Magic Key
PART 7 - CONVERSATION UNDER THE STAIRS

"Have anyone tried to open your inner eyes before?" Ask Andi seriously. Staring at me probing.

"I mean, mas?" I don't understand.

"Yes. I've been horrified that if we're not the original indigo child, when his inner eye is opened, then he can see astral beings." Mas Andi.

"That's what? But I also never tried to open my inner eyes. I don't even understand this. I never told anyone to open my eyes either."

Andi nodded repeatedly.

Seeing Andi's response, I can tell that Andi's own mas can't help.

"I'm going in first, mas. Take a break."

"Yes, please. Good night."

"Good night."

*****

This morning I set off early, even very early.

I told my friends that I had a job to do this morning. So I should have come early. Fortunately, they believed.

In fact, I wanted to see Zaki. I'd like to ask you hundreds of questions maybe, if you can. I couldn't bear my curiosity any longer.

I walked down a hallway that was still very quiet. It is still rare to come. I was too diligent.

From a distance I was like seeing Zaki standing behind a pillar. So to make sure that it was Zaki or not, I walked closer.

Sure enough it was Zaki. He was playing his phone quite seriously.

I was silent for a while beside him, without greeting him, without a sound. Because I do not want to disturb people who are focused on playing online games.

"Good morning, Ay." I flinched because of his sudden voice.

Shouldn't I be the one who shocked her, why would I be the one who was shocked half-dead now?

I catch my breath slowly.

"Morning." My reply was a little tart.

"It turns out we are right." Said Zaki.

"What?"

"Yes. I set off early in the morning and it turns out that you also left early in the morning. Or do you miss me?"

I just rolled my eyes in response to a question and a statement from Zaki. Then I walked away from him.

"Well, want some breakfast?" Ask again, but I don't care. I keep walking.

It's not hard for Zaki to catch up with my long legs.

"I don't want breakfast at yesterday's place." Whine on Zaki.

"No. We'll have breakfast under the stairs." Zaki led my way. He actually took me down the stairs under the Mushola.

There was a table and a few chairs. Where to sell side dishes and snacks at break time. And in the morning like this the table is still unused.

I took a seat in one of the chairs, while Zaki wiped the table that was not really dirty. There is only a little dust.

"How many years have you been, anyway? Why can't you be careful?" Said Zaki who was suddenly crouching under me.

Zaki squatted for me. Apparently he tied my loose shoelace.

I blushed. My heart is pumping too fast.

I did not expect that a scene like in a Korean film that many girls like, now I am experiencing. Oh God. I'm now flying flown by her sweet demeanor.

"If the rope comes off it can be stepped on and you can fall." Zaki said again while patting his palm, as if satisfied with his work.

"I washed my hands for a minute." Pamit Zaki's.

He walked over to the sink not far from us. Feeling the need to wash my hands too, then I followed Zaki there.

"How old are you, Zak?" I asked while turning on the tap next to the tap where Zaki washes his hands.

"You're eighteen?" Ask Zaki back. I just nodded in response.

"If I'm four years above you." He answered while washing his hands.

I nodded in understanding.

"What age is so great for your friendship?" Ask Zaki who is sitting opposite me.

"Not at all. I'm just looking for the right greeting for you. Maybe the name of the brother would fit."

"Sister?" Zaki scrunched his forehead.

I'm laughing a little. "I never knew what it was like to have a sister. If you're my brother, it's probably not bad."

Zaki didn't reply. The look on his face changed. Not as relaxed as when we first met in the hallway earlier. His voice now showed a sense of dislike.

We spent a few seconds in silence. I don't know if there's anything wrong with my words, but my feeling is that I have to give in to getting her to talk first.

"Zak." Call me.

"Hm."

"Why doesn't that girl like anyone talking about me or my gosipin?" Ask me without wasting any more time.

"You mean the girl who wants to meet you?" Reply Zaki tucked in a seductive tone.

I glared and pinched her waist to make her feel pain.

After all, how quickly did his expression change? Isn't he still not talking? Why are you teasing me now?

"It hurts sick, Ay, geez."

"Don't joke, I'm serious!" I said pissed.

"Yes-yes seriously. Take it off first."

I pulled my hand fast.

