Safira nudged Tian's arm for the umpteenth time. Tian frowned in annoyance before finally giving up and obeyed Sapphira's demands, which he voiced through a continuous cue on the right side of his body.
"Hi." The voice of Tian greeted the figure of the young man sitting before him. The young man was busy paying attention to the street traffic that was still empty because the time still showed less at 4 am.
The young man nodded his head at a glance to return the greeting, then resumed his activities as if what Tian had just done was bothering him.
"OKAY. I'm sorry to bother you, but trust me, I just want us to meet for a second. At least know our names. After that, you are free to move on with your life and assume I do not exist. Deal?" cerocos Tian long. Tian was indeed not a figure that could be said to be patient, obviously he would not just be silent to see other people acting as he pleased with him when he did not even know Tian well.
Safira covered her wide-open mouth with both hands so much that she did not expect that Tian would immediately take such an extreme stance. He was grateful that Afgar was not in the same car— because the Alpha Hybrid he rented was only able to accommodate three people, so Afgar had to bring a car with his own personal driver to pick up Alvin and Hera. If Afgar saw all this, it would not be Tian who would speak like that, but Afgar's fist. Sapphira knew very well how overprotective her lover was to the friend whom she had considered like her sister.
"Fine! I'm Meda. I already know your name. No need to interrupt my time any longer. Our conversation is over here." The young man really did not give Tian a chance to reply to his words because in the next second he had already asked the driver to stop his car.
The front seat that had been directed to the rear cabin was now changed back to its original position. The young man sat beside the driver who could only glance at the wrong behavior through his middle rearview towards the girls sitting in the back row. The awkward atmosphere only melted when the group reached the airport.
"This is the one who made me late to pick you up." Afgar opened the back door of their rented car while glancing at Safira.
"Definitely dance again." Hera, who opened the passenger door, looked at Safira with a look of blame.
"Maclumin dong, Ra. I don't want to lose to fabulous compared to you or Tian." Safira replied to the centil while preceding Tian down from the car.
"Me?" Tian pointed at himself in confusion. It was new to him. Because in his eyes, the two female companions clearly had a much more charming appearance than him.
"You're the only one who doesn't realize that you're actually gifted." Hera followed along adding a frown on Tian's forehead.
"Where?" Tian muttered softly.
Now, he had completely forgotten about the incident on the way to the airport earlier.
"Everybody had breakfast, right?"
Almost all the heads in the entourage nodded in response to Afgar's question, except for Meda and Tian. Afgar frowned before checking the time on the watch on his left hand.
"Five minutes to go boarding. Later eat on the plane alone," break up Afgar finally.
"Vin, can you, right?" Afgar turned to look at Alvin who was busy tidying the scarf that was coiled around Hera's neck.
"Silent. First class and all reserved!" exciting Alvin proud.
Right after the six young men set foot in the cabin of the plane, Safira held Tian's wrist and pulled him slightly away from the entourage. Afgar glanced suspiciously, but soon resumed his steps when Sapphira signaled that all was well. However, as soon as Afgar was lost behind the crowd of passengers still clustered in the cabin, Safira cupped both hands in front of his face.
"Sorry, Ti. I didn't think that Meda would act like that to you. He doesn't like a lot of talk, but he's usually not that cranky."
"That's it. No need to feel bad about me. The way he behaves is his own choice. You don't have a hand in any of that." Tian smiled understand.
"I obviously have a hand, Ti. I invited him to join our entourage" said Safira.
"Yes, but that's it."
"And .. I'm also the one who made you sit next to Meda during this flight."
Safira bit her lips while pointing at the boarding pass in Tian's hand. He saw the expression on Tian's face that seemed to have guessed that there would be something worse than a fight in the car earlier.
"I think I should apologize to you, Fir." Tian said lazily.
Sapphira raised her eyebrows.
"I wouldn't stop myself if he acted like he was in the car, anyway" Tian continued.
"Do you want him, Ti?"
"You see for yourself," Tian replied as he began walking towards his seat.
Afgar was the first to greet the two as soon as they entered the cabin for first class. As soon as Sapphira sat down in her chair, she walked towards Tian. The girl turned off her phone and began to adjust the tilt of her chair. Prepare sleep.
"Eat first, Ti. I've ordered food for you and Meda before." Afgar glanced at Meda who did not care or bother to show gratitude for Afgar's actions.
Afgar himself seems to have been immune to all the irreverence and beauty of the one man.
"What did you order, Gar?" ask Tian.
"Dim sum's. Wanna, right?"
Tian shook his head. "If replaced bread can still not, yes?"
Afgar knocks on Alvin's passenger cabin, which is right in front of Meda. "Vin, change the food."
"Berritz, Ti. Tell me what you want. Brother Alvin is ready to grant everything" joked Alvin as he looked up from his cabin.
"Bread, Vin. Bread." Afgar throws Tian's pillow in Alvin's face.
Alvin got up from his seat and threw the pillow back at Afgar before walking up to one of the flight attendants near us.
"Dim sumnya has become both. So," Alvin turned his gaze toward Meda, "would Tian be for you guys, huh?"
Meda raised her right hand in a sign of agreement.
A few minutes after Tian finished his meal, he started to get sleepy. As the girl put the novel in her reading and prepared to go to sleep, her eyes caught the movement of the Meda chair. The young man was staring at him with his chin up.
"Is there a problem?" Tian asked in an attempted tone as flat as possible, despite the failure.
"Like Agatha Christie's novel?" The question he never expected would slide from the young man's lips made Tian unable to immediately answer.
Meda chuckled softly, making Tian again hold his breath. It never crossed his head that the young man before him could turn out such a laugh. Previously, he could only imagine the scowling or mocking expression that would adorn his handsome face for the next few days. Yep, handsome. A fact that unfortunately must be acknowledged by Tian.
