"He's not there, Ay."
I'm limp. My grip on the doorknob loosened and I finally landed myself on the wall, trying to find a crutch.
Zian grabbed my hand, helping me not to collapse.
"What does he mean, Zi? Where's zaki?" I asked very slowly. My energy disappeared instantly.
"He's..."
"What Zi, what? Tell me, tell me everything, Zi." I shook Zian's shoulder.
"Three days ago she said she wanted to sleep in Mama's room, but until now she.."
"Surely speaking, Zian!" I'm so impatient.
"He hasn't woken up since that night, Ayri." Suddenly Zian placed his forehead on my shoulder, before long something warm flowed down my shoulder. She cried.
Three days not waking up, it's the same as me. But now that I'm back, what about Zaki? Is he really..... I can't even imagine, let alone say it.
I just let Zian vent his sadness, honestly I'm glad I can be the shoulder that Zian uses as a backrest right now.
"The doctor said his heart stopped working, but I couldn't believe it. Her body isn't as cold as a corpse, I'm sure she's not dead, you agree with me, don't you, Ay?"
I grabbed Zian's shoulder. I know myself to be very unsettled, but right now I need to make Zian calm down a bit and stop crying.
"Does that mean Zaki's still here? Is it in this house? Or is he in the hospital?" Tanyaku.
Zian shakes. "The hospital has sentenced him to death, they don't accept him anymore. I had to take Zaki home but..." Zian hung up his sentence.
"Do you think I'm evil, Ay? Do you think I'm being selfish because I'm keeping the body here? Do you think Zaki will be tormented by my treatment, Ay?"
I'm shaking. I don't know what to answer right now because I don't know exactly how things are going.
"I've been with him since I was in the womb, I know exactly how he is. And I'm sure he's alive, Ay. Please help me wake up Zaki, Ayri."
"Because you're talking like this, I'm more and more sure Zaki won't do anything. Isn't Zaki always optimistic?"
Zian looked at me with his red eyes. His gaze was so sweet, I felt even more sad to see him.
"Take me to Zaki's, Zi."
*****
Zian opened the door of the room he said was his mother's room. Then he let me in first, Zian closed the door again before catching up with me.
I was immediately presented with Zaki lying down. Her face was pale with white lips. I pulled out a chair and brought it closer to the bed for me to sit on, then I grabbed Zaki's hand.
True said Zian, Zaki's body temperature is still fairly warm even though his breath is not detected. I can't check my pulse, but I'm sure Zaki's still holding on. Whether it was to fulfill my request or indeed he himself was fighting for his life.
*I'm sorry I came home first, Zak. I regret that I am weak, I can do nothing for you.
Zak, you must be awake, right? I'm here, Zak. I came to see you. Get up, Zak. You definitely don't want to make Zian sad, do you*?
"There's something I want to know, Ay." Said Zian suddenly.
I looked up, it turned out that Zian was looking at me with pain.
"I know you came here so early this must be because of something, right?"
Is correct. Zian's guess didn't miss. But I can't tell you the truth.
"I don't know anything about supernatural beings, but does Zaki's situation have anything to do with them? Can Zaki still be saved, Ay?"
Glup!
"Whatever the way, how hard the effort I can do, I'll still make Zaki wake up, Ay. Tell me is there anything you know?" Zian's gaze was intimidating. That look couldn't make me refuse.
"I'm..."
"What, Ayri? Say it!" Zian said in a demanding tone.
"Actually I also just woke up after fainting for three days, Zi." I said I can no longer cover up.Let Zian however need to know the condition of his twin brother. I can't hide it from Zian.
"You guys... Why can you_"
"Yes this has something to do with things you can't understand, Zi."
Zian rounded his eyes, as if he could not believe what I had just talked about.
"What the hell are you guys.." Zian is so excited. I don't have the heart to explain further, but this is already done. And I really have to say it.
"I don't know how I got there either. Suddenly I was in the wilderness, there was no one there, not even a beast. I thought I was just plain lost, but it turned out to be completely unusual. I'm lost in the supernatural forest." I started to explain what I was going through.
"Is Zaki there too?"
I'm shaking. "I also didn't know that Zaki would be there. I don't know when Zaki will be coming. All I know is that I'm alone. While I was walking through the forest, I didn't see Zaki there at all. All I've encountered are creatures that have been bothering me lately, as well as other astral beings that I've never seen before."
"Until I was finally led into a cave, there I just met Zaki. That Zaki is in danger."
"Ba-danger?"
"Before the giant gorilla often disturbed my night until I could not sleep. I'm going to tell Zaki but Zaki said he doesn't know about the giant gorilla."
Zian no longer interrupted my conversation. Maybe he was too shocked to hear my story. Or maybe he was busy regulating his breathing to believe it or not with what I said. After that Zian just kept quiet as a listener.
"Either because of what but in the cave the gorilla was carrying Zaki like he was carrying a sack of rice. That's where we both know each other's whereabouts."
"The gorilla hit Zaki against the wall several times. Instead of trying to break free Zaki told me to run away."
"Really, I really wanted to help Zaki, but Zaki insisted on me running. Finally I could only run as far as possible, but I lost. I can't go anywhere else once I get to the edge of the abyss."
"At the end of our breakup, the gorilla seemed to deliberately make Zaki chat with me. Zaki kept telling me to save myself no matter what. But I also forced him to endure. Even if I had negotiated with the giant to change our position, I wanted to free Zaki by posing myself as a hostage, but the giant could not be spoken to. Then Zaki... Zaki's..."
"What, Ay? Zaki why? Then Zaki what?" Zian panicked again.
"The giant threw Zaki into the abyss and then I woke up."
"When I woke up I was in the hospital. My friends said I suddenly fainted and I didn't wake up for three days. After I woke up I came straight from the hospital because I was worried about Zaki."
"Zaki's thrown into the abyss? Does that mean Zaki can't be saved, Ay?" Ask Zian raucous. I'm sure she's holding back her tears.
Honestly, I felt more and more down on hearing Zian's words that sounded desperate. I'm just as desperate as Zian. But I tried to fight that despair.
"Not just anyone, Zi! I'm sure Zaki will keep his promise. I said I'd keep looking for him even in the next life and Zaki said I'd find him. That means Zaki will wake up as soon as I find him here, doesn't it, Zi?"
Zian moved his head agitated, I knew he was hesitant, just like my doubts. Doubtful about what I said myself. But I can't give up. I have to stay optimistic. How will Zaki come back if the people around him give up?
I saw Zian wiping his tears. It doesn't matter a man cries, not because he's weak, but he's showing his human side. He cried it means he still has a heart, not like a robot that has no feelings.
Then Zian stood up. "I'll take a drink for a second."
"Yes." Yeah." Short reply.
Zian closed the door slowly, as if unwilling to disturb Zaki's very quiet sleep.
"I'm pretty sure you'll wake up, Zak. Not long after you'll wake up to keep your promise, won't you, Zak?"
