Renting Flat

Ruby walked to the nearest bus stop. Every morning he runs a routine of going to college by public bus. Ruby doesn't know if Conrad's car is in the distance and sees Ruby entering the bus.

Yesterday while delivering Ruby, the young man immediately parked his car at a turn of the road, and peeked at Ruby. When he saw Ruby turn around, Conrad quietly followed her. And he saw Ruby enter a very very very simple flat. Conrad touched his heart.

She now understood the reason Ruby looked nervous and embarrassed as they ate together at the cafe. Conrad tried to understand why Ruby had covered her residence from all of them. Maybe Ruby is not confident and becomes embarrassed.

This time, Conrad replaced his car with a simpler car. Conrad wanted Ruby to feel safe and comfortable near him. Even Conrad is attached someday, will ask permission for Andrew to rent a simple flat in the area a few blocks from Ruby's flat.

Conrad starts running his car following Ruby's bus to campus. He got ahead of Ruby's bus when they were almost on campus. Conrad quickly parked his car.

"Where is your BMW? how to use an ancestor's Ford?" dion asked one of Conrad's best friends since High School.

"Hehe. Want to get in with this car. Let it not be flashy." said Conrad.

"Cieee. Time attracts girls with this old-fashioned car. No one wants to be with you." said Dion chuckling.

"Hehehe could exist" Conrad said in secret.

"Yehhhhh can be you. Nowadays where there are no girls matre. Especially at this college. No Matre don't eat not live they say." Dion bled Conrad's way of thinking which was strange to him.

Conrad shrugged his shoulders. He's convinced that Ruby isn't what Dion said she was. Ruby is sweet, looking like a fragile good woman.

Conrad noticed Ruby walking in front of him. He didn't listen to Dion talking Valentine's night with his girlfriend. Right now looking at Ruby's graceful and calm walking manner made Conrad want to walk beside him.

Finished with today's course, Conrad happened to meet Ruby on the campus courtyard. It seems the girl is going straight home. Because the direction is different from the library.

"Hi Ruby." Sapa Conrad friendly.

"Hi Conrad." Ruby smiled sweetly.

"You're not going to the library?" ask Conrad.

Ruby shakes.

"No, I have to go home right now." Ruby said.

"Then let me take you. I also want to go straight home." said Conrad excitedly.

"But..." Ruby hesitated.

"Just calm down, I won't kidnap you" Conrad said with a chuckle. Ruby laughed.

"All right then." said Ruby.

"Wait here. I'll get my butut car." Conrad ran towards the parking lot with a flowery day. She feels happy to be alone with Ruby without Jasmine or Robert.

"Hi Ruby's. Let's go in." Conrad greeted Ruby who was trying to hide her shock.

How not, he thought if Conrad would drive him in a safe car like before. But apparently, even an old Ford car. It's with wonder Ruby entered Conrad's car.

"Your car is changing?" ask Ruby.

"Ah.. no. This is my car." replied Conrad.

"But yesterday was different?" Asked Ruby in surprise.

"Oh no! That's one of my customers' cars. Dad asked me to take it as a test run, if it was good, after my machine was fixed" Conrad replied.

"Well..." Ruby mutters.

"Conrad just stop there." Ruby pointed to a shop that was still a few blocks from where she usually went down.

"here? Why?"

"I have business. Thank you very much." Ruby went down while waving her hand.

Conrad runs his car slowly and through the rearview mirror he sees Ruby entering a coffee shop. Out of curiosity, Conrad parked his car and headed to the coffee shop.

Conrad peeked through the glass that battered the coffee shop. He didn't see any Ruby among the customers. Conrad was astonished. Fia believes that Ruby entered the coffee shop. It was impossible for his eyesight to be wrong. Conrad then walks into the clothing store next to the coffee shop and he doesn't find Rubby.

Conrad returns to the coffee shop and is shocked to see a waiter there is Ruby. Worth it, there are times when Ruby seems to rush home and does not want to gather with them. Ruby turns out to be working part-time at a coffee shop and she doesn't want to be in the know.

Conrad abandoned his intention to enter the Coffee Shope. At first he wanted to go in and find Ruby there. But after seeing Ruby work, Conrad abandoned his intentions. He wants to keep Ruby feeling.

The handsome young man then drove his car into downtown Miami. While on his way to the city center, Conrad weighed the plan in his heart. He wanted to meet Andrew and speak as a man.

Arriving at the office. Conrad, who had been recognized by the workers there, was able to easily access his father's private elevator. He had to wait for a moment, because Andrew was in a meeting.

"You can wait inside. Mr. Andrew's meeting will be over in thirty minutes" Meita said. One of Andrew's staff secretaries.

"alright. I'll wait inside."

