Not Just a Milk Mother

Not Just a Milk Mother
Chapter 39

"The son of Adnan has been found" said Mr. Anderson with a twinkle of spirit and happiness.

Hearing the news, Madam Fika and Arzan immediately silenced. None of them dared to speak anymore. Madam Fika in her heart was grateful that the girl had already been found. However, on the other hand he was also worried, somehow his heart still could not allow the husband to continue to carry out his wishes.

"Mas, I am happy and grateful for the news of the discovery of the Adnan family. But, I beg you not to force Arzan to marry her," responded Mrs Fika as she touched her husband's hand, she very much hoped Mr. Anderson would renounce her intention.

"Ma, my decision has been unanimous to match Arzan and his daughter Adnan. Papa has also sent someone to pick them up in the village and in the afternoon they will get here" said Mr. Anderson.

Arzan held his hands firmly on the dining table, angry at his papa for still trying to match him with his chosen woman again.

"Pa, enough! Can't Papa respect my wishes, letting me choose my own future companion? Why is Papa constantly trying to organize my life?" asked Arzan with a look of annoyance to Mr. Anderson.

'Shelf'

Mr. Anderson suddenly kicked down the dining table to make Arzan and Mrs Fika gasp for a moment.

"Arzan, Papa just wants to give you the best! Is that wrong?" ask her in a high tone.

"Father, stop using that excuse! I'm old enough, I know what's best for me and what's not!" reply Arzan again.

Mr. Anderson stared intently at his son, not accepting that Arzan had now dared to oppose him. The middle-aged man's eyes returned giddy, as Arzan returned his sharp gaze.

"Is it because of that woman? Is it because of him, you dare to argue with Papa? ANSWER ME!"

Mr. Anderson again shouted as he pointed towards the family room. There was no one there, but Arzan knew who his father meant.

"It's not because of anyone, Pa. Understand, I'm tired of having relationships arranged by you guys. I don't want to let you guys down again, if it turns out our relationship can't last long." Arzan tries to melt a little, he hopes his papa can be invited back to talk well.

Mr. Anderson snorted in annoyance. Arzan is as stubborn as he is. If Arzan had accepted his betrothal to Rivera, then this time he wanted to find a woman who could accept what she was. He also re-thinks the Stars, it is impossible for him to arbitrarily choose a future mother to connect to his son.

Madam Fika who had been silent since then finally spoke up after seeing her husband who was calmer.

Again Mr. Anderson took a deep breath after hearing his wife's words. "Yes, you're right, baby. Arzan is not yet fully divorced. Papa forgot about that. But still, what will not undo the intention to set him up again."

"As far as Papa is concerned, I will remain firm in my stance" replied Arzan loudly.

After saying that, Arzan got up from his seat and passed into the room without touching his lunch at all. Her appetite has been lost since her father forced her to accept the match again.

"Arzan, where are you going, son?" mrs Fika asked as she saw the child standing leaving the dining room.

"I'll go to my room, Ma. Mom and Dad ate first. I have no taste" replied Arzan without turning his body.

Madam Fika stared at Arzan's departure with a pushy look, she had hoped that lunch this time would be a special lunch because she and Allura were cooking. But now, his hope is gone. Arzan refused to continue eating.

Mr. Anderson felt a little guilty when he saw the glum-looking face of the wife. She reached out to Lady Fika's shoulder to take her down again.

"We'd better let Arzan think first, Ma. He will definitely come back again after his mind has calmed down" said Mr Anderson.

"But, Pa. Mama was hoping we would have lunch together" replied Mrs Fika in a soft voice.

Mr. Anderson did not respond to Mrs Fika's reply, she herself still felt annoyed towards her son and ended up letting Arzan go from there.

***

After leaving the dining room, Arzan continued his steps towards his room which was on the top floor. However, his steps came to a halt as he passed through the room inhabited by the Stars and Allura.

Again the door of the room was not tightly closed, he could hear if Allura was carrying a Star to speak. Even Arzan could also hear the subtle sound of the Star trying to make its sound. Seeing the interaction of Allura and Bintang so close, Arzan's mind immediately floated and imagined, if the one there was Rivera and not Allura.

My God, if my family were still intact, it would make me very happy, his mind without taking my eyes off Allura and the Stars.
