I FELL IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
Episode 23

The sound of water droplets echoed so clearly in Faye's ears. His hearing had never captured an atmosphere this calm, there was only the sound of water drops and sparks burning dry wood, even much quieter than the atmosphere of his own room at night. And for some reason, he so longed for this kind of calmness.

"Faye...?"

Faye's forehead shriveled. There was one more voice caressing his ear.

"Faye...?"

The fyriel's purple eyes blinked, slowly finding itself in the arms of a red-eyed figure staring full of anxiety. Seconds by second passed, finally Faye could feel warm in the hand as Eugene grasped and stuck it on his pale lips. Faye's lips that were now as pale as Eugene's because of the loss of enough blood were smiling weakly.

"Can you smile? I haven't seen you meet me once after the war." pinta Faye said. Eugene snorted amusedly."Still think so? You are hurt..." The Devoile sighed, but ended up smiling as well. "I've plucked the arrow, because it hurts you more. This foliage potion I'm putting on may feel painful burning, but it'll speed healing."

Faye nodded while observing the sparkling buttons of Eugene's robe which was struck by the glow of the bonfire. Accompanied by Eugene's clear-sounding heart rhythm, as the devoile rests Faye's head against the chest of her field so that the wound on Faye's back shoulder is not disturbed.

"I'm sorry, you're like this because of me." said Eugene, feeling guilty.

"This pain is so much better than Escudo's arrow stabbing you" Faye replied. "And the one who should be apologizing is me. I said something that sounded out of line with your expectations about our relationship. But really, I was so desperate. I just don't want to lose you, Eugene."

"I understand..." Eugene stroked Faye's hair gently. "I understand..."

Faye heaved a sigh of relief then closed her eyes, feeling at ease in Eugene's fragrant embrace.

"This cave...Saber found it to protect me from Dad" Eugene recalls. "I didn't think it was the last time I saw her, my best friend. And even after Saber's great sacrifice, we only get sad decisions like this."

Faye could feel Eugene's deep disappointment even though she didn't see his face.

"Eugene...."

"Hmm?"

"What are we going to do after this? It's only a matter of time until the warrior King Atlura finds us..."

Eugene straightened Faye's body so that he could see the girl's face.

"Nothing will change, Faye," he whispered convincingly. "We'll stay together, as long as we can. Do whatever we want. Go wherever we want. Nothing's gonna change." Eugene's red eyes and that line fascinated Faye.

"I will protect you and also protect our love."

"I love you, Eugene..," whispered Faye gently.

The whisper drugged Eugene, as if filling his chest with an unstoppable picture of happiness. Eugene's breath felt heavier at each pull. Some of his consciousness and self-control seemed to drift off somewhere. He wrapped his black-nailed hand around Faye's small waist. The girl looked surprised at the beginning, but at last her face softened and the purple eyes were closed and revealed beautiful lined eyelashes.

Eugene could barely hear his own heart. With her slightly blushing cheeks, she touched Faye's orange lips with hers. Feels warm and soft. Through that first touch, Eugene knows that he likes her and his instincts say that he will be out of control if he touches those lips for too long. Eugene took a few seconds into his first kiss, then ended it so gently. The young man smiled to find the look of his face that looked nervous from the reflection of Faye's clear eyes. He didn't want to let Faye see his silly blushing face for much longer.

"me too...No. gabe. I love you more, Faye." Faye smiled wryly in Eugene's arms. "So...until when do we keep hiding here?" "We won't leave until your wounds get better." " I think I'm better" Faye bargained.

"Stupid, hang on a little. I want to be alone with you" said Eugene. "And only three hours passed after the arrow pierced you, so I couldn't believe your words just now."

Dian Faye silently twisted her lips. But honestly he was happy to hear Eugene's first reason. The girl flinched as she felt Eugene's body suddenly stiffen, alert. The tension crept into his body in a matter of seconds. Eugene clings his index finger to his lips, gesturing for Faye not to make a sound. Faye was sure he would not make a sound, only that his heartbeat hardened due to the increase in adrenaline that was the only sound he produced.

There were footsteps from around the mouth of the cave. Faye gulps. Slowly Eugene moved the body of the fyriel from his embrace, sitting it in one corner of the cave. The Devoile then stood up with powerful horses, preparing with both swords in hand. He gritted his teeth. There was no other way out of this cave, the only option was to face just anyone or anything that was getting closer to it.

A long-painted blonde-haired youth emerged from behind the rock of the cave entrance, staring at Eugene with one eyebrow raised.

"I appreciate your efforts to protect Faye, but can you lower your sword now?"

"Kyrion...?" Faye's purple eyes sparkled.

Kyrion smiled faintly, joining Faye and Eugene by the campfire. "Stop looking at me like I'm the person you've been waiting for the most all day like that" he said, opening the leaf pack he was carrying. "I brought you your favorite meat loaf, Faye."

Faye clapped softly to welcome the meat bun that was guaranteed to taste good because surely Kyrion made it himself. The girl ate bread. Bite after bite Faye who was full of happy expressions made Kyrion and Eugene involuntarily smile as he looked at her.

"What did you bring for me?" Eugene glanced at the nosy Kyrion. "Consolation of the devil with you. Look for your own food in the woods" said Kyrion.

"Based on favoritism."

"Why do I feel sorry for a boy like you?"

"Bocah?? I'm a hundred and twenty years old, you know? And I don't like being pitied!"

"It's still five years younger than me."

Eugene and Kyrion's quarrel stopped as Faye split a meat bun in half and stuffed it into their mouths. The girl laughed looking at the dumb faces of the two young men.