"no need. I just want to meet him. Thanks." said Conrad kindly.

The young man rested his back on the sofa comfortably. Forty minutes later, Andrew was back.

"What are you doing here, do you want to learn business?" ask Andrew seriously.

Conrad shakes.

"You know dad, I'm not talented in business. Aaron seemed to like it better. He looks more like you, dad." replied Conrad while chuckling.

"Hahahha everyone says that. Mini me's. Then what do you want right now." asked Andrew directly.

"Does there have to be a reason to come see you, dad?"

"You can't possibly come here just to ride a coffee." Andrew said with a laugh.

Of course Andrew knew Conrad, a young man who was always serious about his goals. He wouldn't come to the office if he was just playing. At home they can do it.

"Dad, you're jelly. " Conrad laughed loudly.

"Say your purpose."

"Dad, I want to rent a small flat" Conrad said.

"Heh?! But why?" asked Andrew in wonder.

Not all the facilities he has provided. Why choose a flat, not an apartment or a Penthouse.

"I like a girl. He's simple. And he seemed uncomfortable being among the people." Conrad told me slowly.

"Ah. My son is already a big man apparently. I'm starting to like a girl. Tell me about the girl." Andrew immediately moved to sit on Conrad's side.

"Name Ruby. She was a second semester medical student. The girl received a scholarship. She must be a smart girl, right?"

Andrew was still silent listening to the continuation of Conrad's story. Conrad later recounted how the beginning of his unlikely encounter with Ruby. How they spend time together in the library. How is the shame and closure of Ruby.

"So you swapped your car and chose to rent a flat to approach the girl?" ask Andrew.

"Yes dad."

"Are you sure he likes you?" ask Andrew.

"Come father. I want him to feel comfortable with me. Maybe as time goes by he can open up and after getting to know each other he will fall in love with me." said Conrad confidently.

"Then you're gonna stay in the flat forever? What if mommy and your sisters ask?"

"I won't stay in the flat permanently, dad."

"Only undercover?"

"That's it." said Conrad with a shy grin.

"He's similar to mommy, dad. His long black hair, his Asian white skin, his calm demeanor and graceful manner of walking." Conrad's eyes glared far away.

Andrew looked at Conrad who was being lulled in his thoughts. His eldest son is an adult now. Andrew could not hinder and forbid his wishes. Everything that happens will be a living process for Conrad. Especially about love. He will grow up after knowing the bitterness and sweetness of love. But Andrew promised not to let Conrad fall.

"Conrad. I'm not going to forbid you from approaching Ruby. You have to go through your process to get to know a woman. Maybe Ruby is physically similar to mommy, but not everyone who looks similar means having the same personality." Andrew paused his sentence for a moment and looked at Conrad who was still listening to his advice.

"Bukab means the same. You're right, you do have to know Ruby further to know her personality. But all you need to know, your mommy, Diana, she's a woman who's who she is and who's assertive. He is not ashamed of himself as a bartender. He's plain but firm. Even daddy initially had to use his power to ensnare mommy. Daddy hopes Ruby has a good nature too." Andrew looked at Conrad firmly.

Actually Andrew wanted to ban Conrad from renting a Flat only for Ruby. Based on Conrad's story that says if Ruby looks embarrassed by the state of her home and work, makes Andrew doubtful. But he realized, he could be too much. Conrad also needs life experience..

"One thing I want you to remember. If you cannot control yourself. Don't forget to wear Ko#dom. Don't make your mommy faint, by impregnating a woman you haven't married" Andrew said firmly.

"Hahhaha of course dad! But, you don't regret having me as your son, do you?" ask Conrad firmly. He still remembers being born to the woman who had betrayed Andrew.

"I never regret having you. Remember that! You're my son! You're my flesh and blood! I'm just sorry, the way I got you!" sahut Andrew sternly looked at Conrad.

"Yes dad, I understand. I'm the one who's sorry, because mommy Diana wasn't the mother who gave birth to me." said Conrad.

"But she is a mother who raised and cared for you lovingly. You know that, right?"

Conrad nodded.

"A lifetime, I can't repay her love."

"He didn't ask for that. Just want you to grow up to be a good, loving and responsible child. Remember that. Don't let anyone make you forget this." Andrew advised his eldest son.

Conrad leaves Andrew's office with advice from his father. He was eagerly looking for a simple flat to rent. Only one block from Ruby's flat. At first Conrad wanted to rent in the same building as Ruby, but unfortunately the flat there was already full.

Later that night, Conrad heads to the coffee shop where Ruby works. He deliberately applied to be a day worker there. Conrad wasn't half-assed to approach Ruby. She gave up all her luxury attributes for the sake of Ruby being able to feel comfortable with herself.
