Chapter 36

The night slowly began to fall. Elena's making dinner. Actually he was tired of having to cook when he wanted to eat but if not so he was confused about having to do it at home. Homework is cleaned.

After cooking a simple menu, Elena sat in front of the television while waiting for Adam's return. He was afraid like this afternoon he came and wanted to eat together. But until the clock shows at 20:00 Adam has not yet come home and preach it. So Elena decided to eat alone.

After eating, he read some of the books he bought. Not a heavy read, just a novel. Not felt until the clock shows at 21:55. Adam has not yet returned. Elena was a little anxious but she did not want to care too much about Adam and involved herself too much in Adam's life.

Elena closed her book, just about to lay down her phone vibrating the sign of the incoming message. In a hurry he opened the message with a new number.

You waited for him? He's not coming home tonight. She's mine.

Although without a name, Elena could guess that this must be the number Emili and Adam were there. He's not coming home tonight. Elena is pretty sure it is Emili considering how she saw Emili and Adam embracing each other while at Renata's mom's house.

Elena ignored the message. There was no influence on him. Adam sleeps wherever he doesn't care. Especially when he is in the apartment, he does not need to bother looking for reasons why Adam did not come home after work. Elena pulled out her blanket and began to close her eyes. But many times the vibration of his phone is disturbing.

Elena wakes up and deactivates her phone and goes to sleep. Emili really bothered him. If Adam wanted to be there, why bother him? Does Emili expect Elena to be jealous? Elena smiled in oblique fashion.

Adam was taking a shower when Elena woke up. He immediately prepared breakfast for them. Whether Adam came home at what time, Elena fell asleep. After bathing and getting dressed, Adam met Elena who was cooking.

"I don't eat breakfast" he said, drinking warm water.

"No problem, it's for me" Elena replied.

"You weren't waiting for me last night?" ask her with a high level of confidence.

"What am I doing waiting for someone who has fallen asleep in someone's room" Elena replied facing Adam.

"Good!" he said as it passed. Elena felt angry, as if she was unappreciated.

"Whatever!" elena answered back to cooking. Today Adam's cold attitude came back out. Elena confused herself with Adam's attitude which was briefly kind, briefly spoiled then cold. There was a lot of influence Emili had on him. Elena just prayed that she would be patient with Adam's attitude.

After cooking, Adam bailed to work. Meanwhile Elena immediately took a shower and had breakfast. After breakfast, Elena checked the e-mail sent to Hans. All have been read, but none have been answered. Elena was eager to hear from the man, making sure that he was okay there.

There's not much Elena can do in her unit. Bored inside, he headed for the balcony. At least on the balcony he could see the morning view as well as the warm sunlight caressing his skin. He misses his friends especially Hans. His mind was always on Hans.

He just remembered his deactivated phone. Elena went inside and grabbed her phone. Then revive. After the condition of the phone turns on many consecutive messages that come in. One of them was from his mother-in-law, Renata who asked him.

Elena called Renata immediately.

"Hello? You all right?" ask mama Renata.

"Okay ma, what's wrong?" ask Elena.

"Nothing, mama just wanted to make sure you and Adam. Oh yeah, did Adam come home last night?" tanyakanya.

"Home home, don't worry,"

"No matter what, Adam is doing a lot of work" replied Elena.

"If there's anything, don't hesitate to tell your mom, yes,"

"Yes, thank you for caring about Elena,"

"Of course you care, yes, you want to go. If you have to stop by,"

"Good ma, be careful on the road,"

"Sure, bye!" Elena swiped the red button and saw another incoming message. Dominant is a new nomir belonging to Emili who sent various pictures. Actually Elena was lazy to open but out of curiosity, Elena opened it. Then he clutched his mouth. Didn't think that Emili was as brave as it was sending friendly photos of himself and Adam. Even when they sleep together. Elena felt disgusted and immediately exited the chat application.

Elena felt a little dizzy. Emili is absolutely outrageous. I don't know why he sent all their photos to Elena. It was said that he did not care about Adam. Or is Emili angry that finally she married Adam then intend to make Elena's life uncomfortable?

Elena decided to shop at the market not far from her apartment. Rather than thinking about her husband and Emili's minus behavior, it was better to shop and cook something for her mother-in-law. Elena waits and the vehicle turns quiet, she'll cross.

When it was quiet, Elena crossed the street but when she was about to get across a car speeding towards her and almost hit her. The speeding car nudged his arm slightly to a reddening and Elena fell onto the sidewalk with someone hugging her. While the car that crashed fled.

Elena immediately broke away when she realized that their faces were very close.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean it..."

"It's okay, thanks for helping me," Elena said as she flicked her clothes from the dust.

"This is your wallet?" tanyakanya.

"Oh yeah... Thank you," said Elena. Several pedestrians and other motorists who saw the incident pulled over. They saw Elena's situation, when it felt Elena was fine they immediately dispersed.

Elena immediately walked to the nearest market and bought instant food, she also bought some bread and snacks. After paying, Elena walked towards her apartment.

Elena stood on the sidewalk waiting to cross the street. Before long someone stood beside him.

"You're good, I can't treat it but it's gonna be useful" he thrusts out a patch of wound plaster.

"Thank you but this is too much" Elena said as she realized the man was helping her earlier.

"Take everything, the rest is saved. You wanna cross again?" tanyakanya.

"Yes," Elena replied short while keeping the plaster from the man in her pocket.

"Come, I'll cross over too. I live back there, "pointing her towards Elena's apartment.

"Hmmm okay," Elena nodded then they crossed over together. During the journey they kept quiet until they arrived at the alley that separated them. The man walked into an alley, headed to his house. Elena continued to walk towards her apartment.
