Afgar's birthday party ended at exactly twelve. The security forces hired to organize the event the second son of the Linus family that night did get an order to keep the event running tight, including in executing the schedule of changes and the completion of the event. Within minutes of the party being declared over, all invited guests left the front yard of the Afgar house and rows of luxury cars came out one by one from the vacant land on the right side of the building. Meda along with Tian was in one of the cars that drove away.
During the party, the two spend most of their time talking to Hera and Alvin. All at Hera's request. The girl felt that the conversation with Meda made Alvin look normal. Hera suspected Alvin to behave like that because Meda did not show any curiosity about the problems of life or family conflicts that are being experienced by Alvin. Alvin may feel comfortable being around people who can make him stop remembering about his problems like Meda.
For this reason, Hera intends to make Alvin and Meda meet regularly outside their group meetings. However, Tian did not immediately agree to Hera's last request. He did not dare to make a decision without direct approval from Meda. Therefore, he promised to discuss it with Meda first. However, just as Tian finally got the chance to open a conversation with Meda, the young man before him spoke.
“Tian.” As soon as Meda called him. His tone is serious.
“Ya?” tian replied while frowning.
Tian had been looking at his girlfriend's face for a long time since he decided to bring up the topic of Alvin. Hence, he could see the change in expression that adorned the young man's face from flat to serious. When putting on a serious face, Meda's lips will tighten tightly and her eyes narrow slightly.
“You can not, a little keep your distance with Afgar?” tanya Meda made the frown on Tian's forehead deepen.
“What's up, Med? What's the problem with Afgar?”
“I don't like to see him holding you carelessly like before. Especially in front of me.” Meda's jaw hardened as she said that.
“Hold-hold, Med?” Tian chuckled slightly before leaning his body towards Meda.
“Like this?” tanya Tian while touching the tip of Meda's lips with her thumb. Exactly as Afgar had done to him at the previous party.
Getting such treatment, Meda pointed her driver to the side of the road sharply. Of course, after taking the time to check if there is a vehicle right behind his car.
“Meda!” reprimand Tian as Meda parked her car on the edge of a deserted road.
The girl was quite shaken because Meda almost made her side slam on the inside of the passenger door as the young man changed course abruptly. However, Tian had not been able to continue his reprimand, Meda's lips that landed on his lips made him undo the intention. Tian's eyes widened and his breath choked in his throat found the Meda treatment. For a few seconds, his head felt empty. Even as Meda moved away from him, she still could not say anything.
“Should only I have the right to do that to you. Touching you, kissing you. That's all my right. I've been holding back because I feel it's too early for us to do all that. However, he easily touched you when I had never even done anything more than hold your hand. He did all that in front of me, but look at your reaction. That easy as you underestimate a warning from me?!” Meda's rage broke the silence between the two.
Tian himself was still busy calming the pounding in his heart. The girl's face was red. However, it was not because of Meda's kiss that her heart was beating twice as fast as it normally would, but rather because she felt her mind was working on the wrong focus. When Meda was talking about something serious, her brain was constantly repeating the moments of the kiss in her head.
Finally, a few seconds later after he managed to control his mind back, the girl made a sound.
“I don't understand why you use the term ‘hold-hold’ to refer to the actions that Afgar did to me. Those words seemed to put Afgar in the position of a man who liked to steal the opportunity to make physical contact to me."
“Indeed the reality is like that,” Meda said making Tian look at him in disbelief.
“Afgar is my best friend, Meda.”
“Yes and no. Yeah, because Afgar and I were close enough to occasionally make physical contact. No, if you mean ‘touch’ it is beyond the limits of fairness. But from the way you're angry, it seems you judge what Afgar did to me beyond the limits of reasonableness between friends. Actually, what else makes you again make Afgar as a barrier stone in our relationship?” tanya Tian was firm.
“He blatantly hints at all that.”
“Hint?” Tian was getting confused.
Meda finally recounted the contents of her conversation with Afgar as Tian left the two at the party earlier. The atmosphere in the car was quiet again when Meda finished repeating her conversation with Afgar. After a while, Tian finally let out a long sigh.
“Medic. I'm sure Afgar didn't mean anything when he said that. He just wants to protect me.”
Meda's eyes narrowed again. “Protect you from what? Do I look dangerous in your eyes?”
“Not so–”
“Explain to me why do you think Afgar's actions to protect you from me are not wrong?” cut Meda fast.
Tian opened his mouth. Indeed, there are many things he wants to say, but he cannot decide the best way of delivery that if it can correct the misunderstanding between the two closest people without giving the impression of being impartial.
“OK, Meda. I know all this happened because you just got to know Afgar. Hence, you misunderstood–”
“Mistake?” Again Meda cut Tian's speech. “The only one who misunderstood here was you, Tian. You don't see what I see. Ah, or maybe you just pretend you don't know because you think by acting like there's nothing then everything will be completely fine?”
“What do you see, but I don't see?” Tian began to lose patience with Meda who constantly cornered him.
“I saw a man's gaze upon a woman in Afgar's eyes as he looked at you. Let me be clear once more so that there is no other meaning you are trying to grasp from my words." Meda's fist clenched before continuing her speech. “She wants to have you.”
“Afgar likes me? That's what you want to say?” ask Tian.
Meda simply stared into Tian's eyes in response to the question, as if trying to guess what the girl was going to say next.
“Maybe what you meant earlier was to imagine. Not see. Because right now, you are clearly imagining something that I never even imagined,” Tian said.
“You won't understand because you didn't really see the way he looked at you, Tian.”
This time, Meda's tone of voice weakened. Small bickering on the same topic over and over again made Meda feel her relationship with Tian as if walking on the spot. And what was even more frustrating was that he could not make Tian see that the meaning behind all of these actions was only aimed at saving the relationship of the two. The girl still doubted all Meda's statements about Afgar's feelings for her.
There was nothing more that Meda could do when that last thought flashed through her head. Therefore, he ended the endless debate and drove his car back. Ignoring Tian who had asked him several times to continue their conversation was complete.
