Tappi!!
"Good job!"
The blond-bearded Fyriel with a burly body clapped her hands to welcome a precise Escudo spear into the center of the target. He could not hide the gurat and the proud smile on his face.
"With this kind of ability, I can recommend you as the commander of the Eastern Assyrian warrior Kyrion."
"Dad's in a hurry." Kyrion smiled faintly as she wiped the sweat dripping on her forehead.
"Oh, come on...., what's wrong with you, son? As great power comes great responsibility." Emerio patted the shoulder of his proud son."If you're worried that the rush will keep you away from Faye, I'm giving you permission to take her to stay with us at the palace. Of course Vortes wouldn't mind if his daughter joined our family." The man chuckled with his booming voice.
Kyrion just smiled in response to her father's babble. "Clean yourself. Faye's coming to practice soon, isn't she?"
"Yes, Dad. Thanks for the rehearsal today." Kyrion nodded politely.
Emerio retaliated with a wave of his hand and immediately went to monitor the training of the royal soldiers. The atmosphere was relatively safe for the past few hundred years, making his work feel so light. There was only a small threat about a month ago, when some of the soldiers on patrol found traces of the devoile darkness left in their area. Moreover, the trail ends around the house of his best friend, Vortes the Escudo mine keeper. But no signs of assault or destruction were found. And after the Escudo shale fence was stocked at the border, no other security threat emerged.
The fyriel's steps were stopped when she came across a girl in the same white dress as her hair.
"Faye?" The girl bowed her body while developing her dress skirt. "Mr Emerio, long time no see."
"Sure, when was the last time I saw you?"
"A year ago, during the sacred celebration of Goddess Freya. Harvest party, Mr. Emerio "
"Ah, yes. After that Kyrion who diligently visited your house. I forgot to stop by because your dad used to come to my house too often." The man laughed loudly while patting Faye on the head.
"I'll stop by to taste your cooking, Faye. Now go, Kyrion just finished training with me. Hurry up or you'll have to wait for her to finish the shower."
"good. Excuse me." Faye bowed once more while smiling.
But Faye knew very well, that smile was just a decoration on her lips, just an expression that she forced to honor her father's best friend. The girl did not know if she could still force another smile after that one smile that felt so heavy. Especially when he meets Kyrion, the person he least wants to meet right now, but he has to do it for his own heart.
Kyrion's golden brown eyes widened. "Oh, are you coming faster?" Faye gulped, trying to move her stiff tongue.
"I don't want to practice today."
"What?" Kyrion tilted his blond head. "You're bored, huh? All right, do we have to practice outside sa..."
"No." Kyrion pias's face when she saw Faye interrupting her sentence in a cold tone. The young man then approached, trying to figure out Faye's mood through the fyriel's face.
"What's up, Faye?" his tone turned serious.
Faye did not open her mouth at all. He lowered his head, but Kyrion could still see both of his tense shoulders. Kyrion's feelings are increasingly saying something is wrong. He reached out to touch Faye's face, but the girl brushed her off slowly.
"Don't touch me." The clapping of the hand and the sentence was not loud, but it was strong enough to make a huge hole in Kyrion's heart at the moment. Especially when the girl he loved raised her face, staring with a disappointed look.
"What does this have to do with your attitude?" ask her with cold eyes.
"He's my best friend, because of that...." Faye stopped the sentence. It bites the lips. It dawned on him, Kyrion was indeed not to blame in this matter. Faye was just fed up with everything that happened, but who was to blame? Himself? Destiny?
"That doesn't mean I have to reciprocate her feelings, does it? I don't love Clarina, Faye. I can't" Kyrion explained in a soft voice. "I don't want to hurt Clarina any further, therefore I'm not forcing my feelings."
No response from Faye. Kyrion begins to feel disoriented with Faye's unchanging expression as well. It felt like he wanted to say a thousand more words to explain to the girl, but all those words seemed to be mixed up, messy in his head and not spoken a single word.
Kyrion's lips hissed softly, frustrated with the silence between the two of them.
"I love you, Faye..." Faye's eyes flickered in shock, as if she had just woken up from a long daydream. Soon the fyriel realized that her lips were trembling.
"Why did you tell me?"
Kyrion implied confusion on her face.
"Sorry.., i...." He rubbed his blond hair while sighing heavily. "I don't know what else to say to you."
"Maybe it's clear enough to me, Kyrion. It's just...." Faye's throat felt like something was clogged, a burden in her heart. While Kyrion tries to digest the girl's sentence.
"Faye...." Kyrion's eyes shone faintly. "Your attitude towards me has changed somewhat lately, because you've been aware of my feelings before?".
Faye. A wry smile fell on his lips.
"I should have known you must have realized that."
A few palace servants flashed by and greeted Kyrion. The usually friendly-looking young man was unable to cover his currently chaotic expression. He just nodded, returning the cheerful greetings of the servants was just that.
"So that's what got you here you feel guilty, right? terka Kyrion. "If it wasn't Clarina, you wouldn't be coming here right now and have this face."
"Why should I?" Faye didn't dare look Kyrion in the eye.
"You kidding? Why don't you understand too??"
Kyrion's tone contained emotional suppression.
"Love is not something you can force. Ilove you. I never arranged it myself either. The feeling arises by itself. You can't ask me something like that, because I really love you!"
"You're right, feelings can't be forced. "You who can't reciprocate Clarina's feelings.., and I who can't return your feelings...." One painful beat struck Kyrion's heart.
"Unfortunately I can't force this pain to go away immediately either" Faye continued.
Without waiting for a response, the girl turned around and walked away leaving the pajas-faced Kyrion alone. Fyriel was unable to move her legs, only moving her eyes to look at the white haired girl's departure with a tightness shrouding her chest.
