opa, Oma, why are you here?" asked Gerald while sitting in the middle of Opa and Omanya.

"Why are you crying?" Ask Gerald.

"Your mom is sick, son" said Daddy Ded.

"ill? wasn't Mami okay this morning?" ask Gerald.

"Your mom had an accident this afternoon" said Daddy Ded.

"Accident?" gerald asked, then Gerald was surprised and looked at Oma and Opanya.

"Where is Opa now?" ask Gerald and then stand up.

"Relax son, your mother is inside, come on," Opanya said as she led Gerald and led him into Kanaya's room. Arriving in Kanaya Gerald's room, she looked up at her mother's condition.

"Mamiiii," cried Gerald.

"Mommy why?" gerald asked as he hugged Kanaya's body. Edward, who saw his son weeping as he hugged Kanaya, approached her and tried to let go of Gerald's embrace of Kanaya, saying.

"Don't be like this, son, you'll be in pain if you hold her like this, your mom just got surgery" Edward said, trying to let go of Gerald's embrace.

Daddy Ded and Richard saw it walking up to Gerald, but it stopped when Mommy Lingga's hand held Daddy Ded and Richard's. Then they looked at Mommy Lingga question markingly, Mommy Lingga just shook her head at them without saying a word.

"Take me off. I want to be with my mom, you go don't come near me" exclaimed Gerald as he sobbed at Edward's hand on his shoulder.

"You can hold her if your mother is healed, don't you see the bandage on your mother's hand, and do you want the wound on your mother's body to bleed again?" ask Edward.

Then Edward tried to persuade Gerald so that Gerald let go of his embrace on his mama, his eyes staring all over his body.

"I'm sorry mom, I didn't mean to hurt you" Gerald said in between his tears.

"Stttt, stop crying, like mommy if you hear you crying" said Edward.

"You want your mom to heal fast, don't you? if you want your mom to get well quickly smile, and give your smile to your mom, talk to her so that your mom hears your every word, right now your mom needs your support" Edward said. then Edward aligned his body by bending his knees on the floor so that his nails became the support of his body, and they could look at each other, Gerald did not need to raise his head to see Edward's face.

Gerald just silently heard Edward's words, and looked at Edward's face, then Edward hugged Gerald tightly, they hugged each other Gerald cried sobbing, cut Edward's heart and said.

"I don't want to lose my mom. Mami is the only person I have right now" Gerald said, crying sobbing.

"Hey, you're not alone, you have Opa and Oma, and your uncle Richard and I'm your Papi" Edward said.

"Look at Papi son" said Edward. Then Gerald looked at Edward. His gaze was sad, his face implied a deep sadness, his tears were unceasingly dripping down both of his cheeks.

"You remember what Papi told you in the hospital garden?" ask Edward.

"Will you give me one chance to be your Papi?" edward asked, looking expectantly at Gerald.

"At least give Papi a chance until your mom gets well to take care of you" Edward said.

Gerald looked at his Papi's face no longer a cold impression on the gaze of the ten-year-old, there was only the gaze of a child who expected a father's embrace, a hug that could strengthen him.

"Can you keep your promise and not hurt my mom again?" ask Gerald.

"Bapi promised me son" said Edward, looking at his son expectantly.

"Have your promise, but if you deny it, I will keep you away from my mother" Gerald stared intently at Edward.

"The fire promised you" said Edward. She looked at her son.

"Thank you son" said Edward, hugging his son with a new hope, even though Edward knew it would be difficult to gain the trust of Kanaya and her parents and brother.

Her heart was relieved as to what she felt when she could embrace Gerald, as if something had entered her heart something that words could not express, happiness, pleasure. I don't know if all of that was in his mind.

"Now wipe away your tears" said Edward, releasing his arms and wiping away Gerald's tears in both of his eyes.

Daddy Ded, Mommy Lingga and Richard who witnessed the scene of the father and son, felt moved and pityed on them.
