Chapters 124. Adoption Child

It's been a few days since Ella was bullied by thugs. Albert asked the police and the college to investigate the case. One by one the troubling gangs of thugs were finally arrested.

"How's Ethan doing?" albert asked, when Ella visited his house.

"He's healed, really. I started college" Ella said. "Thank you for coming to our aid at that time" Ella said.

"Thank God. You should be thanking Ethan. He called Dad. He's also the one who got battered for helping you" Albert said.

"I think Dad's going to be mad, I'm going out with him" Ella said.

"Why should you be angry?" ask Albert.

"Yes, you didn't like seeing me meet her" Ella said.

"I used to want to see him first, what he was like. But after meeting a few times, especially at the meatball stall, I could see that he was a good guy. I'm glad you met a guy like that" Albert said sincerely.

"Thank you" said Ella. "Father's attitude now is like a lot of fathers, yes," Ella said.

"Well, you're already gentlemen" Albert said with a laugh.

"But Father is now twenty-seven years old. Too young to be a father. Even my professors are much older" Ella said.

"Are you actually praising Dad, or insinuating Dad, anyway?" murmured Albert, glancing at Ella.

"Hahaha, thank you. Oh yeah, maybe Ethan didn't tell you, if at the meatballs yesterday asked for permission to date you," Albert said.

"Huh? Really?" said Ella. "So you knew we were dating before he told you about it at the hospital?" said Ella. Albert nodded.

"Ahhh, I'm so embarrassed." Ella covered her face with both palms. He did not expect, if Ethan dared to ask permission from his stepfather.

"Why embarrassed? The father of a real man has to be like that" Albert said.

"Yes, anyway," Ella muttered. To be honest, in his heart, he really liked Ethan's attitude. But Ella was ashamed to admit it. "I'm also ashamed to think of the past. I used to like Dad before I married Mama" the girl continued.

"You're not wrong, though. Liking someone is not a big sin. You used to like me, before we had any relationship, right?" said Albert. Ella nodded her head.

"What matters now is that we have accepted each other's circumstances. I'm your father and you're my daughter" Albert said.

"Right, I'm also happy to see you smiling like you used to" Ella said.

"Well, so no more trouble, right?" said Albert.

"Haaah, I didn't expect that we would be able to talk like this. Even talking about my boyfriend," Ella said.

Albert smiled at her. "We are now a family. Actually, someone wants me to talk to you" Albert said.

"Oh yeah? Whatuh? it's like a serious thing" Ella said.

"Your mother's father will go to France next month" Albert said.

"Wow, France?" exclaim Ella.

Albert nodded. "We'd like to visit Lilibeth to discuss business. Then, we also want to adopt a child" Albert said. Ella simply looked at Albert, without giving a response.

"Why is your expression that? Don't you agree, we adopted a child?" ask Albert.

"I'm actually supportive of all of Mama's and Dad's decisions. Why should we adopt? I thought you wanted to have a real child?" ask Ella.

"Your mother's age is already difficult if you want to have more children" explained Albert. "But we were lonely at home, because you were in college. We chose adoption. You want another sister?" Ask Albert.

"Whatever Mama and Dad's best decision is, I definitely support it" Ella said sincerely.

"Thank you, Ella. You are really an adult now. Your mindset is a lot different than it used to be" says Albert.

Duh, Ella was embarrassed to hear that. He used to try all kinds of ways, to be looked at as an adult by Albert. Apparently now without doing anything, Albert who is now his stepfather instead praised her as a mature woman.

"Then as long as Dad's in France, you can accompany your grandmother, right?" ask Albert.

"Of course you can" replied Ella. She was close to Albert's mother.

Three weeks later, Albert and Ghina left for France in Keysersberg.

Arriving in the city of Keysersberg, they searched the address of Lili's house while enjoying the view of the city. The two couples walked out of the beautiful old town. The trip felt like the first honeymoon for Ghina and Albert.

"I'm really happy to be able to go alone with you" Ghina said.

"Sorry, sweetheart. I should've taken you on vacation a long time ago" Albert said.

"Hmm? I don't have a problem, anyway. We used to focus on taking care of Mama and taking care of Ella who was still unstable" Ghina said.

"I feel like I thank you so many times because you want to be my wife" Albert said, clasping Ghina's hand.

"Nowevert? I should be grateful, dong. You want to accept my one-kayak-child widow" Ghina said.

"If his widow is beautiful and kind as you are, I really want to" said Albert.

"Basic gumbal" Ghina said. "Eh, this is Lili's address, isn't it?" chirps Ghina. They stopped at a cafe that was decades old.

"Bienvenue. Que souhaitez-vous avoir?" A servant greeted them in French.

"What did he say?" whispered Ghina did not understand.

"He welcomes us. He then asked us what we wanted to order" whispered Albert.

"Quel est le meilleur menu item? Nous voulons aussi rencontrer Lilibeth." Albert replied to the servant's words.

"Hi, you came looking for me?" A beautiful woman came down from the second floor.

"How are you Lili?" ghina said with a smile.

"My news is good" said Lili. He then told the waiter to prepare the best dish for his two guests.

"So this is your papa's cafe?" ask Albert.

"Yes, I was broke when my dad and my husband died. But I tried to open it again" said Lili.

"You know what, don't you? I'm so sad that you suddenly left without telling me" Ghina said.

"Sorry, my residence permit in Indonesia is up" said Lili. "But I've read your messages. Really want to cooperate with my cafe?" ask Lili.

Ghina and Albert nodded. They also talked about business with Lili, while having lunch.

"I'm really happy to be in business with you guys" said Lili. "But I'm curious about one thing," Lili seemed hesitant to ask.

"What about adoption?" ghina. Lili nodded her head.

"So we decided to adopt a child. You must be wondering, why go all the way to France for child adoption?" said Albert.

"Yes, I was curious about that. But I'm afraid I'm wrong to say it" said Lili.

"Actually the child we wanted to adopt, was the son of my relatives. His name is Noel, he's five years old. He used to live in France. Since her parents died, she has had no one left and lives in an orphanage" Albert said.

"We want to have children, and he needs parents. That's why we decided to adopt him" Ghina said.

"Aww, you two are very good, anyway," said Lili.

"Je suis la maison, Mom." Suddenly a boy, about seven years old came to see Lili. Ghina was stunned to see the handsome boy.

"He's my son, you remember, right?" said Lili.

"Bonjour, kid," said Albert.

"Bonjour, uncle," the boy replied as he lowered his body.

"I'm glad I heard stories from you. Otherwise I would be surprised. He's a bit like you, Al," Ghina said.

"We mean we frothed together handsome, right?" albert said with a laugh.