Tian was actually quite mesmerized by the young man's face the first time he saw him in the living room of his home. It was just that it was all covered with an unpleasant attitude that he had shown Tian during the trip to the airport earlier. Recalling that, Tian ventured to bring it up while hoping that he would not make the young man again feel disturbed.
"What did we have before? In the car ...." Tian hesitated a little furthering his sentence.
"What did we have before? In the car ...." Tian hesitated a little furthering his sentence.
Meda smiled thinly. "I have a little problem waking up too early. So, when Safira called midnight to ask me to leave an hour early because I had to help you pack. I was a bit of a judge that you were nothing more than a spoiled child who could only make others difficult. However," Meda slightly changed her sitting position, "I realized that I also made a mistake in the car earlier that unconsciously made myself judge by you. And that can't be said to be fun. Therefore, I would like to try to tolerate it a little and give you the opportunity to behave normally in front of me without being affected by our previous quarrel."
Tian grunted softly. "OKAY. I'll also give you a CHANCE without remembering that fight in the car."
Meda raised both her hands. "OKAY. Fair."
"By the way about J. K. Rowling ... You call the author a fantasy novel, but why read a novel by a mystery novelist? By chance?"
"You know Mary Westmacott?" Tian replied with a smile that adorned his face.
Meda's eyes widened slightly, as did the smile on her lips. "You know her pseudonym Agatha? Whoa!"
"And J. K. Rowling also has a pseudonym ... Robert Galbraith's. Agatha wrote the romance Mary Westmacott, J. K. Rowling also wrote crime fiction under her pseudonym."
"I've been reading crime fiction all my life Agatha wrote. I don't think I'm a best-selling fantasy writer like J. K. Rowling can also write crime-fiction." Meda was still amazed.
Tian let the young man drown in his own world until finally the young man re-opened his voice.
"In your opinion, good where Agatha equals J. K. Rowling?"
"Do you think comparing different writers and different writing styles is fair? It is more appropriate that you ask whose writing is more in my taste," replied Tian diplomatically.
"Totally so." Meda nodded slowly without trying to hide her expression of admiration.
"OKAY. Then let's just say I've changed the question. Who do you prefer?" ask Meda who is still curious about what surprises she can find from the girl.
"My answer is still J. K. Rowlings. No offense to all Agatha fans yes, but I think like this because I have not read the entire work of Agatha. So, I don't think I have the right to compare his work to my favorite author's."
Meda nodded in understanding.
"You brought a lot of reading books?" tanyanya.
Tian nodded quickly and hurriedly grabbed his backpack. Meda watched the girl's face as she was busy unpacking her luggage. He involuntarily smiled and named the image of the girl with a single word. Sweet.
"Because you were curious about J's writing. K. Rowling, you can read this." Tian thrust 4 copies of the book towards him. "That's the Cormoran Strike series."
"May I borrow Agatha's? I want nostalgia too. Can I give it back when we get back to Indonesia?" ask Meda.
"May, but" Tian went back to "digging" the contents of his backpack, "I only brought Nemesis with me at the Bertram Hotel."
"just anyone?" Meda raised her next to her eyebrows. "Do you have another collection at home?"
"I can tell you that Agatha's collection of novels in my house is complete." Tian answered steadily.
"Book print, right?" Meda made sure again.
Tian nodded confidently.
"Nonsense!" tukas Meda fast.
"Excuse me?"
"Agatha wrote a book from the 1920s. That year even our parents were not born. So, how's the story you can have all the Agatha print novels collection?" Meda asked skeptically.
"Connection. I'm looking for someone who can cuddle information about who has ever bought Agatha's book. Then, I'll buy the book through that guy."
"Geez! Also true. I almost forgot you're the son of a conglomerate" said Meda.
Tian gulped bitterly. He tried to respond patiently even though his expression could not hide his disappointment at Meda's comments.
"Meda, we are discussing the completeness of my Agatha novel collection because you asked and I do not feel compelled to hide that fact from you. It has nothing to do with conglomerate children or not. If you want to prove my point, you can come to the library in my house and check out the book yourself."
"It's not the problem there." Meda shook her head small.
"Continue?"
"You use money to get whatever you want. Who can guarantee that your contact is not 'force' the people who have the book to sell the book?"
"You're speculating distance, Meda. I pay an intellect, not a market thug or a yakuza. He did not call the book from the owner who still thought the books were treasures that would not be redeemed using any currency. I bought a book that the owner did not want. The process is not a moment, Med. Almost 4 years I've been waiting for the collection to be complete." Tian paused for a moment, trying to catch his breath while swallowing back the emotions that were pressing down on his chest. "Maybe you think it's all about money, but I think it's about my best efforts to get something done that I want. One thing I know, I won't kill for something like this. So, can you stop justifying my actions to your standards that it's not even clear what the basis is?"
"Rights. Sorry." which." Meda lowered her head, no longer having the guts to look into the eyes of the girl in front of her.
On the other hand, Hera and Alvin looked at each other after hearing the conversation between the two men, while Sapphira was desperately holding Afgar to remain in her seat. True to his expectations, Afgar would not stay silent to see Tian treated like that.
"Trust me, Tian will even be more depressed if you make a fuss with Meda because of him." Sapphira whispered her seduction while squatting beside Afgar's seat.
"But it's gone too far, Fir." Afgar growled softly.
"I knew. I'm sprained too, Gar. Tian is my best friend as well, but they are in the process of getting to know each other. They got along and hooked up, right? You've never seen Tian get that familiar to anyone other than the four of us, have you?" persuade Sapphira. "Love them a chance, Baby."
