LIKE I CAN'T SEE

LIKE I CAN'T SEE
BAG 5 WITHIN TWO DAYS

"Hey, it's lucky that you Jessy can come in your car" shouted one of Bagas' close friends.

With his arrogance, Bagas raised the collar of his uniform. "Who used to dong, Bagas" he said.

This was heard by Jovan who walked into the classroom. Bagas and his friends are still talking about Jessy.

"O yeah, how's the story he got one car with you?", asked another friend curiously.

Jessy was the most popular kid in elementary school. Although only in fifth grade but his achievements in the Olympic event made himself known to many other students. Plus the children of rich people who are a lot of targets.

"Didn't you know? He is my neighbor. And my papa's business partner. Hows it? We fit right?", replied Bagas with his song.

Makes Jovan's guts shrink for a moment. It is suitable indeed if paired with Bagas who has a handsome face and also from the family of people are. Why did Jessy choose her to be her best friend?

The question arises from within him. Although he already knew from Jessy at the beginning of his introduction. If you choose Jovan because you want to be sincere friends with him. But Jovan was still doubtful.

The bell went in. Early signs of the lesson will begin soon. The children who had been in a group talked about things that they thought were fun to immediately disperse and return to their seats.

"Jovan, help me pick up the book at the office" said Ana, my homeroom teacher.

I immediately followed Ana to go pick up the book at the office. When passing through the administrative room suddenly the administrative officer called me to enter his room.

I asked Ana for permission. Ms. Ana then allowed it and she called another student to help bring the book.

"Jovan, another week the exams will start. You haven't paid off your arrears yet. I gave you two days to pay it off in order to take the exam" the administration official said.

I can only resign and agree to pay off arrears at the latest according to the limits set. That's within two days.

I didn't realize Jessy was in that room either. Then he chased me when I got out of the room. "Sister, meet me at a normal place to rest later" he said, then ran to his class when I had no time to answer.

I was just thinking did Jessy hear our conversation? What if he knows my problem?

Ah already. It's not true after all. I waited for months. Convincing. That Jessy wouldn't stay away from me because of that, would she? Just like my friends who always scorned me.

I went back to my class to take a lesson from Ana. I enthusiastically took lessons that I usually don't like. All this I did so I could take the exam later.

All students want to graduate, right? And maybe I'm one of them. Mom would be proud if I graduated with good results.

Even though I can't continue to junior high school at least I won't embarrass my mother because of my grades. Because my current goal is just to make my mom happy.

The break bell rings. I'll see Jessy at the usual place. Although I don't know if Jessy asked me to meet her there. But I won't let him down and wait long.

"Hai Brother. Sit down", Jessy patted the floor next to her.

"Is the clock in your class empty? Why is it so fast to get here?", I asked while positioning to sit down.

"No Brother. It's just I'm afraid of being caught by my friend".

"Surely you're so embarrassed to be friends with me if your friends know?", I can only guess before I know the more bitter reality. And it's become common if my guess is correct.

"No. I was just afraid that they would act evilly to Big Brother", Jessy replied which shocked me. This time I guessed wrong. And the answer is surprising. Apparently he's worried about me. With a little guy like me.

"Sorry to have been before. I heard Brother's talk in the administration room. Can I help Brother?".

"Don't Jessy. It's just a matter of money. I'll be more active in working these two days".

"So all this time you've been working? Then where are Brother's parents?", Jessy asked me a question.

"Sorry Brother, if my question is disrespectful. I just want to know I didn't mean anything. I'm just shocked. A child our age should not be able to work".

"It's okay. I only have a mother. My father died a long time ago. Only my mother slammed a bone for living expenses. That's why I helped my mom work".

"What kind of work?".

"I just went looking for a tutut in the neighboring paddy field".

"Sorry sister, then what do you work for?", asked Jessy increasingly curious about my life.

"My mom is just a construction worker".

Jessy lowered her head. Maybe he felt shocked or sorry for me and my mother. "Allow me to pay off your tuition, brother. Brother, let's take the exam".

"No Jessy. I just got to know you. I don't want to take advantage of your kindness", Jovan refused.

"Then can I play at Brother's house?".

"Could only. But I'm sorry my house is just a hut on the edge of the river. And our neighborhood is very shabby".

"It's okay, brother. Then I'll go home from school with you".

"But what about Bagas?", I asked to suddenly remember this morning Jessy one car with Bagas.

"Ah yes. Brother friend Bagas Yes. He's just my neighbor. I'm not going home with him later anyway".

"Are you sure you want to come home with me?", I made sure.

"Yakin Brother. I'm even happy to be allowed to go to Brother's house" Jessy said innocently.

We talked for a long time behind the library. Until the doorbell of the class made us realize to immediately return to class to follow the lesson.

The class was still boisterous when I got back. No teacher has come to class. So the students are still busy talking here.

"Hei tengil! Where'd you come from? I noticed you're out of class a lot now, huh? Do you have any friends now?", asked one of his friends.

"Where could he have a friend. At best from the toilet or read books in the library", said Bagas.

"Haahahhahaha", the other children said with a laugh. Bagas' taunts for me seemed to keep them all entertained.

I just kept quiet as usual. Ignore their taunts. It would be useless to respond to them. One to one class won't fight.

Until the class starts to calm down when the teacher of religious education enters the classroom and starts the lesson. Today is a rote test. And the student who was appointed to advance first was me. With confidence I went to the front of the class. Because my mother always taught me to read it after every prayer. So I won't have any trouble in this test.
