The Things He's Fighting for

Based on research, falling in love makes a woman believe that she looks more beautiful.

At first, Tian was always skeptical of that one premise. In the past, he did not understand the process of the mechanism of an internal human feeling can affect its external appearance. However, ever since meeting Meda, Tian had been able to understand her.

Before meeting and establishing a relationship with Meda, Tian never once felt her appearance was attractive, let alone beautiful. No matter how often everyone closest to him praised his physique, Tian never believed. In her eyes, that beauty was like Hera inheriting Chinese blood from her father and Sapphira who had a sultry face. Bella, her mother, let alone. Of course, the stuff is beautiful. However, Tian did not feel like he had inherited the mother's physical beauty.

The mother was white, sharp-eyed, perfectly oval-faced, and had a tall and slender body, while the figure that Tian looked at every mirror was a girl with a fat body–people called her crazy because they might be reluctant to pin the negative label in front of her a round face with chubby cheeks, and round eyes. The only thing Tian appreciates positively about is her perfectly curved eyebrows and full lips, as well as the rabbit teeth she admits do make her look a little adorable–but not pretty.

However, everything changed after he met Meda. Especially after the young man confessed his feelings to Tian. From then on, something rose from Tian. A sense of confidence that he never had slowly grew along with everything that Meda did for him. Because of Meda, Tian feels himself loved, valued, and wanted.

Moreover, since dating Meda, Tian was also motivated to pay attention to her appearance. She learned how to dress covered, but still be able to look alluring from her mother; learned how to apply makeup that was attractive, but still natural, to accentuate the features on her face that she wanted to highlight; also learn practical tips to make Meda always want to keep meeting Tian.

The latter is still a little difficult to practice by Tian because the advice from Hera involves some physical contact that is still awkward to do because the age of the relationship is still short. He even doubted that Meda would make physical contact other than clutching his hand –which honestly still made Tian flutter no matter how often Meda did it. The young man was too polite. The thing that actually made Tian even more amazed, actually.

Like this time, when Tian and Meda were alone in his library. It was the second time that the young man had been in the empty Tian house because almost all of its residents were on the move outside the house. Adler works and Bella invites Marcela to take Lidia and Joan to their respective schools, before leaving for the show of the wives of employees who work in Adler's company by being escorted by Diro.

Adler's family did not hire a maid to clean his house. Every morning after dawn, Adler and his family members intervened to keep their homes clean. Adler helps Bella clean the first floor of her house, while Bella and her sisters clean the second floor. Even Marcela who is only about two years old, join “help”.

Adler does not have enough money to pay another domestic worker at his home, because even though he “depak” by his extended family, he, he has his own company that is growing rapidly with a profit that is not small every month. Adler did all that to teach his four daughters to get used to simple life early on.

Learning from the bad treatment of his extended family to people who are considered not as level, he wants to educate his small family so as not to be a figure who underestimate the small work done by others, he said, people are not as lucky as they are, because sometimes money is not comparable to measure the hard work done by these people. Luckily his wife and daughters were very supportive of Adler's intentions.

Adler was not at all unwilling to hire domestic workers for his family. Only, he limited it. For example, when there are family members who are sick, such as when Tian had to wear a cast on his right hand until a few days ago, or when he and Bella had to leave Indonesia for work. Incidentally, the final agenda will take place next week. Both– three, if count Marcela– will fly to Sweden to handle other landscape projects.

Tian himself, who suddenly recalled that as he and Meda were immersed in their respective readings, opened up a conversation to tell Meda. The girl was so happy to share the slightest story with Meda, even though her lover almost never did the opposite.

“Papa Sama want to go to Sweden next week, work affairs.” So Tian told me.

Meda immediately flipped her book with an open position on the table surface so that she did not lose the page she had read before.

“How long, Da?” ask Meda who now turned her attention to Tian.

From the word Mada. That's how Meda occasionally calls her lover now. Tian's full name was Titiana Hamada and it was from there that Meda took the nickname. The young man was so interested when he found out that his name was similar to Tian's last name that he used it to greet Tian. The idea is that the affectionate nickname given by the lover's partner– could have been very liked by Tian, if not because the name was more like a male name than a female.

Meda's eyes widened. “For that?”

Tian nodded.

“Then who takes care of whose company?”

“In the company there is a position of Managing Director. So, Papa can delegate his duties to his old Papa time abroad. His name...,” Tian is moving his head while trying to lure a name out of his memory, “Om Arya.”

“People can be trusted ‘kan, Ti?” ask Meda again.

Tian scrunched his forehead. “Sure. He's Papa's best friend. Who accompanies Papa when he will pioneer a new company huh Om Arya's.”

To be honest, he was a little annoyed by the tone of Meda's questions that seemed to doubt the loyalty of his father's best friend, even indirectly also doubted the way his father managed the business. Meda herself was aware of Tian's feelings. Therefore, he got up from his chair and walked towards Tian who was sitting at the other end of the table.

Holding Tian's hand, Meda said, “I don't mean to offend you, Ti. I just don't want you to experience what my father went through, which his own brother used while managing the family business. In the end, when the family company was closed due to bankruptcy, Dad lost all the inheritance that used to be in the form of shares. When I grew up, I intended to investigate the company's financial statements because I thought Dad didn't understand the practice of stock games. If there is a possibility of fraud, I will file the data I obtained as evidence to make a report to the court. However, Dad stopped me and told me that you didn't need money from a family that had thrown it away just because you didn't want to manage the family business. At that time, I knew that Dad always realized that he was being deceived by his brothers. Dad did say no care, but I know Dad's heart is very hurt.”

Meda's grip slipped and her eyes glazed over as she said all that. Tian rubbed the young man's hand gently to try to comfort the young man.

“Therefore you want to be successful, right? To prove to your father's extended family that your father could raise a proud son. Right, right?”

Meda nodded.

“In my opinion, you have succeeded, Med. Your parents must also be proud to have a smart, filial, and independent child like you,” Tian said again.

This time Meda nodded. “Numbered, Tian. It's not enough.”

“What are your plans for the future Meda?” tanya Tian was a little anxious when she saw the radiance in Meda's eyes, but Meda did not respond to her question.

Tian could not read Meda's feelings from that expression, but his premonition said something was not good at seeing Meda's determination. However, Tian decided not to force the young man to answer further because he was sure that the Meda he knew would not hurt others intentionally even though the fuel for his will to succeed was a feeling anger and revenge.
