Matthew Fernandez sat quietly behind his desk. There was an implied satisfaction behind the skin of his face. He smiled with satisfaction as he saw the Pradipta Group begin to enter an era of destruction. Just waiting for time for him to be able to control the entire management of the Pradipta Group completely. The debt really helps. Although it had to be done some sneaky tricks to ensnare Mahendra El Pradipta, it proved his tactics worked. He only used the naive nature of the man to persuade him to cooperate. Intercom on the right side of his desk rang.
"Sorry sir, we can't block Azri El Pradipta."
"Whatdidyou say? What kind of bodyguards are you!!" he was shocked and in disbelief. He had already put dozens of people in to prevent anyone from breaking through. However, how could that fellow pass through such tight guard just like that? His shock was not over due to the interruption of his bodyguard.
"He's heading to your room, sir."
"What?"
Not yet had time for Matthew to prepare himself, the door of his room opened until it hit the wall tightly. Azri El Pradipta stood there with a furious face.
Matthew looked at Azri in admiration. He ignored the sharp eyes of the man by leaning his back on his seat of greatness.
"That's amazing, Azri El Pradipta. You can clear my bodyguards in ten minutes. Honestly, you impressed me. Your father managed to educate you well apparently. If a man as tough as you is to lead the next Pradipta Group, I'm sure the company will succeed."
The sentence spoken in a tone full of admiration only sounded like a line of satirical dialogue in Azri's ears.
"What made you come here, son?"
Azri boldly approached Matthew's table. "You know best my purpose for coming here isn't to do business."
"How could I not know?" Matthew felt challenged by Azri's courage. There was never a young man who dared to speak to him in such a harsh tone, not least his own son, Rendra. "You came to negotiate. Right, right?"
Azri rested her palm on the end of the table. His body bent so that he could look at Matthew directly. "You broke the agreement."
For a few seconds there was silence in the room. Matthew rolled his eyes and his laughter exploded, "Get straight to the point, son?" said insinuate.
Azri straightened the body. His expression remained flat unaffected at all by Matthew's reaction.
"Isn't it already stated in the agreement that there will be no action that will harm both parties? Then why are you bringing up the debt that obviously cost our company so much?"
"Everyone knows if someone owes you, he has to pay it off."
"Why should it be now? In the debt letter listed when the repayment time is due and it is still two years from now."
"So you've seen the deal? Ah, apparently your father told me everything." Matthew nodded with satisfaction. "But I'm sure your father didn't show you this." He took the letter and showed it to Azri.
Azri read it suspiciously. His expression slowly changed as soon as he finished reading it. “Bigger!" his hisses deep. He immediately hit the table. "How can you do this to my family?!"
Matthew laughed, “Do what? Your own father agreed to it."
"That might happen because you threatened him! My father couldn't be willing to be your servant if he couldn't pay off those debts. You must have changed the terms of the agreement without my father's knowledge."
"Son." Matthew was overjoyed to see Azri frustrated. "Yet your father was desperate. He needed big funds to build his company that was almost bankrupt. Just when your mother was dying."
"What?" azri's face was pale. Matthew laughed with satisfaction.
"Now do you know why your father couldn't leave his business meeting?"
No way! Shouted Azri in heart. So is that the real reason?
"I'm sorry to see your father desperate, willing to give him an injection of funds. I gave him fifteen years to pay off that debt. But if he can't pay it off, he will have to give up all of Pradipta Group's assets and devote the rest of his life to me.“
Azri shook her head, unwilling to believe it. "What reason did you cooperate with our company is to control my father?"
Matthew laughed again. “You are smarter than your father! You can guess something a dumb guy like your dad doesn't realize. I really want to control it, I've always wanted to take your father down. And behold, the company your family has painstakingly built will be destroyed in my hands. All because of your father's stupidity. He cannot pay off his debts. That's why he wants to make you CEO. He tried to defy me. He hopes you can find a solution to get out of his problems, from his fear to being my slave. The good news is, you hate your father so much that you're against all his will. Your father decided to marry you to that girl named Widya Lovarza to deflect your thoughts from opposing her to supporting her."
This is another reason why her father wanted to be her CEO and the reason why her father asked Widya Lovarza for help! That was all done against Matthew?
"Your father had frightened me with his plans," I Matthew with a face of contempt. "Therefore I was overjoyed when my daughter was willing to help, coincidentally, we had the same grudge on you guys."
Shit, shit, shit!
Lia turned out to have full support from Matthew from the beginning. How could he think that girl forced her father? Of course, Matthew would gladly hasten the deadline at will because they knew that neither he nor his father had the strength to resist. Azri was really angry.
"Well, I told you everything. I wonder what the proud son of Mahendra El Pradipta will do."
Azri looked at Matthew with a cold expression. "I wish you never questioned it" she wrote.
