...Chapter 8: "The Dark Side of a Savior"...

...["The Dark Side of a Savior"]...

Previously, Satoruu, who had no other choice, used Demonical Darkness magic, an evolution magic from darkness.

It was as if from the depths of darkness, his entire body was shrouded in shadows, turning him into a silhouette. Only her glowing red eyes and evil smile danced across her face, revealing her open white teeth, remaining visible. His nails turned sharp as if they were claws ready to attack.

"Is this what 'the Dark Side of a Savior' is all about'?" saishira and Claire asked at the same time.

The awakening of the Demonical Darkness within Satoruu intensified the atmosphere, making his body a terrifying silhouette. The air inside the cave grew heavier as darkness enveloped his surroundings, swallowing the light.

With a quick movement, Satoruu lunged at Kaminou with his sword, his blade consumed by the ravine. Kaminou managed to fend off the attack, their strength seemingly matched as the clash made her stagger backwards.

Utilizing his own magic, Kaminou conjures a spiked projectile to attack Satoruu. However, with astonishing agility, Satoruu dodged every attack, his movements blurred. Their exchange resulted in another stalemate, where Kaminou remained steadfast against the onslaught.

Realizing the possibility he was facing, Kaminou's mind turned to escape. As Satoruu prepares to launch another attack, Kaminou disappears, leaving only a fleeting shadow behind him.

However, instead of eliminating his magic, there was something wrong with Satoruu. He remained standing, his magic still pulsing around him without deactivation.

Slowly, he turned towards his comrades, a smile etched on his face that gave them goosebumps. Saishira, famous for her intuition and mysterious nature, feels an unsettling presence.

As Satoruu prepares to launch an attack, Saishira quickly installs a darkness shield, protecting them from the uncontrollable bursts of magic coming from Satoruu.

A mixture of worry and panic runs through Saishira as she orders the others to keep their distance from Satoruu. Thus, the battle of darkness begins against darkness, but it becomes clear that Satoruu's magic is far from normal.

Indeed, Satoruu completely lost control, his body becoming a container for the chaotic forces he could no longer command.

"What's going on?! Demonic Dragon, say something!" Satoruu pleaded inwardly, his mind still gripped by clarity.

However, the Demonic Dragon remained silent, hiding any explanation.

Saishira exerted every effort to distract Satoruu from attacking the others. However, the huge difference in their strength allowed Satoruu to assert his dominance in the fight.

Although still under the influence of external forces, Satoruu set his sights on Viona, ready to launch an attack. However, Yuka, a girl who has known Satoruu for a long time, intervenes to protect Viona from danger.

Surprisingly, Satoruu hesitated, holding back his attack as if he could not hurt Yuka. This revelation gave a hint, their consciousness realizing that Satoruu's magic only controlled his body, not his heart.

As Satoruu held back from attacking Yuka, those red-lighted eyes let out a single tear.

Satoruu's mind swirled around recalling the memories he made together with Yuka, from the moment he saved her from two thugs in his home world, to adventuring into this other world.

His heart was unable to hurt Yuka even though he was controlled by the Demonic Dragon.

"He–Stop!" Satoruu's voice came out from his lips, a sign that he was gradually regaining control.

Satoruu manages to regain some control over his body, causing his hands to tremble as he wrestles with the decision of whether to attack Yuka or not.

Filled with worry, Yuka hugs Satoruu, although he is under the influence of magic, offering comfort.

Gradually, the magic began to disappear, coinciding with Yuka's calming presence.

As the darkness disappeared, the light once again flooded the sky and revealed the destruction left behind by Kaminou's previous rampage.

...****************...

In Satoruu's mind, a faint yet familiar voice, Yuka's voice, echoed.

"Yuka!" shouted Satoruu.

Suddenly, Satoruu finds himself waking up in a room. His comrades engaged in conversation, but their attention quickly turned to him after hearing his screams.

Worries etched on his face, Yuka hugged him.

"Y–Yuka, it hurts!" Satoruu cringing.

Immediately, Yuka let go of her grip and offered an apology. Satoruu sits on the bed, taking care of his left shoulder to ease the pain.

Saishira, who sits near the study table, suggests that Satoruu stay in bed and expresses regret for the injury he accidentally inflicted while trying to distract him.

"I think I might know what's going on" Claire said, her voice echoing from outside the room.

Claire, the host they care for Satoruu, has been investigating the riddle surrounding Satoruu's ordeal. His investigations found that Demonical Darkness was a form of magic rarely encountered, if at all, in the known world. The effect can lead to fainting and completely losing control over a person's body.

This strange type of magic did not utilize Mana energy, but instead harnessed Afterlife energy, a difficult and little understood energy. No other form of magic is known to harness this energy, adding to the enigma that enveloped its existence.

As of now, the puzzle is still unsolved, leaving Satoruu only with fragmented knowledge. He understood that the Demonic Dragon had yet to completely annihilate, his soul had somehow stayed within his body, potentially causing the loss of control he experienced.

Despite all that, Satoruu finds himself helpless, having no choice but to avoid using that magic. The dangerous consequences pose a threat of further escalating chaos, as Saishira wisely warns. Choosing to avoid taking risks that could lead to dangerous outcomes seems the only prudent course of action.

With limited knowledge and little advice, Satoruu, Yuka, Shelina, and Viona return home. Claire's house, located inside a secluded alley, offers a sense of comfort.

Stepping out of the narrow path, they were greeted by the gently flowing landscape of autumn leaves, giving a momentary respite from their worries.

While visiting the city park, their attention is drawn to Princess Clarissa, Ryan, and Rayvin, who are looking for their friend. The three expressed a desire to travel to other kingdoms that are holding diplomatic agreements with their current kingdoms.

Thus, they embark on a journey to the kingdom of Emeralze, famous for its abundant emerald resources. The royal gate swung open, with the knights stationed there welcoming them warmly, letting Princess Clarissa in.

At nightfall, they walked to the palace to meet the royal prince. Prince Emmanuelle delivered a respectful greeting to their group.

Next, Emmanuelle and Clarissa disbanded into the discussion room to engage in talks on various matters, with the option of another to join and listen to a discussion.

After an hour had passed, Satoruu excused himself from the confines of the palace room, yearning for a breath of fresh air despite the cold night.

Biting to take off his gloves, he walked along the castle walls, next to the palace, enjoying the beautiful view of the capital.

Gazing at the vast expanse, his eyes were drawn to the delicate beauty of the starry sky, offering a momentary pause in the middle of the events of the day.

"Demonical Darkness, huh?" his inner. "I think my journey in this other world will be much more dangerous, and will probably be filled with chaos that lies behind peace."

A newfound sense of determination swelled within him as he pondered over the city ahead. He is ready to bear whatever burden awaits him, determined in him.

While removing the gemstone he had taken from the depths of the cave, he carefully examined the three colors of the white quartz—, black hematite, and red ruby. His gaze was attached to the three gems, the significance of which was not yet fully understood.
