Meda stood still on the spot for a few minutes, but the contents of her head could not calm down. His mind was stirred by anger. However, there was something from within him that prevented his feet from stepping anywhere. He had no power to walk forward and disturb the scene that had torn his soul apart, but he would not turn away as if he had never seen the betrayal before him.
Yes, treason. Meda did not know what other terms would be better to describe the moment that was happening in front of her own eyes. Her lover, Tian, seemed to be hugging Afgar, the young man she called a friend. In fact, Meda has very clearly expressed her dislike for the physical contact between the two. What else is it called if not treason?
Even the reaction that Tian showed when Meda called his name was to let go of his embrace and move away from Afgar immediately. The response confirmed that the girl was well aware that her actions were wrong. There's no room for justification for his actions, is there?
“Meda?” shrieked Tian's voice as he turned to call out his name.
Meda was still standing in her place. Not at all intending to get closer or away. Only his gaze took turns directed at the two figures before him, as if asking for the best explanation they could give him before he let out all his anger. However, other than that one word, no more words came out through Tian's lips.
“I'm here because Mom said you came home to look for me, but it looks like I'm not needed.” Meda said loud enough to be heard by the two figures standing about two meters in front of her.
Meda looked at her face one last time before turning away.
On the other hand, Tian, looked at Afgar with a worried look until the young man nodded his head. Think of the more or less purpose as a signal that he is ready to be left alone. Therefore, Tian immediately followed Meda who is now walking on the streets of his residential complex connected to the highway.
When Tian's eyes finally found Meda's figure, he began to run to follow her lover's steps.
Tian caught Meda's arm and jerked the young man's arm with enough force to make him stop.
“You can't go so far without knowing what really happened earlier.” Tian said quickly in between his gasping breath because he had run.
Meda did stop, but not to listen to Tian's explanation. He stopped because several pairs of eyes owned by visitors of coffee shop— where they stopped—the average man was now observing himself and also Tian. Meda was quite certain that their attention was diverted from whatever activity they had previously done at their respective desks was not due to the running action done by Tian, who was not, but Tian's appearance with a bright yellow crossover dress that is very stealing attention on the streets of residential complexes that are usually quiet pedestrians at night.
When finally, his ears caught a whistling from the direction of the coffee shop, then Meda turned to grab Tian's arm and pulled the girl away. Meda did not let go of her hand until her steps came to a halt in a small park in the elite residential neighborhood. The young man sat on one of the park benches while setting his gaze on a nearby light pole.
Tian—yang's hand hung on his side after the young man let go of his grip—feeled cold. The girl put her hands together as if she was looking for a similar warmth, but gave up quickly as her heart whispered the word “mustahil”. There is no warmth in solitude.
Finally, Tian ventured back to grab Meda's hand while sitting next to her.
“Med, let's talk,” pinta Tian while squeezing Meda's finger. However, Meda flinched. The young man did not even return his touch at all.
“Med, you must have thought nothing of me and Afgar. Yes, right?” Tian tried again.
Meda let out a snort of her laughter, but still no words came out of her lips.
“Safira mutusin her engagement relationship with Afgar.”
This time Meda looked at Tian's face. His feelings were mixed between surprise and anger.
“Afgar again, Med. It's natural that—”
“Korazar? If I disconnect you, you will run to the man only to tell him that you were decided without first trying to persuade me to maintain our relationship?” meda Tukas.
“Med! Please don't put our relationship in the same situation!” snapped Tian annoyed.
“You! You are the one who takes our relationship in that direction by constantly trying to cover up the man's cunning with your mindset that puts him as a friend. Then let him act at will in the territory that should only be for me and you!” Meda shouted back.
Fortunately, the location of the park was far from the complex of house buildings in the Tian residential neighborhood, so the considerable dispute between the two lovebirds did not wake anyone.
“You always have bad thoughts with Afgar since the incident at the playground, ‘kan? No matter how hard I try to prove that we do not have romantic feelings for each other, you will only look for faults in our relationship, ‘kan?” Tian started to shed his tears.
“Our relationship”, yes? Meda smiled wryly.
It sounds maybe trivial. However, to Meda who could be considered a stranger between the two, Tian's remark was like an affirmation that as a new person, the, Meda is what actually disturbs the relationship between Tian and Afgar that has been predestined.
“So, you came here just to force me to understand ‘your relationship’, ‘kan? Not to talk about the relationship between you, Titiana and me, Andromeda?” Meda got up from her sitting position. “Ya. Please return to Afgar. Do your best to make him understand that your relationship is more important than your relationship with people who have not even been this year you met.”
Meda stepped away.
“Meda! Please, don't be childish like this. You have to understand. You have to look from the viewpoint of Afgar who needs to be listened to and calmed in times like this.” Tian again grabbed Meda's arm, but the young man brushed off his touch violently. Tian was frightened when the jolt of Meda's arm almost made him fall backward.
“Medic. You don't solve any problems by behaving like that,” Tian said as he tried to match Meda's steps walking away without trying to wait for Tian at all.
“Meda! What do you want anyway?”
Meda.
“Meda! You know if all you want is for me to get away from Afgar, it's not going to be possible. He's my best friend. Why don't you try to be good friends with Afgar instead of banning me from being close to him?”
Tian, who was still wearing high heels for trying to dress up optimally before leaving for Meda's house earlier, began to lag even further. His ankle that had sprained when in a hurry to pursue the departure of Meda from his yard earlier was even more painful.
“Meda!” Tian shouted even louder. Hoping for his frustration to reach Meda and make her listen to Tian. Because his feet were no longer able to take him after the young man's steps again. “If you leave now ... we are done.”
Meda stopped her steps and turned around only to say something that made Tian hope that God would wipe this day from the memory of any human being on earth.
“Do as you please, Tian. Your own point of view is the most important. Tonight, you've clearly shown me what your priorities are. I'm the only one who may not know myself enough and ask too much.”
