What should Widya do when her time with Azri will not be long?
Mahendra never said exactly when he should leave Azri. However, he could not guess the way his father-in-law's mind was. Now he is panicked and confused. Didn't even care about Azri's gaze that had been raining down on her since.
Azri looked at Widya curious and suspicious. What makes Widya so happy? His deathly pale face did not go away even after a few days had passed since that day. Even more and more it looks chaotic. Azri did not know what the cause was. Every time he asked Widya, he always switched the conversation, just like his father did.
"You better stop working.“
Widya raised her head quickly towards Azri who was sitting opposite her. Dinner has stopped.
"Why?"
Azri gulped down a glass of water before saying, "I don't know what's weighing on you at the office, but I'm sure the Old Man has already said something to you. Things that make you so shocked, confused, and panicked."
No, Widya is unlikely to quit her job, if she stops then where does she get the money for her living?
"I can't stop, you know I really need this job," she explained in a panic, unconsciously it made Azri's forehead frown even more confused. Widya herself just realized that she had said something strange.
"Why do you need it? Aren't you married to me? I'll cover all your living expenses because it's as good as you stop working. I don't want the Old Man to make you burdened with everything about his office."
However, I can't possibly get married during his time with you! Widya wanted to shout those words to Azri and reveal everything. He could no longer stand playing hide and seek with his own feelings. However, his lips were now locked tightly and he was pinched.
"I won't stop," Widya broke, her face parched. He expects Azri's understanding.
"Why are you getting frustrated? That's obviously because of your work.“
"I'm not frustrated, it's just your feeling!"
His head started to sting. Since morning Widya can not think clearly because her brain is full of things concerning Azri, covenant, and Mahendra. All of that makes her dizzy.
"That convinced me even more that there's something you're hiding from me, tell me, The Old Man said what to you!" Azri interrogates her with an unexpected statement.
Widya jumped in shock. So this guy suspects her? Now her husband is glaring a sharp gaze.
"I'm right, aren't I?"
Azri snorted with her eyes closed. His teeth were grinding making Widya shrivel her body afraid, as well as trembling. Azri couldn't possibly know about the deal, right?
"The Old Man is like his threatening you with something."
Azri's remarks further reinforced Widya's fear. She did not realize at all the tension that was covering the entire body of the woman in front of her instead forwarded her sentence in a desperate tone, “She never changed. Yuna used to get the same thing. But this time I was surprised. To 'bout a girl he threatened you, you're obviously the girl he chose for me. So tell me the truth, what the two of you were talking about that day!!"
Widya. This time not because of Azri's sharp speech, but because of other facts that he just knew. So Yuna was threatened before her? God, why would Mahendra do that to his own son?
Azri took a deep breath then exhaled her quick, frustrated, she ruffled her own hair. "Listen, Widya," her gibberish drew Widya's attention back.
"My father is a master racketeer. I might let my mother suffer because I don't know the root of her problems at all, and neither does Yuna. I had absolutely no idea when he was threatened by that Old Man just yet. However, I don't want the same thing to happen to you."
Now the man looked at her with eyes that implied suffering. Widya menggelos, how could she possibly make Azri like this.
"I don't know what his purpose is this time. However, my father was a bad person who could do anything for the sake of his business," Azri said earnestly, while Widya was glued to her seat. "Even if you have to sell your own children."
Her final tear spilled on Widya's cheek. He could no longer hold himself back. Azri should know about that contract! he doesn't care what's going to happen. Whatever the risk he is willing to bear. Despite having to accept hatred during his from Azri, he will assume it is an appropriate reward for lying to Azri.
Azri was astonished to see the tears constantly rolling down from both of his wife's eyes.
"Your father didn't threaten me in the slightest, really." Widya sobbed, her throat choked and she was at a loss where to begin. “Everything because of my mistake, I ...."
Suddenly, Azri hit the table. "I guessed it," he snapped furiously.
Widya was aghast, her gaze clouded by tears, but she could still see the angry face of her husband. The man got up from his seat and moved away.
"Where are you going!" shouted Widya panicked. He chases Azri with tears melting along his cheeks.
Azri is deaf, without listening to Widya, he takes her jacket and car keys. Widya quickly grabbed her hand before Azri came out of the apartment.
"No, you can't go anywhere!" please Widya very much. He was desperate.he wanted to explain everything, but faltered because Azri looked at him sharply.
"I have to talk to the Old Man. What right does it have to rule my life! If he wants me to obey him, he shouldn't threaten my wife. I'm sure he's asking you to leave me if it doesn't work out to make me obey him, isn't it?"
"No, it's not like that." Widya shook her head quickly. "I beg you to be quiet and listen to what I will tell you" he pleaded.
Azri.
"I wouldn't listen if what you said was something that was within my father's control, because it was moving aside." Azri growled, he was forced to move Widya from his presence and then moved towards the door.
Widya was struck by an overwhelming fear accompanied by a pain that squeaked in her head.
"Azri, wait!" her yell.
However, it was not a loud sound that came out, but a hoarse voice that was getting smaller and the end of his throat could not emit the sound at all. His gaze suddenly darkened and he could not feel anything anymore.
