CHAPTER 7

Bastian met his grandfather after breakfast. "Grandfather dear Tian right?" ask Bastian.

Derry nodded. "Grandfather's favorite grandson" he replied as he stroked Bastian's head.

"Tian also dear grandfather, therefore Tian wants grandfather to be healthy again until Tian gets married later. Grandpa wants to be present at Tian's wedding?" ask Bastian again.

Derry nodded again. "Of course grandfather wants to be like that" he replied.

"Then, listen to Tian's words. Tian will arrange a trip for grandparents to America. Grandpa should seek treatment there and return to Indonesia in good health. Tian will contact the best doctor there to treat Grandpa." Bastian said.

Derry looked down long. "If grandparents go to America, how can you meet grandchildren" he replied sadly.

"We'll wait for grandfather to come home, at most grandfather's there half a year. We can do a video call if grandpa misses us. Papi and Mami will also definitely visit you there. Want a cake? Tian wants grandfather to live longer." Bastian asked.

"Do you want to visit Grandpa there too?" ask Derry.

"Of course grandfather, Tian would find some free time to visit grandfather and grandmother. If grandfather agrees, we will arrange for you to live there." replied Bastian.

Finally Derry nodded. Bastian hugged her. "Grandfather don't worry, Tian will manage everything well" Bastian said again.

"It's over, you're leaving for America the day after tomorrow. Tian had arranged everything." Bastian told his grandmother and parents after leaving his grandfather's room.

"It's only your words that your grandfather listens to you dear." replied Emili.

"Grandma don't worry, Tian has arranged trips, lodging and hospitals for grandfather" Bastian said.

Emili hugged Bastian. "Thank you dear granddaughter, grandma will miss you all while in America."

"We can make a video call" replied Bastian.

"We will also visit you every month or two months" Rafael said.

Delia just smiled happily. Bastian went to his office.

"Today's the beginning of Tian's new secretary's work, Tian hopes there will be no more next secretary" Bastian said.

"It depends on your hard attitude baby, control it, lest he run away again." replied Delia.

Bastian just chuckled and got into his car to his company.

Kania Morris was waiting for the bus, he once saw his watch. He cannot be late on his first day at work. He began to panic when he knew the bus was not coming.

I could have been fired the first day I worked.

Kania looked at his wallet, he sighed. If he takes a taxi, he can't eat today. But he had to do it, he didn't want to be late. Once again he looked to the right, the bus was nowhere to be seen. Eventually he had to take a taxi.

"Can't find a faster way to Widjaja's company? It's my first day at work sir." asked Kania to the taxi driver.

"You can try, but a great neng can get into the biggest company" replied the taxi driver.

"Maybe I'm lucky sir." said Kania flat.

"Neng is very beautiful, maybe the boss likes it." said the taxi driver again.

Kania just chuckled in response. Dreaming of any where maybe his boss likes him. Dewi fortuna was still there for him, he arrived at the company 15 minutes before the working hours began. He went straight to the 4th floor where he worked. Jodhi sir was waiting for him there.

"Good morning sir." said Kania.

"Good morning, thankfully you came early. This is your desk, this is a pending job as long as there are no secretaries, this is Bastian's schedule today. For the next time you take notes and always remind him an hour before the schedule. I hope you can do it well. Mr. Bastian hates mistakes. He also does not like slow people. You understand, right?" jodhi explained.

Kania nodded and picked up the documents that were piling up as well as the records of her boss' schedule. He opens his laptop and one by one he does it after Jodhi leaves him.

"Pa..morning sir." said Kania stammered.

"Good morning too. Did I surprise you?" ask Bastian.

Innocently Kania nodded. "I don't mean sir" he replied.

Bastian chuckles. "You're coming with me" Bastian said as he headed for the elevator.

Kania was confused, he did not flinch from his desk.

"You heard no." cried Bastian.

Kania regains consciousness, and picks up her bag and follows Bastian to the elevator.

"I don't want to repeat my words Kania, don't daydream often." said Bastian.

"Sorry sir." replied Kania.

Bastian took her to the parking lot. "Come in." he ordered.

Kania is confused where his boss wants to take him, he continues to be silent until finally Bastian takes him to a boutique.

"Pick some clothes for you to work on, I don't want to see you wearing the clothes you're wearing today." Bastian ordered.

"But sir I have no money" replied Kania.

"I'll pay for it, but it's not free. I'll cut your salary every month" Bastian said.

"But sir." said Kania again.

"What do I say to refute?" bastian.

Kania was surprised to hear the clash, he immediately picked out the clothes and tried it. Bastian assessed his appearance. There are about 10 clothes that Bastian likes.

"I take just one sir, everything is very expensive. I can't pay it off" Kania said.

"Take it all, you only pay for the one shirt you're wearing right now. And that's 9 gifts from me." replied Bastian.

Kania wants to refuse but Bastian's sharp gaze scares her. "It's too much but I can't resist" he murmured.

"I heard you Kania." said Bastian.

"Sorry sir and thank you." replied Kania.

"You'll always go with me out to meet clients and eat. If you look like you did this morning, I'll be embarrassed. You're not just a company secretary. You are also my personal assistant." said Bastian.

Damn this man insulted my appearance, muttered Kania inwardly.

"I'm not insulting you, Kania, but I want a perfect secretary" Bastian said.

Kania widened his eyes, this man is a boss what a fortune teller, why he knows his heart.

"I'm sorry sir." replied Kania. "But what does Mr. Bastian mean as a personal assistant?" ask Kania.

"I gave you another job, a different salary. You just need to accompany me to eat and meet me whenever I need you. There is no negotiation. It's an order." he said arrogantly.

Kania breathed her breath. He had to keep his job for the sake of his mother and sister. And that extra salary was very good for him. Kania nodded. "Alright sir I agree." replied Kania.

"Good." said Bastian and took him back to his office. "Let the stuff in my car. You'll come home with me." Bastian ordered.

Kania can't refuse. He just followed Bastian's orders and went back to his desk. Bastian walks into his office and renders his body in a chair. He smiles. "This woman is really beautiful, I'm very interested in her. A good first step to meeting her often." murmured to himself.
