Marrying My Ex-Husband's Boss

Marrying My Ex-Husband's Boss
Perfect

Drizzle coloring the morning is still dark. The cloud covered the sunlight that should spread orange on the horizon. Birds that were singing, like reluctant to leave their nests. Only the piercing cold air was able to rouse Kira from her deep sleep.

Kira hugged her roll tightly which felt warm. Dipping deeper, seeking comfort.

Wait for. A roll?

Kira squinted one eye, finding wide shoulders wrapped in a red brick T-shirt. Kira let out a stifled scream, her clueless hands curled around Harris' waist. And his head rests on Harris's arm.

Kira held her breath, holding back the pounding of her abnormally beating heart. Slowly, he pulled out his hand, his eyes watching Harris who was still asleep. Kira retreated slowly so as not to wake Harris up. And walk tiptoe to the bathroom.

Kira covered her face with both palms. How could his hand be so prosthetic, what does this hand want to touch that perfect body? Kira rushed to flutter her head which began to feel hot. Annoyed, with his body betraying his heart, wait for his heart to begin to betray his mind.

“Be ordinary, as if nothing had happened, Kira. Harris doesn't know this”

A powerful spell that can strain Kira's heart. Kira exhales repeatedly to organize her feelings before exiting the bathroom.

Kira could breathe a sigh of relief, seeing Harris still sleeping. He does all his needs and Harris is quick but still cautious. He was afraid to wake the lion wrapped in a blanket.

Kira sharpened her ears when she faintly heard her son's voice. Kira turned towards the room where the voice came from. Kira thought the children were coming to Utinya's house, because last night Kira went straight to bed after dinner. Plus his phone was left in the cafe.

Kira hugs Jen, who is closest to the door.

“My dear, Mama kangen” Jerit Kira scratched Jenny's neck.

“Mama is healed?” Ask Excel who is neat in his school uniform.

“Yes, Mama's healed, you know, Mama's sick?” Kira pulls Excel into her embrace.

“Know, Grandpa brought us see Mama” replied Jen.

“Grandpa?”

“Iya, Grandpa. Back then, Mama was still sleeping, so had no idea we were coming” Jenny told me with sparkling eyes. Jenny is so happy.

“Oh, so? Sorry, yes, my dear. Mama didn't know you guys came” Kira rubbed one by one her son's bushy hair. Cuddled them once more, as apologies continued to echo in Kira's heart.

Children must leave early considering the distance from school and home is now further away. Breakfast, even started early. So Harris came down when the children had gone to school with Agus.

Harris came down with a black after which Kira had prepared. I don't think I thought it would turn out like this. Perfect. Kira stared at Harris down the stairs with a cell phone stuck to her ear. Kira barely blinked, even as it slowed down. There's just him and Harris. Kira bit her lips to withstand the turmoil inside her chest.

“If only, he had no other woman, if only, we met earlier, if only, we met in a better way”

And there are many other suppositions, tiled in the heart of Kira. Looking at the man in his arms, the man with comfort in his way.

“Nyonya” Johan touches Kira's arm slowly.

“Iya” Kira stammered. He's back on earth. Harris was already sitting on the chair, and looking at him in wonder.

“Do you see ghosts?” Ask Johan. She also glanced over where Kira nailed her gaze.

Kira blinked repeatedly, her face was as red as a tomato, caught admiring her own husband.

“Ah, that, isn't. I guess, I forgot something” Kira didn't return Johan and Harris's gaze. Kira chose to spend her breakfast that was out of shape.

“Yes God, I hate myself”

Harris and Johan look at each other, seeing Kira's oddity. They think Kira has not fully recovered from her illness.

Kira arrives at the Ivy cafe, escorted by Agus. Harris wouldn't let Kira ride a motorcycle after this morning.

“There are, cafe employees in between luxury cars?” chirps Ivy.

“What the hell?”

“Don't embarrass your man, yes, his wife is the boss of work in the cafe. Not funny.”

“Yes, keep getting the money from where?”

“Yes, this is a boy. Still fainted? Laki lu rich say, time not in love his limited card?”

“What's tuh?”

“Laki you don't give money shopping for you?”

Kira shook her head,

“Times anyway?”

“Truly, why would I lie to you, Vy.” Answer Kira. Kira never hid anything from Ivy. Ivy could no longer speak.

"Why did you pass out?" Tanya Ivy changed the topic of the chat.

"Fatigue, dehydration and not eating yet" Kira replied casually. He breezed to the long table where he spent his working hours.

"Emang nyangkul's? pake exhausted everything?" Ivy Sahut.

Kira just shrugged her shoulders. He himself did not know what the doctor meant.

"How many rounds last night?" Ivy nudged Kira's arm.

"What the hell? Think dong, Vy. Where that might be, we don't know each other, we don't love each other. That's impossible" Kira poked Ivy with the bag she was about to put.

"Maybe, Ra. People don't need feelings for that. Believe me, just wait for the right time and romantic to get you there" said Ivy Centil. Ivy's resting her body on the table. His eyes were watching Kira who refused to return her gaze. Ivy felt Kira was hiding something from him.

"No way, Vy. What if he still expects his girlfriend back?" Saying this, Kira felt pain. His heart began to be unwilling. His heart was getting greedy. If only.

"Where do you know?"

"He said it himself. And I'm just a troublemaker in their relationship."

Neither Ivy nor Kira, mute. If this is the case, Ivy doesn't know what to do.

Around the time of lunch, the cafe began to be crowded at the customer visit. Kira and Ivy are getting busy serving their customers.

“Wah, whew. My ex-in-law works here apparently?” Kira looked up to see who was speaking.

Kira breathed out, when she saw who was speaking.

“Say, look at my pretentious ex-in-law asking for a divorce, so what is she now?” Riana pokes her best friend. Pointing Kira with her chin.

Riana's friends started boisterously mocking Kira.

“This is a poor man who suddenly became rich because of my sister's marriage, and now back to his origin. Poor”

They laughed mocking Kira and walked towards the table not far from where Kira was standing.

Kira tries to be patient. In the middle of the cafe that is crowded with visitors, Kira is unlikely to make a scene.

“Why him?” ivy whispers.

“Custom, yesterday to twist” Reply Kira whispered anyway. Ivy and Kira laughed.

Riana and her 4 friends dominated the cafe with their voices. He was like a winner, as he intimidated Kira by bringing along a troupe.

Kira was not daunted at all, she only knew where to place the storm. And here's not the right place. This is where Ivy and Ivy scavenge for sustenance. And, what can be obtained by showing the power that does not belong to him?

Kira knows who Riana brought here. They are families of important and respected people. In the past, it was Kirlah who served them food and drinks when they visited the house.

Kira is not proud to be married to Rian. Oppression that was done blatantly or secretly, felt Kira for 10 years living with them. Looking at that time, Kira can now smile, escape from slavery under the guise of a household.

Kira and Ivy looked at Riana with scornful looks. But that doesn't make them self-conscious. Acting annoying and haughty is the hallmark of Riana and her mother.