Matthew blinked, his posture became more alert as he realized Azri had thought of something. he calmly lifted the letter of agreement then right before Matthew's eyes he tore it into two, four, eight, eight, until it turns into small pieces.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Matthew Fernandez, for me this agreement is nothing more than nonsense." Azri smirked in satisfaction. It takes a lot of courage to do it.
"Just like you who don't know how untarnished my family's honor is. Don't ever expect you to use my father with that deal because from now on I'm your opponent. I'm sure my father tried to pay off those debts but it's possible that you're holding him back, too. I'll do whatever it takes to prove that those debts are due to your cunning tricks." Azri bowed his head for a moment, not for respect, but to show that he officially started a war with GN Group.
"I can give you an easy solution!"
Matthew panicked and was upset. Azri's words, actions, and the way he threatened her successfully ignited the old man's fear. After seeing how easily Azri crippled dozens of her guards, then it was not difficult for the man to turn things around.
Azri stopped taking a step then turned her head, showing an expression of no interest at all.
"Marry Lia. I'll assume those debts don't exist."
"So you're getting free to enslave me? Sorry, I'm not interested."
Azri came out of the room with a raging feeling. Thanks to Matthew's explanation, now he feels very sorry why he used to hate his father. He should have been aware of the signals his father had given him. If he used to obey, it probably wouldn't be like this. Maybe Widya will not leave or maybe, she never met Widya and the woman will not suffer because of it.
After Azri's departure, Matthew falls back in his chair. His head feels heavy. He did not expect to face another monster after one monster he conquered. He takes the phone to contact his assistant when Lia's figure appears. He put the phone back on.
"What's my son?" tanyanya friendly. His beautiful daughter who reminded him of his wife walked in. His face was icy cold.he groaned inwardly. Who else is coming to destroy his day?
"Even though father almost managed to bring down Pradipta Group, Azri still refused to marry me?" sadder. His expression implied a deep wound.
Matthew widens his eyes. "You hear that?"
"Although Dad has threatened to make his family a lackey, will dismiss all employees of Pradipta Group, Azri still does not want to marry me?"
Tears flowed down her white cheeks, making her father dumbfounded. Lia looked at her father frustrated as well as sad.
"Tell me, Dad. Do I look like a horrible woman in her eyes until Azri won't even take a single glance at me? Did I really look so bad that Azri couldn't love me?"
Lia crying. Widya's words hit her heart, even more so she saw and heard for herself how Azri refused to marry her. The man hated her, hated her so much.
"Lia, don't tell me you love that guy?"
Matthew did not want to believe his own question. However, Lia's attitude told everything. "You're not in love with that guy like Yuna, are you?"
I want to deny it, really. It was with great regret that he gave an answer that left Matthew flabbergasted. "I love Azri, Dad. Just like Yuna, I foolishly fell in love with her."
His face was flooded with tears. Lia was crying. He knew his words had shocked his father. It intentionally. He knew his father would do anything to make Azri love him. Just like his father always did.

Widya saw the shocking news of the downfall of Pradipta Group with trembling hands. He was at the airport, waiting for his departure. He will leave the country. Not because of Lia's orders, but because he did not want anything to happen to Azri. However, what he saw on television right now, Lia had already broken her own promise. The bankruptcy of Pradipta Group could destroy Azri and her family slowly.
"Are you okay?" Adam touched Widya's shoulder as soon as he saw the girl massaging her temples.
"I'm fine." Widya smiled. Adam had been kind enough to drive him here, waiting for him until his plane took off. He could not make her anxious.
Adam Lewis glanced at the television displaying the hottest news anxiously. "You sure but go? I think Azri needs you right now."
Widya shakes. "can't. I promised Dad I wouldn't come back."
"God, how could you be so obedient to that man's words? He's not even your father-in-law anymore.“
"Technically, he's still my father" Widya replied weakly. "I'm not officially divorced from Azri yet."
Adam groaning. He was tired of seeing Widya suffer. He wanted to see her smile like before. He wanted to see the Widya he once loved, not Widya who sat with a lethargic face like today.
"Well, then never go back to Azri," cried Adam in despair. "When you arrive in Germany, don't even think about Azri, Pradipta Group or his family. You have to focus on your baby. I promise to accompany you when you give birth later, wherever you are."
"You're really good, Adam. Thank you very much." Widya hugged the man. He was overjoyed to have someone as a place to lean on at such a critical moment. He promised not to forget all his kindness. He smiled as his flight was called over a loudspeaker.
"The plane."
"Well, it's good-bye time." Widya got up, so did Adam. "Take care of yourself." He hugged the man.
Adam remained silent for a few seconds. He refused to let Widya go. However, he must. Widya will remain safe abroad. Lia will not be able to tease him when Widya is away from Azri. He convinced that.
Adam's hand was the last sight before Widya entered the departure terminal. He walked in, and he looked back and found that Adam was nowhere. Steps ceased. He rushed out of the departure terminal towards the opposite direction. He cancelled his plans to go to Germany. There's still something he has to do.