"You mean the girl with good intentions as you?"

"Yes, the girl who smiled at me."

"He's smiling at you?" Zaki scrunched his forehead again.

"I don't know exactly either. But he said he wanted to be friends with you." Zaki said seriously.

At first it was serious, even making my hair stand up. But then Zaki laughed. Damnit damnit! He managed to tease me again.

I pinched Zaki's stomach again. This time it was louder.

"Ah, ouch ouch, sick pain, Ay. Leasin." Whine Zaki.

"Bodo very! Who told you to joke about this."

"Seriously dong, Zaaakkk."

"Yes yes, this is serious. Take it off first."

I pulled my hand back.

"She said she didn't like them. Especially when they say you're not." Clearly Zaki.

"So really can she talk? Does that mean he really talks to you? What reason?"

"It's more or less that." Said Zaki.

"If that's the case, ask him directly."

I pinched Zaki's stomach again, but now it's just a little.

"Tell me seriously too!"

"Yes I'm serious too, Ay. I've been wrong to notice."

I giggle. I don't know why I feel so anxious about Zaki grumbling. Though usually his carrier is always calm and firm.

"Yes, I'm sorry." I finally said.

"Drink." Zaki thrust out the bottle that I used yesterday as well. It is still the same as yesterday. Warm brown.

"You are."

"It's plenty. I'm not going to run out. We both drink."

I cradled Zaki's words. How do I split it in two? My drinking bottle was full of water. Will he share a bottle with me?

"Why the hell? I'm not sick, drinking a bottle together is not papa, right?" Said Zaki looking at me who was still silent.

I looked at Zaki in disbelief.

"I'm not papa. You're afraid you're the one who's okay."

Zaki shakes. "It's a drink first."

"Yes. Thanks." Thanks."

While I was drinking her warm chocolate, Zaki ate the sandwich she brought from home.

"I was lazy to eat breakfast at the factory. But after you I'm just mending breakfast here, same you." Knock Zaki while chewing.

"Oh." Kaku.

Honestly, I've judged Zaki a good boy. He's considerate and understanding. He could always read my mind. He was always warm.

His face is thin, his hairstyle does tend to be messy, but looks charming. Legit hair color. His blue-eye. Her thin cheek plus one dimple on her right cheek, made her sweet when smiling.

It turned out that I had unconsciously adored him. Worship a man who is adored by many girls here.

But what they never knew from Zaki was probably the side when Zaki whined. Or when Zaki who put on an upset face. That's what makes Zaki look like a human. Have expression. It is not always as flat as when in the production room.

And I bet that expression he never showed in the production room.

I tried to get rid of the daydreams, and opened the plastic wrapping the bread I bought at the minimarket near the factory.

"Did you eat breakfast like this every day?" Zaki asked pointing at the bread I was holding.

"No. Sometimes rice too. But this morning we have breakfast with bread."

Zaki grabbed my bread slowly, and replaced it with his sandwich.

"You eat this. We're tukeran." Said Zaki who had bitten my bread.

"Why?"

"No why. I've eaten that bread, another taste."

Again I shook my head for the weirdness of Zaki's behavior.

Yes already. Than I don't fill my stomach. I'd rather eat the bread that Zaki gave me. The bread I bought was almost eaten by him.

"Tomorrow, don't buy breakfast, Ay."

"Why? I also have breakfast."

"I just told you not to buy breakfast. Not telling you not to eat."

"If you don't buy what can I eat?"

"Let's bring breakfast for both of us." Zaki said after drinking the chocolate. Then give it to me.

I chuckle. "Why should I eat from you?" I drank the chocolate too.

"Because brother and sister have to get along. Must eat the same food lest it be spoiled." Zaki sarkas.

Hearing that, I felt that Zaki was upset. His tone pierced. I don't know exactly what's wrong, but I feel Zaki may be angry, upset, or even disappointed. But I dare not ask him questions.

Zaki cleared the box.

"What do you like to eat?"

"I'm not picky, Zak."

"So whatever I bring you promised you'd eat?" Zaki folded his hands on the table. His eyes looked at me, intimidating me. Awaiting my answer.

"Yes." Yeah." I said finally after a moment of confusion had to answer 'yes' or 'no'.
