Hendra parked his car in a garage directly connected to the back hallway of the kitchen. The house he had been living in since Almeer's birth. And since he resigned as a state servant.
Yes, since it was discovered that he lived separately with Vivian, since then, Hendra had to give up the profession that he had been passionate about since Elementary School. Replacing the father who had patiently waited until Hendra was ready to serve as the chairman of his company.
This sizable two-story house is proof of his hard work all along. Hendra climbed the stairs to his room, after putting his car keys in a drawer. However, his steps were blocked as he passed through Vivian's room. He heard the sound of Almeer's crying.
Hendra pushed the door open, and Almeer, who was grunting loudly, was about to cry. Heard the sound of water from the bathroom. Hendra sighed, lifting the baby boy who had not even two months.
"Why Papa's hotshot? Thirsty huh?" almeer put him in his arm.
Almeer's body feels sticky and moist. Sultry, thought Hendra. He walked into his son's wardrobe, picked up a towel and some sheets of clothes and diapers shaped pants. He thought, it's too long to wait for Vivian. So Hendra took Almeer to his room.
Arriving in the room, Hendra prepared warm water with Almeer in his deck. A little trouble, because Almeer just keeps moving. Hendra imagined how difficult it would be for Vivian to take care of Almeer without anyone's rocks. Especially from her, her husband, her father Almeer. Guilt ran deep in Hendra's heart.
Almeer whined again as he was placed on the bed, rubbing his eyes with both hands.
"Hey, you can hurt your eyes. Wait a minute, Papa's gonna take your shirt off, okay!"
Slowly and carefully, Hendra undressed Almeer. "Oh my God, it's hard to turn out." Hendra wiped his sweaty forehead.
With a small wet towel, Hendra rubbed his son's entire body. Almeer kicked in excitement.
"Do you like it?" Hendra made Almeer's bouncing cheeks, the baby making a funny sound. His hand reached out, wanting to grab his Papa's hand.
"While you're happy, you need to get dressed. Otherwise the witch will scold Papa. Youunderstand?"
"Who's the witch?" Vivian was already in the doorway with her fierce face. The glasses were perched again at the base of his nose. Hendra who was going to put diapers on Almeer froze in place.
"Em, yes.grandmother magic! Magical grandmothers will be angry and bewitch anyone who is naughty. Isn't that right, Al?!"
"You're telling me, right?" Vivian stepped towards Hendra's bed. Put his body there. He noticed Hendra wearing clothes on Almeer's body. Admittedly, Hendra was quite good at it.
"You like to be prejudiced, Al. Or is your mom too confident?" Vivian clucking.
Hendra felt Vivian was watching his movements. He glimpsed the woman at a glance, before ending his movement on the buttons on his son's shoulder. Hendra smiled faintly as Vivian looked maniacal.
"I think he's ready to sleep again now" Hendra said softly.
"Thank you!" Vivian smiled as she grabbed Almeer's body, she immediately got out of Hendra's bed and stepped out.
Hendra's glued to the spot, kelu. It felt like she was preventing Vivian from coming out of her room, but, she was too embarrassed to approach Vivian after what she had been doing all this time.
He was looking for a good reason to be with them again. He looked at Almeer's clothes scattered on his bed. There he is, he thought.
Hendra immediately darted into Vivian's room next to her. Hendra pushed the door without hesitation. Vivian was so surprised to see Hendra standing on the doorstep. Hurried on the lid again his chest.
"I. delivered Almeer's shirt," Hendra looked nervous as he caught a glimpse of the smooth mound. "Will he sleep no more?"
Hendra put Almeer's dirty clothes in a special basket of dirty clothes. Confidence enveloped both.
"That's how, her sleepiness might disappear after her body was refreshed," Vivian confirmed again the sitting position and her clothes, as Hendra sat in front of her. Almeer seemed cheerful moving in the bed, his big eyes looking in all directions, reaching for the empty air in front of him.
"Vi..," Vivian turned towards Hendra. This close, he only realized Hendra had a deathly sad look.
"I know you won't forgive me easily, instead, I won't ask you to quit your job. And I'm not gonna ask you to cook anymore. I'll find Art so you don't clean the house anymore!" sahut Hendra when Vivian was about to open her mouth. He would not listen to the rejection of his apology. He realized, he was too cruel to treat his wife all this time.
Vivian chirped, "Is my cooking bad?"
Hendra wet his lips, honestly yes. But Hendra doesn't dare say it now.
"I've expected it," Vivian sneered.
"No, Vi. Not that," Hendra shook his palm in front of Vivian.
"Don't lie, I know how, it feels terrible!" Vivian looked at her husband. From behind the glasses, Vivian's gaze looked fierce.
Hendra sighed resignedly, "To be honest.iya!"
Silent.
Silent.
The two glanced at each other, and then laughed.
"Well, I'll learn to cook from now on!" vivian said after his laughter had subsided.
"No need. Just do as you please! We'll start all over, I hope you'll accept all my flaws. I want to be a good husband and father to you," Hendra looked at Vivian expectantly.
"Alright, I also hope that you will lead me to be even better," Vivian commented with a faint smile, making the indentations on her cheeks appear.
Hendra nodded, as he held Vivian's hand. She was relieved that Vivian did not reject her.
"Sleep, let me take care of Almeer!" said Hendra softly.
"I'm not sleepy, Almeer will sleep when it's early morning, so I'm used to staying up with him" Hendra was stunned to hear Vivian's words. All this time he didn't know this. He felt more and more guilty towards Vivian.
"Close your eyes! Pretend sleep! Now I'll take your place looking after her," Vivian frowned.
"We keep it together," Vivian broke up, Hendra did not know how the baby was staying up late.
Hendra sighed, he had to give up. He wants to be an understanding and patient husband. Adjusting to Vivian who has a closed nature. He's the one who has to ask a lot and be open, like.
Almeer seemed to know his parents made up. He chattered merrily in a language that only he understood. His presence unites two hearts that turn back to each other.
Vivian felt herself warm up, seeing the laughter of her husband and son. His heartache slowly faded, his patience now paid off, his tears changed happily. I don't know what luck was holding him, when he forced Hendra to drive him to Kira's house today.
Ah, love always finds ways, unexpected and sometimes beyond the reach of human reason. Love is simple, very simple and exists. It is in every living body.
