22. Between Life and Death

The car continued to split the highway, the abdominal pain that Nina felt for a while stopped then after a few minutes and then hurt again, and so on and the more here the duration of the pain she felt the longer.  While the time frame is getting shorter.

I saw the clothes Nina was wearing wet with sweat.  I immediately took out a tissue to wipe away the sweat that was soaking all over his face.

"Love him drink water, it's near you there's still sealed water" Anggara said.

I immediately saw my side, it turned out that there was a cardboard filled with mineral water whose laxation had been opened.  I immediately took one glass and stabbed it with a straw in the cardboard, then gave it to Nina when the pain was stopping.

"Thank you Elen, " said Nina to receive a glass of mineral water that I gave her.  He immediately sucked it up to the end.   I offered her another glass, but she refused it because the pain she felt came again.

Nina gripped my wrist firmly to endure the pain. I saw the sky was pitch-black in sign of a heavy rain. 

Finally the car driven by my husband entered the area of the maternity hospital Kasih Bunda, which is the maternity hospital closest to our residence. 

"You wait here, let me just go out to tell the nurse on duty," Anggara said as he got out of the car and ran for the ER.  

Soon I saw Anggara's brother coming with two sisters who were pushing the bankar of the hospital.  I immediately asked Nina to come out. 

The nurse helped Nina out of the car and laid Nina's body on the bankar, while I followed behind.  When Nina's body was lying on the bankar, suddenly the rain fell very heavily soaked us all who were half running pushing Nina's body to enter the ER room. 

Rain drops that felt big immediately made all our bodies wet.  After arriving at the ER room the nurse pushed Nina into the handling room.  While me and Anggara's sister wait outside while shivering.

"Dear you bring a change of clothes, you should change first, fear it will catch a cold" said my husband. 

I nodded then headed to the public toilet carrying a bag containing a change of clothes and changed all my clothes and then returned to the place where Anggara's sister was waiting for Nina. 

"The family of the patient named Nina's mother, who will accompany the birth"

A female doctor with a beautiful and soothing face, walked out of the room where Nina was being treated.   I immediately went inside to accompany Nina while Anggara's sister kept waiting outside. 

Arriving in a room with various birth aids and several officers dressed in white.  Nina was lying on a bed with both thighs open ready for childbirth. 

I approached Nina stroking her hair, then kissed her forehead while saying a few words to encourage her. 

"It's already a full opening now take a deep breath then push with all your might.  My spirit is mom, soon mom will have a beautiful baby girl.  So it should always be upbeat, optimistic and do not forget to be happy, because the pain that you feel at this time will soon pay off. 

We started yes…. One....two.. three..

Nina followed the instructions given by the doctor.   She pushed hard to push the baby out.   Sweat continued to wet his entire face, the entire veins of his face and neck were clearly visible.  He gripped both of my arms while shouting"

I felt very tense, just this time watching the woman who was giving birth.  Nina shouted while the pain was heartbreaking.  Cold sweat suddenly soaked my entire body.  From the bottom of my heart, I offer my Lord my heartfelt prayers, asking for the safety of Nina and her baby. 

Repeatedly Nina took a deep breath and then exhaled while pushing the baby in her stomach. 

"Keep ma'am...continue a little more yes, it's out of his head," the doctor pointed his palms right in front of the door of Nina's womb. 

Hoeeek.....hoeeek…

A tiny baby full of blood came out of the mouth of Nina's womb and immediately greeted both palms of the doctor's mother and placed on Nina's stomach, Nina's hands immediately welcomed the baby, embraced her and caressed her.   A nurse immediately gave a cloth to dry the baby's body so that the baby does not get cold.   

While the doctor immediately sewed a torn uterus due to childbirth without anesthetizing it first.   But I saw Nina's face look calm like she no longer felt pain.   All I see is a happy face full of smiles. 

I looked at the little baby who was struggling to find ****** his mother's milk until he finally succeeded.   It was amazing, I felt happy to see the beautiful scenery in front of me. 

"Elena here"

With a still weak voice, Nina called out to me.   I immediately approached her and kissed her forehead. 

"Congratulations Nina, your baby is so beautiful.   You should be proud to have it," I said giving him spirit. 

Now I just saw a clear grain draining from his eye peluk.

"Thank you Elen, I didn't think you and your husband were really good people.  You help people really sincerely regardless of whether that person ever ruined your life" Nina sobbed. 

"Hehe…. "

I laughed as I wiped my tears holding back my day. 

"I was going to ruin my life, but you see if my life was ruined because of you.  It is all thanks to the help of God, the God who gives strength, the God who is all.   So I should be grateful because what you did was a form of my Lord's affection so that I did not have a husband like Andrea and became my way to marry Anggara's sister. 

So what I do to you is as a form of gratitude for all the gifts that God loves for me, namely by doing good to anyone.  Because God really likes his people who like to do good," I told Nina.

After sewing Nina's birth canal, doctors took Nina's baby for cleaning. 

"Please get the baby's gear ready, ma'am"

Say one of the sisters to me.   I'm.  I just remembered that we didn't bring baby clothes with us. 

"What is the hospital selling baby clothes mom, if there is help I just buy it All of you," said Nina with a sad face and she looked at me. 

"Sadly there is no ma'am" replied the nun.

"Relax Nina.I'll tell my husband to look for her out there" I said, leaving Nina, without hearing what Nina was going to say.   For me the baby clothes are more important, she's afraid she's cold.

I hurriedly walked over to Anggara's sister who was waiting in the waiting room.   How surprised I was when Anggara handed me a small suitcase that I did not know what it contained.
